the original trailer had "will be available on dlc" instead of "free dlc character", really big difference and you'd expect them to make the message clear from the start because of good PR. Later on they also tweeted some shit like "we're sorry, we hear you, stay tuned for info". So to me it seems plans were changed later to make the two rwby characters free

not that it actually made a difference in the end I guess. They could've sold the game for $40 + DLC for $30 (including blake/yang) so same shit

Hell no it was planned from the start, they're obviously backpedaling. Mori even said some dumb ass shit about wanting to relay information about the game in small bursts, and that's why they announced Blake DLC without saying it was supposed to be free, they were gonna reveal it was free at a later date.... yeah, I'm pretty sure that's bullshit, it sounds like bullshit and damage control. They wanted to sell her, and Yang as well, and all the rest of the DLC were supposed to be only available through purchase. Now they're free, and the first DLC pack is gonna be free for two weeks.

ArcSys thought they could get away with this bullshit and that people would lap it up much like Capcom thought they could get away with MvCI. And just like it happend with Capcom, they got blown the fuck out and now they're trying to damage control.

I still dont believe mori was behind this bullshitgate, the big suits at arcsys must be the ones.

Having said that, i hope arcsys learned its lesson and respects its fanbase better.
