Why do you guys fellate this game so much?

Why do you guys fellate this game so much?

>bad level design
>every level is almost the same theme
>only 7 levels (8 if you count bowser's lava boat)
>fludd make platforming too easy
>missing many moves from mario 64
>laughable final boss fight
>pachinkko / lily pad
>chase shadow mario 10 times
>clean up a mess 10 times
>unskippable cutscenes
>introduced the casual wall kick where you slide down the wall and lose all your momentum
>no bowser levels (except the shitty last one where you have to steer a ship thru lava)
>yoshi is pretty useless and dissolves in water
>half the missions arent platforming focused
>slow, unsatisfying mechanics that lack the tactile feel of 64
>shitty character and enemy designs
>no long jump
>no crawling
>no punching or kicking
>blue coins
>game advancement is based on particular shines/levels not total #

There is literally NOTHING on this board I hate more than Sunshinefags. I can smell them from behind my monitor

I’ve never seen anybody claim sunshine is a great game. Every Mario platformer after 64 has been shit.

its comfy
but also the blue coins sucked

gamecube kiddies are finally old enough to post on Sup Forums

>mfw realizing it's very likely that someone whose first game ever was Sunshine is legally old enough to post here

Do you seriously believe kids actually obey the site rules and wait until they're 18 to come here? The state of this board says otherwise.

>Why do you guys fellate this game so much?
the fuck are you on about? Sup Forums hates sunshine now.

Sorry, wrong pic

...

>every level is almost the same theme
>Large plaza hub with building to jump across and awnings to bounce off of
>Cozy town with Windmill
>Harbor with lots of metal girders and moving parts
>Amusement park
>Haunted hotel and casino
>Large open bay with mountain walls to scale
>Treetop village

Just because the game features a consistent world doesn't mean all the level themes are the same, you retard. I'm sorry there's no deserts, jungles, snowy areas, or sea of clouds localized on a single island.

>B-but they all have a beach!

It's a fucking island.

100%-ed this yesterday. It was tedious and frustrating and at the end I just felt like I wasted my time.

That's why people who like Sunshine don't 100% it. Few games are worth completing to 100%.

I don't, I've never liked it. Luigi's game was superior for once (and only once)

I enjoy 100%ing most games. Sunshine sucked.

>bad level design
>fludd make platforming too easy
>missing many moves from mario 64
>no long jump
>no crawling
>no punching or kicking

I know this is a copypasta but I've never understood these complaints and see them all the time: Unlike in 64, the levels in sunshine actually have platforming pathways all across the levels and not just along a single path, and by extension players are rewarded far more for creative platforming and there's a higher skill ceiling even with fludd. As far as missing moves, and fludd, the slide chained ooff other jumps (webm related), and the spin jump make them obsolete anyways;

>Sunshine sucked.

Not if you only play it till the ending land maybe a bit after ike a normal person instead of an OCD autist.

>Odyssey recently released and people are quick to be contrarian and praise the last game in this style
>they saw a video of neat speedrun tech and decided that makes it super-deep and the best 3D Mario
>they actually value the setting in Mario games and appreciate that platforms are contextualized with the world, that levels are visible from each other, etc.
>Sunshine came out when they were 12

Pick one

We don't? the game is massively divisive on Sup Forums and it's generally considered the second worst 3D Mario behind 3D World.

>play it like me
No. Not everyone plays the same, if the game developers put content in, I have every right to see it so fuck off you moron

B-but my favorite Youtuber said that these were bad, so they're bad!

All of these.

Why do you show up every thread it’s mentioned there’s no long jump in Sunshine with the same retarded Webm every time? For the googol time, you could do the same thing in 64 so it’s not a replacement.

The only reason developers put throwaway content into games is for people who bitch about games being too short, so completionists get the short end of the stick 90% of the time.

It's faster and more fun than other Mario games, which is good enough for me.

So you admit the game’s padded out then? Because 64 and Galaxy don’t have throwaway content, and 100%ing them doesn’t suck.

Nigger, I don't give a FUCK if the game is padded out. Take your pathetic gotcha and shove it up your asshole.

>doesn’t deserve

I just really like the dedication to a consistent atmosphere. It makes it very immersive and the levels are pretty large, and despite all being tropical they do have an interesting theme going on. It just really feels like Im having an adventure on this beautiful tropical island, the game really does feel like a "visit", unlike other Marios that just feel like hopping from one random world to the next.

>imagine being this mad that someone didn’t enjoy a game you happened to enjoy

Literally just nostalgia factor for me.
I know all of it's flaws and how it was most likely rushed, but fuck man, it was one of those comfy games to play.
64, Galaxy, and Odyssey made be technically better games but I'll always stick to Sunshine.

Sort of how people prefer Melee over other Smash games when its objectively shit

> 100%ing 64 and Galaxy doesn't suck

cmon, you're really giving 64 and the Galaxy series too much credit here.

>slow, unsatisfying mechanics that lack the tactile feel of 64

LITERALLY >muh gamefeel, holy shit

I remember mario having a turning radius instead of just going where the stick was tilted and punch/dive being context sensitive lending so well to SM64's "satisfying" "tactile feel"

Not really

>every person that posts an image must be the same guy!

>For the googol time, you could do the same thing in 64 so it’s not a replacement.

If it can serve the same purpose as those actions, yes, it is a replacement, and renders said actions obsolete.

Because it's fun. Simple as that
>inb4 muh artificial fun/fun is subjective

You could do the same thing in 64 so it’s not a replacement.

By the way it’s also the same file name every time so fuck off

It was my first 3D Mario and I enjoyed it immensely. What I heard from older Mario fans back in the day was that they were deeply disappointed with Sunshine, so much so that some considered it to be bad, which I didn't get at all. Having played the other 3D mario games by now, I can definitely see that it is a step down from 64 and a weaker 3D mario game, but on its own, it is a great 3D platformer and the FLUDD gameplay makes it stand out. You can't tell me the different between Galaxy 1 and 2 outside of muh Yoshi.
