With greater detail your brain demands other aspects also improve in verisimilitude, so to see the highly detailed, high polygon chicken bobbing exactly like the low poly model, unblinking, face hard as stone, makes it look more 'off' than the less realistic chicken.

Levelling used to be a fun breeze but now it's an exercise in frustration unless you're some pro-gamer cunt.

They massively increased the mob health and damage dealt, meaning that you can only pull one or two enemies at MOST without dying. You have to play WoW like a survival game when levelling, and that's just not how it should be.

This also makes levelling take way longer since killing enemies is much slower. The whole thing is a mess.

They only increased it if you don't have a 110 boosting you through the dungeon. If you're got a max level boosting you then they NERFED the XP from dungeons in order to sell level boosts.

Also I already have full heirlooms, and have for years. I'm still not good enough to level up in this new "hardcore" levelling system.

Vanilla was harder than the game was pre-7.3.5 but it was never THIS hard. The whole reason vanilla WoW took off was because it was a game anyway could play and have fun in, and that's just not possible in this new hardcore levelling system.

Blizzard is trying to spin this as "We wanted to make the game challenging again, like it used to be" and this place is eating that up, but it's bullshit and they're in reality just trying to sell level boosts. The WoW forums and Reddit are NOT happy about this change but this place loves it anyway because it fetishises difficulty no matter what.

The reason vanilla took off was because wc3 was hugely successful and it was a lot of people's first time playing an MMO. Difficulty had nothing to do with it, vanilla was full of stupid bullshit.

One thing vanilla's difficulty was good at was forcing players to actually talk to each other and join up to do things. Have you ever experienced the teldrassil barrow dens? The underwater murloc ships? Fucking moonbrook? Those places destroyed you unless you found another player or two and teamed up with them.

Forcing players to actually interact with each other can only be a good thing.

If it was a good thing, it wouldn't have to be forced. People have to form groups to do dungeons and raids, they shouldn't have to form groups just to do quests.

Nobody talks to each other in modern wow dungeons and raids unless they're screaming at the healer because the party wiped.

Not sure what Mythic dungeon groups you've got into but people are usually quite talkative in mine, at least in the higher levels. I hope you're not talking about heroic dungeons because that's literally babby shit.

It's not the same feeling as spending 5 hours in BRD and you know it.

nah it was that hard. depending on your class you had to literally eat after every mob, warriors especially at around level 40 were a nightmare solo, much easier to spec tank and do stuff with other people.

I've spent way longer than that in Antorus without even getting a single boss down. You might be able to get through Normal without talking but not Heroic or Mythic.
