If you don't like medieval games with white people, this game is perfect for you. Only subhuman slavs and brutish germanics in this game. It adds a very nice element of savagery and backwardness that you wouldn't think would be present in Europe outside of pockets of foreign diaspora. Like being in a familiar rural town, yet the populace acts like they have the brains of chimps. I really like this setting choice.

I recommend waiting few weeks, there was a massive patch that fixed some stuff so it's very playable atm, but there's already another one in works

Despite all its flaws, this game shows us just how shit modern game writers are. It is an indie game, yet it has better story and faaaar better dialogs and characters than any modern game. Bioware is literally fanfiction tier compared to this.

The writers aren't the problem. Shit stories in games (especially AAA, ESPECIALLY Bioware) happen because of a cascading whirlwind of badness, lack of coordination, conflicting interests, meddling executives, corporate groupthink and "too many cooks" sorts of situations. In fact, saying "the writers are to blame if the story/dialogue is shit" is frequently one of the many reasons why it's shit to begin with.
This this one interactive short story called "The Writer Will Do Something". It was co-written by a bunch of industry veterans and perfectly demonstrates how all this usually goes down. Not reflective of any one particular game production, but heavily based on real scenarios that happened in companies both big and small.

The small group of loud activists tried to overblow the whole thing.
Dev continued to criticize the concept of political correctness and the absurdity of self-victimizing attitudes and make a handful of jokes at expense of radicals and enjoy the PR that came from this whole event.

Sadly, idiots around here took the whole thing too seriously and decided to blow this whole thing out of proportions.
