Does it still hold up?
Does it still hold up?
You bet your fucking ass it does
To think this had MASSIVE system requirements back in the day
Beat it last month on the hardest difficulty.
It does.
The alien ship level is one overblown meme along the levels of the water temple.
I can't imagine how anybody found that area confusing.
VTOL missions were also piss easy.
>tfw Crysis wars is dead
True. I cannot fucking believe people used to complain about the vehicle handling in this game. Literally more casual than battlefield
Nah, eye candy with no substance back then. Not an eye candy anymore and still no substance today.
Maybe you should be publicly executed
This came out in 2007...nothing in 2007 was on this level
yes, it and warhead are great, avoid 2.
>an 11 year old PC game looks and runs better than alot of modern console games
I fucking hated those small fans. They were so fucking loud after certain time passed.
It didn't even hold up in 2007 except graphically.
I always love going back to look at old graphics cards. Good god I remember thinking how fucking new this shit looked, and watching them unveil newer and newer models.
It definitely does, one of the mandatory games on every PC I have
>all those dumb underage faggots who played the 360 version and have no idea what the game is actually like
it's like playing a realistic Deus Ex game with only action, how could you not like that ? It's just plain fun.
I really want to give this game a try because it looks like a Predator sim, but I hear the game goes to shit towards the middle and you start fighting aliens. I guess for $5 you can't really go wrong.
I don't even know how many times I played this game.
Basically every fucking time I updated my config.
And I started with an Athlon3400+ and radeon 9700 at 800x600 hyper low details@ 15-20ish fps.
Now it runs butter smooth, maxed out at 4K.
Just took 10 years to get there.
It's starting to show its age, but, not so much.
Actually, when I tried out my 1080Ti, my Brother who was there, was very impressed by it.
Somehow, it seems he never saw me play it.
And that's coming from someone that told me Rise of The tomb Raider looked like shit, when I think it's one of the most beautiful game ever.
Well the game is not great, but technically, it's a marvel.
Maybe he's just not used to 4K. It does marvels with Crysis, especially with all the vegetation.
it's called a blower fan and they still use them for reference cards
The best thing to come from this games were hypermodded crysis:wars servers
Why do.
You type.
Like this.
?
yes. graphics are shit nowadays, which happens when game is 10yo, but gameplay is fucking great. later maps don't take advantage of it, but first two-three levels are sandbox fps heaven, with many many ways to utilize your powers and AI that actually lets you plays around a bit.
plus it's one of best "feel OP" games
>first section, after you find aztec
>"switch to cloak mode to sneak in undetected"
>switch to fast mode
>run through upper cliff, fly over group of enemies
>switch to power
>grab one, throw him into other two
>they don't even get a second to react, still playing suprised "whoa" animation
people considered it graphical tech demo when it got out, it was really unjust. this game gameplay was on point, at least in first three-four hours
>graphics are shit
lol
Because
I
don't
wan't my

>confusing.
Wtf, i thought it was amazing area.
We need more Zero G in FPS
It's still on par in performance, it doesn't run as good as it should on anything. It only runs on 2 threads so you're gonna be bottlenecked.
Anyways, disregarding graphics, anyone that hasn't played crysis should.
It's a really fun action game that you can play however you want.
You can play it like a Splinter Cell game, or just go all out War Machine. Although I wouldn't try the latest on the hardest difficulties.
The scenario holds up. It's not that brilliant or original, but at least it's coherent.
Too bad, the sequels weren't really sequels, at last unless you read the novels, which nobody knew existed. Even then, it's just a confusing mess.
What are you talking about, all 4 games are piss easy on anything but the hardest difficulty.
And in the case of 2 and 3, even then you are too powerful
Well, that's how I played it, at least the first time.
I'm sure it took me way too much time to finish it, but I enjoyed it, so it's fine.
You have to understand: it was very hard to identify far away pixels as enemies at 800x600.
crysis is a legitimate 10/10
that explains it then, unless you have perfect clarity of the environment, the enemies will fuck you up for afar
I'll add to all this, that if you play Crysis and like it, you might as well play Far Cry, although this one looks like garbage nowadays.
How's the steam version? Is it broken?
