Same, I got during the last steam sale. It simply has aged badly, which is understandable as it's pretty old. My main complaint is with the controls, movements are just too fucking exaggerated, and cause most of my deaths, either from the environment or from not being able to target enemies smoothly enough. Navigating the ladders and shit is hell. Combat and the "puzzles" are pretty boring. Story is fairly sparse. Really there's not a lot to keep me motivated, I guess the only appealing thing about it is a somewhat nifty sci-fi setting and atmosphere, and a charming sense of humor. It's not terrible enough to make me give up, it's at least playable enough that it's not impossible. So, I will finish it, but unless things improve drastically towards the end, I will be forced to give it a thumbs down.

The best part is going through Black Mesa with just your glock and crowbar. Once you hit the stupid hydra thing it's kind of downhill from there. Somewhere through Xen is also where all of my playthroughs stop.
