Why are games so easy these days?
There's absolutely no consequences for losing or making mistakes, this fucking game let's you undo two whole days in case you weren't ready to take on the dungeon boss.

Yeah, having a save file locked in right before a boss like in FFT is a much better system.

Difficulty does not matter in a JRPG

Would you rather spend 30 hours grinding or just advance the plot?

>dis game too easy for grug
your thread is so shit I won't even post the image

wow..so badass..
it's too easy for him guys

>here's your hard game bro

Maybe it's because you're playing on easy, since you don't get the option to restart the battle on normal or above.

I never even saw this screen because the bosses were so easy.

The only times I died were getting unlucky in the dungeons.

Honestly because fuck re-doing around 3 or 4 hours of gameplay because you fucked up, i dont have that kind of time anymore, much so in a fucking JRPG of all things.

Also i never got that option to show up in Persona 5, either you are a faggot and died too much and that shit showed up or you did some stupid shit like running out of time and that option appeared.

I'm playing on hard tho.

Games got easier with time because new fags/dumb people suck at them.
>persona 3 fes you lose all your progress upon dying

then you must suck dick for that option to appear on screen, like how much do you have to suck to die to some boss unless he has a AoE 1 hit KO attack.

>There's absolutely no consequences for losing or making mistakes,
I mean, in most rpgs it wouldn't make any sense to massively punish the player for getting killed.

>Safety Difficulty
>Defeat in battle does not result in a game over. Even if you die, you will be given the option of retrying.

Making people restart a game for dying only ever made sense for arcades.

P4 let you redo the week and I think P3 did something similar
Dragon Quest 1 on NES revives you at an inn with some money and XP loss
And Pokemon Red does the same but doesn't even take XP

>died on easy difficulty
>claims it's easy
Nigger you just got your balls fucking rocked.

Play on Merciless then faggot

I do think developers don't take save systems seriously enough. But this isn't a problem with new games specifically, e.g. quicksave breaks Thief's difficulty in half.

You can say the same thing about maps, automapping can ruin the mystery of game worlds and reduce the sense of adventure. Quality of life "improvements" are not always a good thing.

>WHEN YOU LOSE AFTER 15 MINUTES OF TRYING TO WIN IN AN RPG GAME YOU SHOULD LOSE 5 LEVELS AND BE SENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE CHAPTER! I LOVE HARDCORE ARTIFICIAL DIFFICULTY!
Fuck off nerd, not everyone has time to be "punished" for playing the game and losing.

because only a lunatic or a no life wants to replay 5 hours just to get back to a boss, time is something people value.

And arcades were meant to be hard so that people pay more money to beat it.

Yeah, that's the point. Harsh punishment if you don't keep paying to continue.

>b-b-but I have a life!!!
Maybe you shouldn't be playing video games.

>playing games for plot
Fuck right off.

Yeah, it was so much better when if you didn't grind in Persona 3 enough for the Full Moon and forgot that you should make a save file representing every single day before and after a Full Moon boss in case of that happening that you'd be forced to effectively start the game over again.
And of course those fucking casuals can't even handle grinding unless they can do it as much as they want instead of being forced to leave after a certain amount of time or otherwise suffer detriments that'd last the entire next day with simple things to deal with like your favorite party members not being able to go the next night with you because you made them sick wit h all the dungeon crawling.
How dare they demand to only need ONE save file for an entire game when Persona 5 already gave them so much hand holding like that. It might as well have a skip combat button with how fucking simple it is now.

If you die to a palace boss it lets you retry regardless of difficulty.

You don't have to select those options if you don't want to.
