what went right?
What went right?
This is the final nail in any future Marvel vs. Capcom encounters.
Got that casual dollar
Best timeline. AAA MH is there to stay
It took it half a month to reach sales targets? What were they fucking aiming for?
>mediocre franchises that nobody gave a shit about even in the "good old days" are now selling well because people are that fucking starved for games this gen
>Sup Forums thinks this is things going right
What does the last sentence says in the pic
Six million copies of all games released this year total, apparently.
>listening to giant bombcast
>MHW is still too complex for them after all the excessive QoL they did for it
Normies are never really gonna get into it. MHW only sold because normie console with high marketing budget.
The correct platforms. Seriously, sometimes it doesn’t work out, Nintendo guys aren’t interested in third party stuff (enough). Look at REmake on gamecube; a fantastic game that thry just didn’t want to buy. When Capcom realised just how good RE4 was they desperetly went back on any exclusivity to get it fucking out there.
Suddenly 15 years later and REmake gets a multiplatform remaster and everyone is like “HOLY SHIT THIS IS GREAT” and it becomes the most purchased digital game ever on PSN
>MHW only sold because normie console with high marketing budget.
Didn't work for SFV
MHW sold because the beta was fun as fuck and SIMPLE to boot. You got your character, chose a weapon, joined a quest and got matched up. BAM. Though, after playing MHW for a while, I get why they did it the way they did.
Lets hope that accelerates the PC release and that they won't do paid DLC en masse
>what went right?
more like what went wrong in all the other games, because MHW if even casuals now buying it is because of the lack of games in consoles of the current gen.
there are may people that bought it just to have something to play, and dropped after they competed the story, without giving a fuck about hig rank.
there are almost no new Mosnter Hunter fans than before, nothing is changed other than capcom this time got the marketing right, not like with Generation/X, where it was ported in the west after they already announched XX in japa. Who the hell buy X when everyone knows that the good version of the game is XX, like 3U and 4U, and capcom even blamed west for the alck of sales
What the fuck was their sales target? Were they seriously predicting 6 million? Bold fucking estimation for MonHun but fuck me I guess there were right.
>Didn't work for SFV
because it look awful with that retarded spastic graphic.
>Sup Forums gets mad when a good game doesn't sell well
>Sup Forums gets mad when normies start buying their japanese games
6 million is a realistic goal for most large companies these days. Usually new games are around 12 million on sales estimates, and that's for shit like the new Tomb Raider games.
>Sup Forums is one person
common mistake
This fucking thread man. Maybe stop calling them normies and genuinly realise that people didn’t want the Nintendo product. What? Don’t think thats true? Look at all the people snapping up WiiU ports for the switch right now, nothing changed about the games themselves it was just on the wrong fucking platform. They got their marketing down with the switch though, kudos.
>Sup Forums gets mad
Yeah... that’s kind of the entire reason people come here, to bitch
All but the most wildly popular holiday season AAA games hit even a 5 million sales target to my knowledge. It's why so many games are considered failures despite selling millions. Even stuff like Zelda and Uncharted only hit around the 4-7 million mark after over a year. MonHun must have had a really big budget, it's nice that something that seemed so niche could not only have so much money behind but also meet expectations.
How many hours did it take them to find the options menu in Okami again?
No clue, endgame is shit though.
Shipped =/= sold
>”HAS ALREADY SOLD OVER 6 MILLION COPIES”
no more fightans only MH now
Well, time to act like a bitch again because it isn't on PC yet.
Nah. It's pretty likely that Capcom's expectations were that MHW would sell over 1M in the west in less than a month.
>make shit games
>win shit prizes
Not the point, that guy said shipped not sold. The articale says sold.
Appealing to the casuals while paying streamers to advertise the game for them.
This. I shilled this game at work and I had a lot of Pubg normies saying it was too complicated.
Yeah. My hunch's that around 1M of those shipments have been already sold on the west alone, but Capcom's waiting for the end of the month to announce solid sales numbers to avoid what happened to FFXV.
>what went right?
They should add damage meters and gearscore and it'll be perfect
Monster Hunter goes to Nintendo for five years, staggering and dropping sales. Monster Hunter goes back to Sony, and the series manages to do PSP numbers in less than a month.
