The Witcher 3

Why does this game consistently have over 10,000 players online on steam? Single player games usually die off after a week or two but this game is nearing 3 years old and it's still being played as if brand new. What is the appeal to this? It's probably the most played single player game on Steam.

i dunno, maybe a lot of people just really like it?

I don't know, I guess the game is fun or something

Maybe it’s a fun game and people are replaying it or just playing it for the first time?

no other game came close to the feeling I had walking inside the Novigrad city, no wonder people keep playing this game

gwent is so boring

A lot of single player games are fun yet it doesn't have the playerbase this does.

Nah that would be Skyrim by a considerable magnitude.

Exploring is fun

I like atmosphere. I beat the game around 2 months after release, and finished up my Death March playthrough last year. But even with everything major done, I still find it relaxing to pop in and complete some contracts, explore places I glossed over, etc. There was alot of heart in this game, and I appreciate that.

>witcher 15k
>skyrim 24k

Because it's the most important piece of art in history, that's why.

That's a lot of shit taste

Because it's a great game, and often on sales, and always has the new blood to play it.
It earned more money in 2017 than fucking PUBG with 3000000 concurrent players. And it's on game sales alone, there's no "game services" and microtransactions at all.

It's one of the best games ever made faggot.

I agree, maybe those shitters think Witcher is better just because it's newer

Because it’s an extremely well developed game with a heavy emphasis on character. You don’t always need storytelling for a game to be fun, but every one of this games critics should be grateful that at least some developers still put effort into their projects.

Skyrim has more. Eat shit witcher cuck

Skyrim has a massive modding scene behind it.

Skyrim has more players you faggots. Your garbage game will never reach the heights of Skyrim.

You look familiar mister

They're both garbage 6/10 games faglord

And? CDPR released modkits, nobody cared.

i actually got in an autistic Sup Forums-tier debate about skyrim at a party once

>Witcher 3
>Exploring

Eat shit Witcher cuck. Respect your father

Yes.

>you explore... forest! you find a bandit camp!
>you explore... beach! you find drowners!
>you explore... forest! you find a bandit camp!
>you explore... swamp! you find drowners!
>you explore... swamp! you find drowners!

Sup Forums still absolutely salty Witcher 3 is game of the decade and currently the best game ever made.

watch reviews and youll understand

You need to play BotW

in your opinion
in my opinion youre missing out on 2 games of superb taste

When I was exploring I often came across some neat sidequests, ruins or beautiful vistas. The game is so beautiful that simply walking around its world is a delight

It is worth playing/buying it?

>జ్ఞా

they probably should but afaik BotW has nothing close to Novigrad, but ive played BotW and fortunately its somewhat narrative based free roam rpg, more need to be made, was only bethesda for like 20 years

aint you a little short to be a game director?

>you explore... forest! you find a bandit camp!
>you explore... beach! you find mudcrabs!
>you explore... forest! you find a bandit camp!
>you explore... swamp! you find mudcrabs!
>you explore... swamp! you find mudcrabs!

Ah that barren nothing and forgettable plot and characters. Okay then. Botw commitsmore open world sins than Witcher 3 yet v tries to unironically shill it.

>> Get this stunted slime out if my face

because it's good enough to keep attracting new players and has enough content for a hundred hours

Same reason normies still play GTAV.
It's an easy and casual game.

>Ah that barren nothing

Are you serious? The world in BotW is easily more dense, detailed and interesting to explore than Witcher 3's world. Have you even actually played it?

...

How is that a problem? Just go to where you want to go and do that first you fucking spaz
Is this a legit complaint about the game? Please tell me that's just a joke

It's a fantastic game with lots of content and holds up well when you replay it. Also, some people are only now getting into with due to the TV show hype and all.

Pretty sure it gets a consistent stream of new players just through sheer word of mouth.

It's one of those games that gets people gushing and people tend to give it a go eventually.

I think the problem is, you are taking it as if TW3 is meant to be beaten in short a time as possible. What you don't realize is that lore and story wise Geralt was have meant to have taken a long ass fucking time before eventually finding Ciri. It's totally okay that he would have taken this route because he was literally looking all over the world to find her.

That plot takes place over a period of MONTHS, not the 80 hours you sink into the game.
