They had several significant changes in gameplay, graphics and overall presentation, voiceover, added multiplayer and accessory support (e-reader levels) etc etc, so they're remakes.

What's wrong with World? Legitimately asking. I played it when it was new and I'm unaware of what the differences are.

Yeah they are good. The ports are all zoomed in a bit because of the small screen of the GBA, and their colors look washed out because they needed to be brighter for the lack of backlight in OG GBA.

There will be autistics in this thread that say 2 is shit because of “muh artistic vision” or World being shit because Luigi looks different.

The SMA4 release on Virtual Console includes all the eReader levels, which is pretty fantastic.

They’re all fine.

That being said, it’s pretty easy to emulate the NES and SNES versions on portable devices now. The portability was the nice thing about the GBA ports but makes them not so unique now. Plus, the GBA ports have brighter & washed out colors to compensate for the fact the original GBA didn’t have a backlight.

I don't see why they would make the game look shittier on purpose.

Interesting, so taking overscan into account it's pretty much the same horizontally, always thought it was smaller. A lot lost vertically, though.

I always felt this was a much bigger deal with ALttP where the boomerang is programmed to stop at the edge of the screen so it has shit range if you throw it north or south.
