RTS/MOBA Games

Do you think the player's IQ/Intelligence is what determines on how skilled they are at those types of games? I'm think of Starcraft II, LoL and Dota 2 mainly.

How Korean you are determines how good you are at RTS. How Chinese you are determines how good you are at MOBA.

I think fighting games are a good determiner. But RTS > moba.

its all about reflexes and memory faggots, you are all low iq brainlets anyway

No. It's time played and dedication to memory.

Fuck off cropfag

fast paced/modern real time "strategy" games are based on how good you are at pulling off one of the two fotm strategies but just faster than your opponent, micro is essential at higher levels
MOBAs are the same

fighting games are reflex and muscle memory

the true intelligence based games are actual spreadsheet simulators, 4X, grand strategy or larger scale rts like SupCom

IQ is a meme and only autists are obsessed with it.

RTS, in theory: rock paper scissors, in which you can change your pick to counter the enemy's if you are fast enough. They are games of reflexes, not intelligence.

Starcraft: same as above but units are very asymmetrical and powerful and move in clunky ways and that lets pros make very interesting plays if they are fast enough. A game of reflexes, not intelligence.

MOBAs... they are rock paper scissors on the picking avatar phase, but it's turn based so no reflexes needed. Then the game is similar to the micro aspect of Starcraft, but the clunkiness of movement is gone, your powerful actions actions have big cooldowns and you can only control one unit (mostly). It's a genre where the mechanical skill of controlling several units that move like retards has been exchanged for managing cooldowns. Given Overwatch is considered a low IQ game and it focuses on managing cooldowns, I guess MOBAs aren't about intelligence either.

IQ is not a meme and only brainlets ignore it
>muh emotional IQ

That just tells me you've never played a fighting game. Reflex and muscle memory are requirements to even play. Being able to read and condition an opponent is far more important.

Besides iirc good reflexes are correlated with high iq.

>get a score of 144
>"smart" enough to join the Mensa
>it's full of autists and nerds
Being smart comes with a cost as it seems.

>Besides iirc good reflexes are correlated with high iq.
it's not, it correlates with higher planning ability
the kind of nerves in your muscles and brain are completely different
which is why humans ended up as slow and weak, premeditating and deliberating master minds compared to other animals since ability to plan > ability to act in the moment

mmmm... sniff hehe

there has been a study that shown higher mmr dota players have higher iq

t. the number the internet gave me says I'm really smart so the reason I'm failing in life currently must be the fault of the Jews

by who where when?
is it a curve or is there a breakpoint?

I just googled it and a lot of research correlates intelligence with good reaction time.

but is it premeditated reaction time or reflexive?

>premeditated reaction time
I don't think thats a thing

ASS

Well Destiny is more intelligent than Tyler1 but Tyler one is way higher rank than Destiny I've heard. I don't play LoL though but isn't Tyler a better player than Destiny is..?
