The only casual filters in a game as easy as Super Mario World are the choices in Bowser's Castle for the two rooms you must choose. Doors [spoilers]1 and 6[/spoilers] are the only difficult ones.
>i always chose 2 and 8
Game isnt easy though. Don't know what planet you live on where the only measure of a games challenge is through the eyes of seasoned fagg... I mean gamers like you.
In a blind playthrough (that is, not knowing about the secret paths and Star World), you wouldn't normally encounter the Reznors until, I think world 6, pretty late in the game. I believe the first obvious casual filter in SMW is Kamek in World 3 castle.
Super Mario Odyssey dark side.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 last comet

Not Op, but that's an unfiltered screenshot on the SNES' original resolution.
Hi.
>when spoiler tags are casual filters
Reznors are hardly casual filters.
>Nine Inch Nail reference in a Mario game
What did Nintendo mean by this?
>What did Nintendo of America mean by this?
ftfy
i hope you're joshing me here. World was crazy easy, especially in comparison to the previous 3 games. Hell, the American version of 2 was harder.
World was the game that started the trend of Mario games being able to be completed by literal toddlers.
Super Mario World is one of my favorite games and I will love until I die, but the game's incredibly easy.
in Puyo Puyo Tetris
Ugh. Hated that mission.
i'm incapable of creating more than 2 chains. It's the sole reason why I refuse to play online
Learn tetris, it's easier and stronger.
More of a fast reflex game than Puyo's technical thinking game.

The casual filter in any Mario game is the scrolling levels, especially ones inside of caves where getting squashed is possible.
They only seem easy to us because we aren't casual.
Mario games were always capable of being beaten by literal toddlers. The game was sold to kids first and foremost. This meme that Mario was hard has got to end. Lost Levels was the only one that could be said to be difficult. Inb4 SMB3shitters come in and complain about Dark Land for the thousandth time.
Lol fuck that game. Never got past it :(
...
how is this even a casual filter, this shit can be done in like 7-12 seconds with almost no effort other running up and pressing jump under the live ones a couple of times.
Is it the shitty version where t-spins were the only viable way to play like in Tetris DS? That and the infinite rotation turned me off.
Sup fags
i always went 4 and 8
game can be beaten in about 12 minutes and thats even with fucking up jumps and not taking optimum routes.
Castle 3 was definitely a casual filter, but on my first playthrough I did get to the Reznors in the ice fortress. That was the first time I encountered them.
Because you got no argument to present against Dark Land?
It doesn't even make sense, it's a random decoration in a supposedly private hospital room
you could breeze through dark land with the powerups you saved throughout your journey unless you were a whistle fag.
I don't think you know what a casual filter is.
The argument was that it's not that all that hard. Hence the "shitter" part of my post. You really need to git gud if you consider it extremely difficulty.
I threw my gameboy sp across the room in Dark Land, I swear that shit was harder on gameboy than the actual NES
To be fair, that's every every Mario game back then. You could warp to the final few worlds in a short manner of minutes. Though I would say a game's difficulty should be measured by how hard its levels are, rather than the shortcuts one can take. Technically you can skip all of Zombies Ate my Neighbors with the right password, but I'd call it difficult because its stages become impossibly hard by around level 13 or so. That being said, you're right, World is not hard. Its levels are pretty easy.
because the jumps required percision which was hard to master on those wonky button layout they have on the sp. my hand cramps when im playing platformers on those things.
The first Ogre in Die By the Sword.
The physics maybe? I thought I heard somewhere that the Allstars version (which is the GBA version) fucked with the physics.
>Sup Forums tells me this guy is fucking hard as balls and that they died many times against him
>Beat him on my 4th try
Did I get memed or was the RNG kind to me that day?
You're supposed to fold like a billion cranes to get a wish or something if you're in the hospital.
It's a japanese culture thing they didn't bother explaining.
Hope you have an hour or 2 to spare
Floor starts to fall away after the first one is knocked off. Never died to them myself, but slower play could get you killed.
Different people are good at different things.
>naming your boss after that one musician named “Trent” with the cool-sounding last name
true
While we're talking about Kamek, I'd say Kamek in Tetris Attack qualifies as a casual filter. In some ways I find him even harder than Bowser. This guy pulls off some crazy ass chains.
nothing personal kid
>The only casual filters in a game as easy as Super Mario World are the choices in Bowser's Castle
>implying Tubular hasn't constantly proven itself to be the biggest casual filter in the series
if you take the first 2 out fast you can time your third jump to knock out the last one causing the battle to end and keeping you from falling into the pit. on the four one no matter what you are forced to jump on a platform and wait it out. not difficult in the slightest
A little bit of both I'd say. I beat him on my 4th try as well. But then, this could be because I play a lot of shmups. I felt that most shmup bosses in this game weren't all that bad. The robot was probably the worst, but even he wasn't too much trouble.
Golden sun doesn't have casual filters, it has functional brain filters where anybody who is not retarded stops playing immediately.
The boss that game me the hardest trouble was the Giant Robot one
Hence why he slower play could get you killed.
Only the physics in SMB1/LL was fucked, the gameplay in 2 and 3 was pretty much the same.
I'll never understand how the physics screw-up in SMB stayed in, it makes itself apparent several seconds into 1-1.
People say that Kintaro [or the entire AI of MK2 arcade] were hard as balls but Kintaro was easy to play around because the AI is just retarded in some cases
Shao Kahn on the other hand, i hope you like the shoudler bash spam
I'll never understand why they felt the need to fuck with the physics period. They were perfect.
>thought Kamek and Bowser in TA were hard as shit
>Fucking Gary and Mewtwo in PPL make them seem like childs play.
Mewtwo almost made throw the cartridge a few times. Doesn't help you get thrown back to Gary if you lose to him.
>optional level
Do you know what a casual filter even is?
It was a goof. The value that bounces you back down when you hit a block with your head is reversed so that it forces you upwards a bit and gets you caught on the block.
There's a quick patch out there for the SNES version that fixes it, but I dunno about GBA.
...
>implying people who don't play the whole game aren't casuals by default
Mr. Gold and Mr. Silver A.K.A. "Learn how to deal with two people at once or go home"
Also to further clarify how ass-reaming this part is, just look at the screenshot.
>Ogre is in mid-swing, about to turn your fucking head into paste against the nearby wall
>Game autosaves
but they're easy
...
You do realize that a casual filter is something that strains your skills in a relatively EARLY part of the game right? FUCKING HANG YOURSELF
Dude the spider guardian was so much worse. I killed this fucked in the first try
Underrated post
...
>Ruins your chance of 100%ing the game within the first minute
Not that this game isn't literally impossible imo to 1005 without a guide
>the fucking reznors of all things
>Casual filter
extremely effective bait
>casual filter: the game
>100%ing FFX-2 without going into NG+
>even while following a guide it's the hardest thing I've ever done
>i couldnt make it to lemuria the post
i will laugh at you and you cant stop me
>Play 7
>Fighting Ecolo in Transformation Mode
>The asshole can pop out all clears
>Takes close to 60 attempts to beat him
>Next battle is with Tsu rules
>He offs himself
>Mfw this exact same thing happens in but replace Transformation with Tetris
I guess if there's one thing PPT has over 7 is that Ecolo can't Constantly offset his way out of a board full of garbage like he can in 7.
Someone post MH1 Kut-Ku
Keyblades guide is ass, I had his guide and another guys guide side by side and he misses a few things that are vital to 100%
Only reason I got 100% on my pre-newgame+ playthrough is because of some conversation and commsphere viewings he didn't mention
Also I successfully calibrated all the thunder plains towers
This bitch in Ninja Gaiden.
When I beat her when I was 10 I came buckets it felt so good.
The Robot was far fucking worse, both him and the Bee Queen sucked ass
...
>get to Pikachu and Snorlax with this
>omg dude they're so hard omg
>beat them first try
not for one of Gwyn's elite
FFX-2 is the easiest FF game to 100% you fucking scrub
as a kid i always found it hard because if you waste even a second you're fucked
If you beat Dark Souls with a Black Knight weapon, you legitimately unironically did not beat it. I don't usually gatekeep but I am fully serious. You did not beat it.
>Souls anything being a casual filter
I love souls but you're wrong.
This too.
Literally lies, just of the top of my head, without mentioning ff1-3, FF9 is way way easier to 100%
You need to clear Via Infinito and never pick the wrong options in conversations or miss a conversation in FFX-2 or you can kiss your 100% goodbye
Die by the Sword is a shit game with great mechanics, seriously whoever came up with the ideas is a genius but whoever implemented them deserves a room in hell.
I have a fun recent memory of tubular.
My niece was struggling with basic controls and then my sister(her mom) went ahead and beat the level no problem, so I selected tubular next for her and she tried several times and died barely reaching the yellow pipes in the beginning iirc.
Then I beat it on my first try and laughed saying it was easy. Didn't actually expect me to make it the first time after not having played for a while.
Mewtwo was pretty fucking hard. They stepped their game up with Pokemon Puzzle League
You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
This is the fight that really tests if you can control the movement and spacing of the game, great casual filter that STILL gets me on fresh hard mode sometimes.
