Will MH: World get a Ultimate/G version?
Will MH: World get a Ultimate/G version?
Most definitely, the question is whether it will be a standalone game for 60 bucks or a G Rank DLC for 30ish
I'd say it's gonna but I'm still on the fence on whether it'll be DLC or a separate purchase. It is Capcom we're dealing with.
Either there will be a sequel to the game, or come time there will be and "ultimate' dlc or something where they just do what g or ultimate would do but instead of a new game its just a big add-on
Or that it will be a $60 game you can buy when the people who own the original can just download the free updates.
no a G version, but a compilation of the DLC, if it egets a G version will be on the same tier (basically a repackage) of what XX was to X
I hope so.
They have a lot to fix and content to add that probably couldn't be done with a patch and it's capcom so they want maximum money.
I hope it's FU style where they give you a completely new village that isn't a huge badly designed piece of shit like Astera is.
It will never be free. But expansion DLC would be better than their ages old resell of mostly same game, practice.
If there is, I need a pilebunker, Ball'n'chain weapon, or an actual rocketspear.
>Badly designed
What? It's really easy to navigate. It even has a transport if you're too lazy to walk up stairs.
There is a literally 0% chance they will add any new weapon types so don't get your hopes up
lol if you seriously think capcom is ever going to stop rereleasing games
Isn't that what they've been doing with SFV? I remember 4 had a ton of rereleases but for V they released the Arcade Edition as DLC.
The transport system is there because even the devs realized how badly designed the whole village was and yet it doesn't even fix the problem because every time you come from a quest you still have to run across the whole tradeyard to get to the chain lifts.
Also the village isn't comfy at all and is worse than even Moga visually.
The arcade edition was actually straight up just a patch to the main game, everyone got it.
You know what was really easy to navigate? The old games where the quest board/chef/shop/smith/palicos were all within 5 feet of each other. A good visit back to town involves checking the botanist, run and load into the room, check the tailriders, load in and run up to the smith, check some new gear, run back to the investigations board, then go to the quest board. How the fuck is that easy to navigate? It's like 5 minutes down the drain when it could have been 1. Just imagine if you couldn't eat on hunts too. And god have mercy on your soul if you want to do an arena quest. Asterra is the most poorly designed town in the series.
Hai
Because there's a big staircase that leads right fro m the botanist/farm/investigations to the canteen and smithy?
Besides the point about loading into the room is pointless since you always had to load in new areas to manage your felynes.
Sure it's more complicated than the other games but it's not that bad at all, you can quickly get between all the points of interest. You're really exaggerating how much time it takes, it takes like 15 seconds to run between places.
I wish you started at the same gate you left at though.
I think it's comfy. Got good music too.
The guild hall is pointless.
It has a canteen and the quest receptionist.
and the game doesn't even load you back into it after a quest.
Probably, and it'll probably be handled like SFV Arcade Edition.
>I wish you started at the same gate you left at though.
This. I like to eat before mission during the load so I always take my mission from handler and eat up there.
Also, I don't do multiplayer, but for people who do the fact that they fucked over the multiplayer hub is kinda shitty.
Yeah they definitely fucked up the multiplayer hub, that's the real flaw with the village.
But you could argue the gathering hall is a separate entity entirely, and it's poor design isn't part of the village's design.
>that giant Barroth
Gee, can't wait to fight the giant Anja.
Don't you think that the fact that the devs felt the need to add the lifts means that even they knew how shit the whole place was to navigate?
They didn't even manage to fix it properly with the lifts because you always start as far as possible to the lifts.
Jeez I hope so.
G-rank quests, new sub-species (aka recolors), maybe a new arena (Let's be real, no new areas) and a fuckton of new weapons and armors.
>6k rust Duramboros is back
Would you cry? I would.
But you don't even need the lifts, it shaves off like 3 seconds tops since there are stairs everywhere that connect all the important locales.
Why does everyone assume things like lifts are done as patchwork instead of the intended design from the start?
Because there's literally no mention of using them for fast travel anywhere in the game, and this game has a tutorial and tool tip for everything.
Sadly yes. Capcom loves money too much to pass up the oportunity.
The real question IMO is if their new western fanbase's gonna take the bait or not.
>Sadly yes. Capcom loves money too much to pass up the opportunity
>Sadly
>Pass up the opportunity
???
This your first MonHun friend?
it has a tip when you first use them
just like the arena, the other thing no-one knows about
You should be asking him if this is his first capcom thread.
Doubt it, unless they mix up the G/U release formula.
"The same game but with harder late game quests you'll never reach anyway" doesn't really appeal to the average casual.
Yeah adding a new weapon would take way more work than capcom would ever be willing to put in.
G Rank is good though. It adds a ton of new content to the games. Hopefully it'll just be DLC this time
They should go the SFV route. Make a new disc, but give the update for free for those with the base game.
Protip: MHWorld for PC will mark the G rank release DLC for consoles.
There is no way it'll be free. It's less an update and more an expansion pack
MHW for PC with Customizable quests
It’ll be DLC. A new version if the game is guaranteed to turn off new players.
>MHW for PC and G Rank for consoles come out at the same time
>G Rank is only for consoles
Wait... You can check your tailriders from your room?
Is the game fun of playing solo? Does it scale ? Or is it like playing a raid alone?
After the first safari, you can do it through your housekeeper.
Yes, absolutely. Sometimes it's more fun. I've solo'd every monster hunter I've played and it's never felt like I'm trying to do multiplayer content by myself.
Except Gogmazios.
I have hundreds of hours of solo play across 3 monster hunters. I'd say it works.
I'd like to believe this too. Would be a nice gesture. But I don't have much faith in Capcom these days.
G is more than just content, it's a difficulty tier. G rank monsters get new moves, generally move faster, and take longer to kill.
If they make us pay 30 bucks there better be at least ten monsters and two new zones and old monsters need revised moveset.
Kulu-ya-ku should get the ability to excavate buried blitz era bombs and one shot people in an area with his jump.
>lifts act as easy fast travel across the levels of Astera
>always spawn 100 miles away from it when coming back from quests
It doesn't feel quite as convenient when you're still spending 15 seconds every time you reenter to get to where you want to go.
Oh don't you worry, there will be new monsters and they'll be subspecies. Hope you're excited for Vibrant Kulu-Ya-Ku and Oceanic Lavasioth!
I wish I could replace astera with a menu. It wasn't bad when the town's were small, but spending 10 seconds running between evey menu is fucking annoying.
I'd pay 30 bucks for that
In MHW theres two scales. Solo or multi. Solo is quite easy. a lot of fun
>Oceanic Lavasioth
That makes no fucking sense, what does he coat himself in? Seaweed and barnacles?
salt
>Oceanic Lavasioth
So Plesioth.
So instead of wallowing in the mud or dipping in the lava and then slowly hardening he takes a dip and then basks in a sun for a day?
What's the best kind of ammo to use with a HBG on Zora to pop the zits faster? Stick, Cluster, Spread, or Pierce?
I'm thinking Cluster, but I'm not at all too sure.
>browse MH threads all day at work
>finally get home
>cart to fucking Doggo
>ragequit
I hate having bad days. Fucking Girros that got in the way of my roll.
You mean Plesioth?
You don't want him, trust me
What augment should I get for diablos hammer? I'm guessing affinity since the 10% boost across the entire raw would be much better than a simple raw boost?
I know the feeling. I triple carted in a gold reward investigation and powered off my PS4 in absolute shame
Doesn't affinity only top raw if you have crit boost too?
They need to add more variety. I'm pretty sure that there will be many more flying wyverns but I would prefer a monkey, snake and a bunch of insects.
A centipede would be cool, one end poisons and the other paralyses.
What is it gonna be called? World Ultimate doesn't sound good
What triggers skills like Latent Power?
Hunter's Nightmare.
>stun a monster
>go for Big Bang, Bang Bang or whatever
>monster is flailing his head like a spastic fuck
>my combo misses
>waste the stun because of the recovery
stay in the same area as the monster for some time
Idk I figured that raw has diminishing returns whereas affinity's returns scale with raw. Someone correct my brainlet math if I'm wrong.
>a monkey,
Monkey like Kecha Wacha, which would be nice, or monkey like Rajang, which I can live without.
snake
Please no. I don't remember a single snake monster in MH that I've enjoyed.
Ultimate World
Just MH:U
That's it? For how long? How long does it last?
>Monkeys
Rajang and Blangonga are okay but please no more Congalala.
Is Kecha Wacha a monkey?
>Snake
You don't want this. Trust me.
>Insects
Seltas Queen when?
Also if you think the variety is bad in World, you should fucking see the first two gens. Flying Wyverns and basically flying wyverns were literally 90% of the large monsters. It was awful.
affinity works as such:
all affinity from all sources stacks up to 100%
you deal 125% damage on a critical as defined by that bright slash when hitting
if your affinity is in the negative you can Negative Critical as well for 75% damage.
raw attack is going to be your base damage and is generally the way to go since you can use things like the affinity booster or more preferably Weakness Exploit to push yourself into positive affinity.
You know, I'm surprised they haven't done a centipede yet. They should go full Dune and use the snake body for a sand worm.
>I don't remember a single snake monster in MH that I've enjoyed.
That's pretty normal, considering there's only two.
until you or it leaves, good for arena obvs
And for the sake of the weapon, the first augment of raw gives me 26atk whereas affinity is a 10% boost. I'm assuming that's 2 True attack for hammer. Seems kind of shit versus the 10% boost. But I gotta make sure cuz this streamstone RNG shit is not something I can just throw away.
I thought criticals were the orange numbers. Now, I'm assuming the orange numbers are weak spots, correct?
But I had Latent Power turn off in the arena.
Weakspots are orange. Criticals have a + sign (and maybe other indicators but that's all I've figured so far).
yes, orange is locations where your weapons are effective
And they both are fucking trash.
I saw some people wanting Dalamadur back. Why? Why would you ever want that garbage fight back?
>the first two gens
I'd say only really the first gen. The crabs and beasts added a nice spice of variety. You even had weird shit like Yama Tsukami.
>Get 4 Rathian plates in a single hunt
I don't need these anymore, I just want a gem dammit.
just do your limited bounties, you can get one gold wyverian print per week and you can cash those in for any gem of your choice, though i think you need 3 to buy a gem.
so farm away and if you still fail to get your gem after you have enough tickets just buy it
one ticket's enough
is this model from MH4 or is it some MHO/Frontier model?
you need 1. The 300 is just points that you spend too.
>join Hazaak tempered
>everyone's blade master LS and GS
>chain plant affinity+health booster under him
>just hacking and slashing under it's feets with non-stop staggers
>tail cut off and raped in 5 minutes
That was fucking hilarious. This piece of shit seriously is a loot pinata.
oh is it? my mistake i saw the ticket being listed as 100 points on the gems with a requirement of 300 points. i don't usually need to buy my mats.
yeah, you can counter his only remotely dangerous thing with any sort of cleanser. hell if oyu run miasma decorations he can't do shit to you.
4
coral
There's actually a ton of variety, it's just largely unused.
Just to look at the previous generation, 4th Gen, some of the monster types we got included:
>Frog
>Great White with Legs that can create ice armor
>Flying Monkey
>Stag Beetle
>Stag Beetle Scorpion that can Mecha-Combine with the Stag Beetle
>Spider that wears the dead skin of the two worst monsters in the series (Khezu and Gypceros)
>Mammoth
>Fox with the aesthetics of Coral Highlands to the point that you wonder why the fuck he wasn't there since he does it way better than any of the new monsters
>Octopus/Squid that wears bones and disguises itself as a dragon
>Egyptian Praying Mantis who drives a giant Dragon Mech which he uses his webs to hold it together
>Snake
>FUCKHUEG snake that makes Zorah Magdaros look like a bitch
>Owl
>Sand Whale
>Parrot
>T-Rex with a swordtailglaive anus
>Moth Dragon That you fight several time before the final showdown at the end of the storyline
>giant Octopus that uses bones to disguise itself as a hydra-dragon thing
Also even with the monster interesting monster designs, a lot of them were already a thing.
Odogaron and Tobi-Kadachi are literally Zinogre and Nargacuga with the elements (bleed/OH THE EDGE and electricity) switched
Vaal Hazak is an Elder Dragon that has the power to create a disease unique to him, like Gore/Shagaru Magala
Dodogama is just Berserk Testucabra with Down Syndrome and no color pallet swapping
Nergigante is a swoler Seregios with more limbs
Pukei Pukei is a less annoying Gypceros
Tzitzi-Ya-Ku is Capcom forgetting to put Stun on Pukei Pukei and needing a monster that can inflict it at the last minute
Bazelguese is what happens when Brachydios fucks a Rathian THIS IS THE THIRD FUCKING TIME JESUS CHRIST RATHIAN GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER YOUR BASTARD OFFSPRINGS ARE GETTING WORSE
but pukei can stun if it eats the nuts
FUCK GUYS I CANT GET ENOUGH I NEED MORE MONSTERS TO HUNT WHICH VERSION SHOULD I GET FOR 3DS?
I don't hate on the new mosters in World. What I think should happen, is less Raths and on their place some old fun monsters.
Monster Hunter kinda has the fighting game problem where it's impossible to fit all the good monsters in newest games while also making new ones.
