But as to the two points you're comparing I disagree with Jim. I think companies should be more transparent about making it known games have micro-transactions, but at most it should only give it a T rating. I think if teens are able to work, then they should be allowed to spend that money on video games if they want. But I also think that the industry needs to self regulate it before they get fucked like casinos. Just be more transparent on costs and winning rates and people can't really blame the games anymore, it would be down to self control.
And with guns I think the laws are fine, at least where I live. 18+ for shotguns and rifles, 21+ for pistols. And concealed carry is also 21+, which requires classes and time at the range. Plus to legally purchase any weapon you have to go through a background check. I bought a pistol a few years ago and I gun shop had to call several people and fill out many forms. So I don't see what else can be done to prevent it without amending the Bill of Rights. It is a social problem, not a legal problem. People need to change.

Because I do video game reviews in my spare time and I put a lot of effort in them. I'll always be a nobody and that's fine because I'm proud of what I put out myself but it hurts to see literal clowns take a medium that I love and abuse it while being undeservedly supported in the $10,000+ range. When Mystery Science Theatre makes fun of movies, it's genuinely funny. When Angry Video Game Nerd does it, there's a fair amount of passion and craftsmanship in most of his videos. When Jim Sterling does it, it comes off as extremely forced and his opinions are garbage. That's why I care. I shouldn't but I do.
