Fantasy of all genres

Cartoon

anything but tolkienesque
so tired of orcs and elves

>High Tier

Historic
>Good Tier
Cyberpunk
Hard Scifi
>Overused/Not used enough to determine Tier
Scifi Fantasy
Steampunk
J-Fantasy
>Fuck off tier
Tolkeinesque
J-Scifi

I'm more tired of faggots trying to subvert tropes for the sake of subversion rather than playing shit straight. What was the last game we had with regular orcs and elves?

>tolkein

What is Quake under?

I like them all. Can that be an option? I don't want to choose.

Where does modern fit in?

Post apocalyptic

A man chooses, a slave obeys.

High Tier

Shit tier?

probably mythology, Dragon's Dogma and Demon's/Dark Souls are some of my all-time favorite games

>shit tier

Spaceship
Labrotory
Secret base

Fuck.

we literally had a lotr games not that long ago user

Tolkienesque

>Dragon Age 2
whoever made this image needs to be put in the ground

>no western fantasy

Modern fantasy if that makes sense

lovecraftian/scifi

Gimme that historical genre, nigga

that's also called steampunk

youtube.com/watch?v=wwSirnMSUo4

Age of Mythology is my shit.

Same idea, but also abandoned urban/concrete cities reclaimed by nature, similar to Stalker or other Chernobylesque games.
Not really sure how to type it.

Hold the fuck up, Lunar turns into Sci-fi setting?

that particular image has steampunk elements, but it's certainly not a requirement of western fantasy in general (although steam technology is an easy way to do the dwarves-are-all-engineers trope in a western fantasy setting)

I agree

>High tier
Urban Modern
>Good tier
Rural Modern
>Overused
Modern Warfare

shadowrun is perfect for me

uh, how is Halo scifi fantasy?

Cyberpunk or historic

When I think of scifi fantasy, I think of Star Wars or Dune. I always thought Halo was closer to the Foundation or Culture series.

mythology or the bronze age when the legendary heroes and gods are still around

"Sci-fi" is not a setting, it's a genre you troglodyte. Cyberpunk is a setting within the Sci-fi genre, you can't have a Cyberpunk game that's not Sci-fi.
>Those Fantasy categories
Never post here again.

>fantasy
Tolkeinesque is definitely my favorite, but I also like J-Fantasy sprinkled in it.

>Sci-Fi
Scifi fantasy hands down, though once again if you blend that with cyber punk ill cum buckets

>representational
Historic. Modern is god damn boring.

...

Mecha fantasy

What's dead space under? I like industrial / hard sci-fi, clean sci-fi like startrek or star wars pisses me off.

history is boring

I really like Contemporary Fantasy.

Just embellish the fuck out of a modern, or even historical, setting with whatever the fuck. Usually works well.

History with Fantasy elements.

Holy shit I need to replay both games.

>Both
Not sure I could stay awake through Madness Returns for a second playthrough to be honest.

It's far from perfect but I definitely could. Fuck the asian level though.

Themes I really like, but not specifically tied to settings:
>modern day city, nighttime, rain
>old age fantasy villages/small towns at night, winter, lots of snow
>space operas
>gothic architecture

Hate:
>post apocalyptic settings
>anything with deserts
>anything with sewers
>military base anything
