I've never seen a game which doesn't do that

>Futuristic space or cyberpunk setting
>Soundtrack is Synthwave
name 10 games

Orchestral is common for space games, no? Also Warhammer setting typically has very different music.

>ancient medieval/fantasy setting
>soundtrack is synthwave and techno

To make electronic music, all you need is a computer, it doesn't even have to be a particularly good one. Sure there are electronic musicians that use actual synths, but most don't.
That is to say, it's cheap and kids can get into easily. Why buy a guitar when you can just pirate ableton?
Cyberpunk settings are usually about poorfag resistance members or whatever, so it makes sense for the soundtrack to be all electronic.

>medieval/fantasy setting
>generic """EPIC""" orchestral music
every game or movie

While Stellaris has a nice soundtrack itself, every track completely sounds the same.

Try to find differences between these tracks:

Its more of an Magitech/Steampunk setting though

Especially when it has no recognition value so it could be exchanged between different games without anybody noticing it.

That's not even synthwave, that's just generic "space" music, listen to the Mass Effect 1 ost and you'll notice how similar they are

So what genre is generic space music called?
