I'm obsessed with how L.A. Noire did this. There are countless real life brands in the game that are NEVER made overly apparent. Like, the billboards all around the city are for fake brands, yet you come across real life brands all the time in cases. Pic related is the only time I came across this in the entire game. So surreal.

MGS3 had moving shilling, Calorie-Mate and Ramen.
MGS4 had Calorie-Mate, Energy Drinks, Assassin's Creed, Ramen, the iPod, and J-Pop.
MGS PW had Mountain Dew, Assassin's Creed, Monster Hunter, J-Pop, Vocaloid, and Sony Walkman.
MGSV had name-dropping designer glasses and boots.
To some extent, all games that were Sony exclusive had some sort of boasting and shilling for Playstation's hardware, and I'm pretty sure every game shilled gravure models in some fashion. Don't forget that most of these games also had brand-name weapons.

The brand-name weapons was actually for realism and they were told to stop after getting the slightest hint of legal flak for it, which is why we got shitty weapons for MGSV.

Go where? MGSV had the least amount of shilling, and being the highest budget out of all of them. The game did game out earlier than it needed to be but it at least had some damn fine polish compared to the previous titles. It also uses the Fox Engine, literally one of the most optimized game engines Konami could ever steal. I fucking plays PES 2015 on the PS2 and PES 2017 on mobile. I just wanted to point out that I love the Fox Engine to death. The last thing decent Konami did before killing their fanbases.
