Why is Ubisoft so good at putting out shitty games, then fixing them into being good games, and slowly getting their playerbase back?

There's just one example I can think of and thats R6

But yeah, if they are determined enough and always have a small dedicated playerbase; it will eventually grow. Both R6 Siege and For Honor are very unique online games so there's that too. You can't really play something like them right now and that's what makes people coming back to them.

For Honor's graphical style and skill-based combat takes a LOT from Dark Souls, which I think attracts that crowd of people more than other games.

>putting out shitty games
Deadlines pushed by the publishing side, not the development side.
>fixing them into good games
Conscious developer choice to focus on fewer games for longer.

If the devs keep fixing this game I can see it getting huge again.

It's almost a carbon copy of Soul Calibur 2.

bump

thematically its not even close

Please keep the shilling For Honor focused, trying to shill the entirety of Ubisoft's boring ass games is offensive to what little intelligence Sup Forums has left me with

Wait I'm out of the loop, For Honor is good now?

no

Yes, its even getting dedicated servers.

Is it free to play yet

Is there any example of such a game?

Nah, but its $20 on steam right now.

Oh so that's why we have shills today, thanks user

For those who have played recently is ghost recon wildlands any good? The PvP mode seems interesting. I heard there were a lot of problems with stupid AI is that fixed? I will be playing solo

No, it's absolute shit. Please don't listen to some guy who will come right about now to say how much fun he had playing it with friends. Both he and his friends were pissed and they would have as much fun flinging poo at a wall at that point. The game is absolute shit

...

no and it will never be, stop being poor

*kills your game entirely*

who?

You can't tell me what to do

The singleplayer is still good tho. Especially if you opt to do everything solo and without bots help. Quite interesting TEEBEEHEE

Should I get For Honor or The Division if I want an multiplayer focused game that will keep me busy for a while ?

I didn't know there was a way to turn the bots off

No, it's absolute shit. The world is shit, the shooting is shit, the stealth is shit, AI is shit, vehicles are shit. There's nothing that isn't shit. It's all 100% shit.

For Honor

division is more of an MMO

does it posses a single player component in case I can't find someone to play with/again ?

you can play any gamemode vs. AI
also it has a 5-6 hour single player story

Don't shit on the game because you got bodied and couldn't adapt faggot.

They gained some respect from me for finally adding dedicated servers.

Don't get For Honor if you don't want to play Multiplayer. It's a -team- fighting game first and foremost. Tell duelfags to piss off. Gitgud. Make friends. Don't get too salty but sometimes it's bullshit.

>Make friends
you lost me

Then forever suffer the wrath of matching up with 4 man premades and getting slaughtered over and over.

Nah man the world is only 65% ish shit, the other 35% is decent to good. It amazes me how there's actual level design in the game. The shooting isn't shit either, it's really fun when you start the game. Then you get too many levels and it becomes irreversibly shit. The stealth isn't shit either, but it's not the greatest. It's serviceable.

It's one of the better 6/10 games I've played, but it's still a 6/10. Gets my APEX UBISHIT badge.

ok well then I'll just keep on playing minesweeper then

I don't really like Ubisoft, but they are great when it comes to supporting their games. The Division lost a huge chunk of the population, but Ubisoft still continues to put out content for the game.

Ubisoft's entire business model is to shit out a rushed unfinished game, market it to death, enjoy great week one sales, then abandon it. Their games always feel so shallow and devoid of meaningful content. Everything with their logo on it is so forgettable. Watch Dogs is a half assed GTA clone. Wildlands is a half assed Destiny clone.

They're no better than EA.

>then abandon it

Except this is not the case you brainlet.

Siege keeps geting updates for 2 years and counting
Division keeps getting update for 2 years and counting
For Honor keeps getting updates for 1 year and counting

The Division and For Honor had virtually no playerbase a month after they released because they lacked content. Who's left to give a shit two years later when Ubisoft finally decides add all the stuff that should've been included at release? Why is it alright for a AAA studio to keep a game in early access yet charge full price for it? Ubisoft is a trash publisher and always has been.

Nah, after watching some gameplay looks like copy-paste from Chivalry, but now with parrying!

For Honor can definitely be played solo. In fact, the current event is completely vs AI and its EXTREMELY popular. The devs are very likely going to make this game more vs AI.

Nah, I think Ubi is pretty fair. Their MTX, at least in For Honor, is very obtainable in game.

Its not out yet is it? planning on trying out the game.

>The Division and For Honor had virtually no playerbase a month after they released because they lacked content.
Its always been alive on consoles the biggest playerbase.

>Who's left to give a shit two years later when Ubisoft finally decides add all the stuff that should've been included at release?

Yeh they shouldve been espers and predict what the playerbase wanted in the beginning. The reason these games work are because ubisoft listens to their customers unlike other devs. 2 years worth of patches for the division, for honor, rainbow six siege, ghost recon wildlands and now even their main game AC is getting updates and patches to continually improve the game.
Totally like EA right, even the lootboxes they have in their games doesnt impact gameplay its just skins and not statboost. Only ac origin is the except here where its for rich fags that cant be bothered fast traveling to a location killing a boss once /loot a chest for the gear.

Totally like EA that has p2w stat boosts locked behind rng lootboxes right. Fuck ubisoft for listening to consumers and keep updating their games despite it already being a success sales wise and instead of leaving it to create a new cash cow they stick to it to make sure it ends up good. Also fuck their small indie games and their other genre games like steep, the crew, mario rabids, south park, grow up, child of light, valiant heart etc etc

Totally like EA that lets people buy shortcuts in their multiplayer games like fifa and bf am i right hehehehe

I’m glad Ubisoft focuses more on games than shameless sequels

Monday actually

speaking of broken Ubisoft games that were patched.
is Unity worth it yet? maybe Syndicate?
>I'm craving some Assassins Creed, but don't wanna shell out $70 for Origins (PS4 + AU$)

Assassins creed games are ass. New game every year, its pretty much EA's Call of Duty.

because that's what I asked, fuckwit.

also
>implying I play them every year on release
I've only played 2 and Black Flag (both for free on 360), and now wanna try a current gen one.

unity is pretty good, if you get it cheap play it.
didnt like syndicate myself, hated the 2 characters thing

the soundscape is actual a rip off of the Dominos Jingle
