His early stuff is really good but people got caught up with the so randumb nature of Killer7 so he's not allowed to make good games anymore.

I think Killer is Dead was attempt to go back to that. It follows Killer7s style of storytelling in a way. Game has it own story issues though which make it kind of boring.

I'm probably the only one who enjoyed the Silver Case as much as I did.

Also, thanks for providing me two reasons to post this now.

He used to make amazing and innovative games with great plot and art design such as The Silver Case but then he made No More Heroes which was his dumbest product (still great though), it was a pretty big success and since then GHM got pushed by big publishers into making dumb shit exclusively.
Looks like he's trying to get back on track by remaking the games from TSC universe, which will eventually culminate into a new VN.
Now that GHM is under GungHo's wing hopefully they'll have more creative freedom.

One thing i noted which i think some people missed is most of the bosses are "English childhood memories", hinting at Mondos forgotten past.
Alice in wonderland is the first boss, and the train is Thomas the tank engine, one of the achievements for that stage is even called "the fat controller"

I'll be honest, other than NMH his games suck as games. Visually interesting though.

I guess I can accept that it was over my head. I became super frustrated when nothing really meshed for 80% of the game and then suddenly you fought David or whatever.

The Sun is the giver, provider, nourisher and lover.
The Moon is ingenuity, progress, cycles but most of all change. SUDA loves the moon, it always represents change, progression.
Mondo has the sun in the palm of his hand, loves his eggs sunny side up. But he completely doesnt realise what hes got, he becomes obsessed by the moon, moon river. And ends up killing David, taking his place as the gatekeeper of malice. A theme in NMH2 is the more you kill, dig deeper into the darker side of life, the more it becomes you, the harder it is to ever escape again. Travis' desperate struggle to escape the cycle of revenge is obvious here.
Mondo doesnt even realise what hes doing, he digs so deep so blindly he inherits the fortune of darkness. Its arguable David just wanted to quit his job, and enticed Mondo up to the moon to succeed him.

Killer7 and KiD also share a lot of chess themes, and black and white cycle symbolism. Try playing it two times in a row, just story missions, its not a long game.
