I played the game and didn't complain about it on the Internet. Apparently this is something a lot of people on Sup Forums can't claim.

I lost my whole group to the collector. Heard that happens quite often.

>start a new run
>doing really fucking well
>almost done second dungeon
>fucking collector appears
>team is low on health
>got to use occultist heals
>narrator says “Now is the time to perform BEYOND ones limits!”
>press heal
>1 health
>bleed
>get wiped
Th-thanks pajeet

...

Is there a way in-game to know beforehand what a boss might be like, or do I have to run in blind, risking my entire team being ill-suited for the fight?

>doing a thing
>RNG happens
>Ancestor purple proses

COMPASSION IS A RARITY IN THE FEVERED PITCH OF BATTLE
>0
>Bleed

What's even the point of this game when you could just flip a coin?

> heads my party survived the encounter
> tails we wiped
> repeat x-amount of times until you complete your imaginary dungeon

There. I just saved you 80+ hours of realizing all your "prep-work" is essentially meaningless in the face of the Lovecraftian horror that is "random chance and probability".

...

>return from quest
>TOWN EVENT: WOLVES AT THE DOOR
>oh no
>decide to send HM, OC, BH, AB becuase "don't send your A Team"
>begin quest
>not going great
>stress hits BH
>...POWERFUL
>stress hits Abom
>POWERFUL
>Stress hits HM
>FOCUSED
>Stress hits OCC
>POWERFUL
>all 4 heroes,virtuous
>OVERCONFIDENCE MEANS NOTHING NOW
>vvulf comes
>DESTROYED
>get Ancestor's Lantern
It could have been worse but I got really lucky, happened today.

I've only ever had a quad virtue run and it happened in that insanely large dungeon in the darkest dungeon. It was fucking awesome. Every turn they were healing each others' stress.

...

I'M GONNA BUY THIS
But how does the crimson court work compared to the rest of the game? Is it just it's own side missions, or what?
Also, I know that you should target stress inducing enemies first, but any other tips?

Also, is shieldbreaker worth it?

bemp

Don't bump without content. It's gauche.

I'm literally typing a reply to and Give me a fucking minute, will you?

You forgot to remind yourself, user.

You're on the clock.

>kill shreiker because he stole my shit
>town event when I get back is wolves at the door
>fuck it yolo
>send same team out again
>kill him ez in 4 turns
I stopped playing though because I'm too chicken to fight champion hag

I'm on week 70, most of my roster is level 5 but I need like fucking 80 more deeds to upgrade blacksmith and begin assaulting the DD and I'm just getting burned out on the grind

I DONT WORK WELL UNDER PRESSURE

...

is this the "larianiggers will defend this" of darkest dungeon?

SALACIOUS DIARY

How do I get the edited omen seeker battle sprite to work
It's all jumbled up
Everything else works, it's just the combat one

It has it's own side missions, and 3 bosses.
Dungeons are HUGE as fuck, being a fucking maze. Get used to embark multiple times.

The Crimson Court is a very though addition to the game, very hard and unforgiving, but not unbeatable.
The start of every game will be really harsh, because you will have a Crimson Court town event that will reduce the stress healing of all your heroes, this event won't expire until you complete the mission 'Burn the hives'.

Said event won't happen again, but in doing so you will unleash the Crimson Curse all over your state, infecting it with it's disease.
In reality, the Crimson Curse is some sort of vampiric disease; not the 'Dracula' kind of vampire, but more of a 'bloodsucker' vampire, mosquitos and bugs, etc.

Once you complete the first Crimson Curse mission, enemies of the courtyard (where the Crimson Court takes places) will start randomly spawning in other dungeon runs, these bloodsucker enemies have a rather high chance to infect your heroes with the Curse with every hit. All mosquito-like enemies that can use the attack 'The Thirst' has a chance to infect your heroes. Also supplicants can infect your heroes with 'Gather the blood'

Infected heroes will start needing and demanding 'The blood' (literally vials of blood) to survive, giving it buffs but also debuffs. The catch is that, if you dont have blood to give to a wasting vampiric hero, it will die. Yes, even your super buffed and maxed out level 6 hero WILL die out of 'thirst'.

Cont?

Nah, it sounds like I wouldn't enjoy it much. What about shieldbreaker?

Does Musketeer play any differently than Arbalest?

Also, does crimson court add any classes?

no

AND do some mods require you to have crimson court? Like I was interested in New unit mods like Cataphract and Omen Seeker.

Nope. I suppose according to the lore your "unprepared" team either adapt to the circunstances or they run away to tell the tale

Dont think so. Those mods have submods which add crimson court related stuff.

Shuffler, DPS, has some decent Blights, she's decently fast and has decent dodge, she has more HP than a support backline hero, but has less HP than more solid frontline heroes, such as Crusader or Leper.

What makes her intresting is her Gimmicks:
Her main attack 'Pierce', will shuffle her foward 1 position, and it ignore the enemy PROT. Means she will be 'piercing' the enemy armor and always deal full damage. Not even the Leper can compare against enemies that has more than +50% PROT
She also has a few de-stealth abilities
Her second most important gimmick is that she has a move, 'Serpent Sway', it moves her a position foward, and gives her two 'aegis'. Basically it completely negates an enemy damage attack. She can get crited by 100 damage, but the aegis will still block all the damage, saving her life. It will still not defend her from Bleed, Blight or Stress tho.

Last thing is that she will have 'Nightmares' of her past. You will have to fight desert serpents during a nightime dream, these serpents can be nasty if you're not well prepared, and she will take MASSIVE Stress damage every turn during the fight. End the fight quickly. If you take too long, the fight will end, all snakes with disappear but the horror effect will remain on her, testing her resolve. On the other hand, if you kill all snakes; the horror effect will disappear on her, you will get 'Eagis scales' trinkets as loot (Trinkets that completely negates 2 incoming attacks before breaking). After 5 nightmares, she will stop having nightmares, but snakes will spawn in dungeon runs when you embark with her.

Crimson Court does indeed add a new class: the flagellant, you can add him to the game without turning on the Crimson Court quests, so you can use him without all the hassle.

Some mods require that you have the DLC turned on, the Dragonslayer comes to mind. They usually tell you right in the description.

Yes, the Crimson Court adds a new hero, the 'Flagellant'.
Want me to explain him?

>you can add him to the game without turning on the Crimson Court quests, so you can use him without all the hassle.
Well fuck I completely forgot about that

Maybe video games aren't the hobby for you

Sure.

>tfw I-I'll just ignore it...

The Flagellant, or just Flagman, is a batshit insane lunatic martyr from the church, he's the fourth religious hero, therefore he won't embark with an Abomination.

The Flagellant is a Bleed based hero, decent HP, lack buster direct attack damage, but HUGE Bleed DoT's. Normal dodge but decent speed.
The gimmick of the Fagman is that almost all his attack also applies Bleed damage as it's main source of damage, so he will shine in dungeons with enemies with low Bleed resistance, such as the Warrens. On the other hand, he will very lackbuster in dungeons with high Bleed resistance, like the skeletons from the Ruins.

The Fagelant is also a frontline healer, his 'offensive' heal 'Exsanguinate' will apply a huge Bleed on an enemy, heal the Fagalelant for 35% HP, and apply some considerably debuffs for 3 rounds. He needs to be under 50% to be able to cast that attack.
His 'support' heal is 'Redeem', same deal as before, but this time, it will heal him and an ally for a 35%, meaning as the Flagellant is taking constant damage, he can keep himself, or an ally and himself alive indefinerally.

The other gimmick is that he has increased Deathblow resistance, he has 73% DB resistance instead of the normal 67% DB resistance, in which makes him even harder to kill.
Basically he is an undying son of a bitch. He's considered OP by many players.

He has a stress healing ability, which also stresses him a little. He has a 'restoration' aiblity in which will heal an ally every turn, but applying a huge bleed on the Flagellant. And other that transfers all Bleed, Blights and Marks from an ally and transfers them to himself.

He also recieves buffs as his health decreases, at 38% he recieves attack, speed buffs but huge dodge debuffs. When he's put at Deaths door, he will heal the entire party for a little heal, and when a he dies, he will stun the whole enemy team.

He also has only 1 affliction, cant get virtuous.
He will get 'Rapturous'.

Basically he will get a massive hard-on everytime for all the times he gets hit, will recieve massive attack and speed buffs, but reduced dodge.
The catch is that he will become a double edged blade.

He will fight even harder, but since he becomes batshit insane, you will start losing control over him. He will start randomly acting on his own, attacking enemies, attacking himself, even attacking YOUR TEAM.
Hell even when you have someone a deaths door, or even himself, will outright refuse to cooperate, will refuse to heal himself or other teammates, this is the main reason Flagellants dies, because on the verge of death they will not cooperate, that or Stuns. Also they are biggest source of heroes killing other heroes; don't be surprised when your Flagman puts a hero of yours to deaths door, then said hero dies due Bleed.

Not even that guy, but I appreciate it.

Thanks for the info man, this helps a lot.

I fucking hate DD3. I think I got to the end, there was some stress symbol mark at the floor and killed the big cancer. Little cancer dodged 3 times in a row and surived one attack that did minimal damage, teleported me like halfway across the map. I had a pretty shitty party for this quest and didn't expect blight out of the ass so 2 people died on the way back. Had to abandon, only 1 made it out alive. Did the first 2 missions first try with no casualties and now I'm buttmad

Before end the wall of text, I'd like to point something out.

Remenber the message after the intro? On how things in game will go south, heroes will die, quests will fail, etc?
Take that to heart. Seriously.

On a second note, here's a comment on a video on Youtube:

It's amazing how much people on both sides miss the point of the game.
On the one hand, yes, this is a thinking man's RPG. Your party members aren't the unshakable badasses you'd see in Final Fantasy. You've got a lot more to think about, more things can go wrong, and when they do go wrong they have lasting impacts. The game's freaking hard.
On the other hand, even the biggest fan of Darkest Dungeon can't deny that the RNG can ruin every single setup in the game. One bad Crit, one single Affliction can send the whole thing into a death spiral. Sometimes the Collector shows up blocking your only path and you gotta expend way too much fighting him than you should normally. Sometimes that fucking Occultist will fucking heal you for fucking zero and fucking inflict fucking bleed and then a fucking bandit will fucking critical two of your fucking guys with fucking Blanket Shot and fucking give your fucking Vestal fucking Irrational and fucking put the other fucking one on fucking Death's fucking Door, and then they'll FUCKING BLEED OUT NEXT FUCKING TURN BECAUSE YOUR FUCKING VESTAL DECIDED TO FUCKING HURT HERSELF INSTEAD OF FUCKING HEALING HIM!
Sorry. Got a little wound up there. The point is, sometimes shit happens. Sometimes. Shit. Happens.
That's the entire point of the game. It says it right on the startup that it's about making the most of a bad situation. The mindset for someone about to play Darkest Dungeon should be something like: I gotta have a plan to get anywhere, but no matter what I do, I can't account for bad luck, and it'll nail me eventually. It's just a matter of time. So how do I make sure I can come back from it?

you are a tvtropes goon (kike)

>be me
>have a toaster
>no problem because the game still runs well
>some time later the Crimson Court DLC comes out
>buy it and restart from the beginning
>game crashes permanently when trying to open the 2nd Courtyard mission
>googling it seems like plenty of people have this problem
>no solution offered other than "get a better PC, lol"
>stop playing

...

My toaster is from 2007 and, besides a graphic card update, my game never crashed
Not trying to banter, either reinstall, verify cache, ask for help on Google or just get a better PC

kek
This image also speaks truth

Except the 'Heroes stay dead' thing. There is a rather rare event that you get to revive 1 of 3 fallen heroes.

sometimes... dead is better

that revival also resets their gear and skills though, meaning you gotta waste a lot of dosh getting them back up to snuff

So does anyone have advice on how I should utilize bounty Hunter. Literally every time I embark with one they end up dying.

Oh shit really?
Well fuck that's a bummer.

Still tho, there are only 2 heroes worth reviving. You know which ones.

take him to the warrens, put him in slot 2 or 3, and bring a houndmaster
guard him if you need to otherwise just mark shit for him to execute
he's not a frontline tank but he's not exactly frail either

>weak heals

>because fuck you x 3

Should I try to build a team around stun and utilize his "finish him" attack?

I had the event twice so far and he wasn't picked in either. A beloved lvl 5 plague doctor was picked though so that was ok

Almost all of the apprentice-tier bosses are balanced around not knowing their gimmicks - you'll only be truly fucked if your composition is hideously bad for that fight. For higher difficulties you'll need to put some thought into party compositions, though.

tl;dr what said

More wordly, he's very versatile, good stuns, good move attacks, huge damage buffs against human, decent marking, meh'ish camping skills.

I'd make the polite guess that a matter of your Snortman dying is a problem of not knowing how to handle your enemy or the team. BH is not exacly a tank, so bring a decent healer.

Like, you can, but personally I never bothered doing that. In my personal opinion, I base him around secondary damage dealer, stunner, enemy shuffler and marker.

A good stun team is Hellion (Barbaric Yaph stuns the enemies in pos 1 and 2) and Plague Doctor (Stun grenades affect enemy post 3 and 4)

you can throw some stuns in there sure i guess. collect bounty is the real deal though. I usually just use collect bounty, flashbang, come hither, and uppercut for shuffling/cc as needed. collect bounty is really all he needs to shit out damage if you're using HM mark
BH+HM is the dreamteam for warrens. anything else is just extra.

Be glad your beloved bros died in combat. I had to dismiss Dismas and Reynauld because I was running dry on Blood and had to keep my Courtyard team healthy.
At times, I regret that decision

>Anger is power. UNLEASH IT,

>Last 2 survivor Abominations after a Warren Dungeon went horribly wrong
>POWERFUL and FOCUSED

My god I demolished that dungeon like I never did in my life, they would 1 hit enemies all the times.
It was beautiful

Deus Vult

>dont use more then 1 person who can't hit row 3 or 4 (no double leper or crusader etc)
>bring 1 person with a stun
>bring a healer and someone who can stress heal
This comp can literally can beat every apprentice boss.

Bounty Hunter's stuns are phenomenal. His damage is really solid, but he's best used as a stunner for most fights. I almost always keep the following on my bar:

Collect Bounty / Uppercut / Flashbang / Finish Him
Most of the time I use Uppercut for chip damage while stunning, with the possible benefit of wasting enemy turns shuffling. If I'm not in a Champion level dungeon I'll usually swap Flashbang out for Mark for Death. I love fishing for big crits with mark bonuses, but in harder dungeons I really want to hit row 3 with Finish Him or a backline stun for Swine Skivers and the like.

>play game
>fall in love with it, play 100 hours over the course of two weeks
>beat game
>life suddenly feels empty and dull
damn it Sup Forums

If you have your camping skills in order you won't even need a stress healer for apprentice bosses. Unless you're letting skeleybones splash you for free, in which case you've got bigger problems.

The conclusion seems to be "you need an Nvidia graphics card". Which for me pretty much means changing my laptop.

Any other similar game I would like, or am I stuck playing mods?

>he doesn't extract fun from stochastic vibrational processes in machinery, brownian motion of coal particles in refineries and drunken random walks
