Yes. All Psikyo shmups and pinball games, and Namco Museum have what they call "Tate mode" which you can toggle in the settings.

Every flat TV/monitor with a standard VESA mount slot (most TV's) can be used vertically. It's not like it requires anything special from the screen in itself.

This. I used the Joycon straps once, an official product, and was repulsed by how it felt to attach and detach the straps. Never going to use them again.

The Switch actually can detect if you rotate the unit. If you take a vertical screenshot in a game, the EXIF metadata stores the correct rotation.
