I'm playing Zelda: Windwaker and there's this box in a hallway in Forsaken Fortress. I'm not stuck or anything. It's just this is really bugging me.
I've looked all around and I can't find any ladders in this hallway that I would need to push the box against. No walk-throughs even mention this box. As far as I'm aware there is no use for this box. So this begs the question: why the fuck is this even here? What is its purpose? It's driving me nuts guys.
Why is there a box?
Imagine being this autistic.
They wouldn't put it there if there wasn't a purpose for it! What is it for?!
It’s a weapon to surpass Metal Gear, duh.
It isn't made of cardboard though. It's wood.
There is no purpose, now fuck off
Sometimes a box is just a box.
But this is a Zelda game. Why would they put something there that has no puzzle or purpose??
Assume you're a Gamecube baby and this is your first Zelda. That's just there so you can "practice" moving the box around. Try to look at the game from the perspective of somebody who doesn't intuitively understand game mechanics.
Look at Super Mario 64. The aquarium level isn't fun. It's just 4 red coins floating at the top and 4 red coins directly below. It isn't meant to be entertaining, it's meant to be an alternative way to practice swimming for anybody having trouble with Jolly Roger Bay in their first ever 3D video game. If you played SM64 at the time of release or at the very least as a small child, you have fond memories of the aquarium level despite it appearing to be egregious filler to any veteran gamer playing it for the first time in 2018.
Think about the first enemies on the beach in Sonic Adventure. They aren't even really on the pathway. They're off to the right a bit. If you picked up SA for the first time today (but not as your first 3D Sonic) you would probably run right past them. They don't serve any purpose. But if you were playing SA at the time of release, or again if you were a small child playing SA, then you would be more drawn to the enemies for a few reasons. One, you likely wouldn't realize how inconsequential they are to completing the level. Two, you would be drawn into seeing how combat mechanics work in 3D Sonic. Thus these easy as hell enemies teach you how to apply the homing attack in a regular level, rather than in a small boss arena with the camera locked on the target.
If you roll into that box a thousand times in a row it opens up a portal on the great sea that leads to a fully explorable Hyrule.
But only if you complete the figurine gallery, start a new game plus and do it on your first trip to the forsaken fortress.
if your disc is shiny gold colored AND this box appears in this hallway, it means you have the rare original print with purple ganon, it's worth a lot more than a normal copy
I mean, I guess. But in that case shouldn't there be like, I dunno, a chest or something on a ledge? And the only way to get to it is to use the box. That seems like a better was to teach. Like if this was my first Zelda I'd just walk around it and ignore it.
For real? That doesn't seem right.
Dude ima put this in a display case ASAP then!
It's real, my dad's friend's dog's vet's cousin works for Nintendo.
The GameCube version STILL looks better than the HD port
I guess that makes the whole figurine thing make a lot more sense then.
Damn right it does.
indeed
Try it If you don't believe me.
the final product looks 10x better than those images, this is b8
Maybe I will.
Because there is.
Just play the damn game.
I want to and I refuse to leave any stone unturned in this playthrough! Which is why I shall find the purpose of this box!
