>Replay game from childhood
>It's as good as you remember
Replay game from childhood
Age of mythology.
Donkey Kong Land 3
>replay game from childhood
>not even nostalgia can disguise how terrible it is
Fucking Kinnikuman
Enclave.
Any maybe Freedom Fighters if I wouldn't have tried it on hard last time.
Yo Noid!
Speedy Gonzales SNES, it was like a bad Sonic clone
>It's even better because you understand the mechanics better
basically zeldas
Freedom fighters was the SHIT
this
Ratchet and Clank
Banjo Kazooie
>Play that game you wanted to but didn't have the system for as a kid
>It blows your expectations away
...
Final Fantasy IX
Impossible Creatures
This is the goddamn best feel ever. Like wading your way through a game as a kid while not knowing how any of the mechanics or shit work, but still finding it enjoyable. Then you come back to it 10+ years after and because you're not a retarded kid you can take advantage of all of those things and actually be good at it.
Castlevania 1,3,4 and pretty much any of the Metroidvanias.
I enjoyed them all. Even if the latter weren't exactly 'childhood'.
...
>Find a musician who you can't possibly hear enough of
>Find out he did the soundtrack for one of your favorite games from when you were a kid
Mass effect 1
Crash Team Racing
The story mode is awesome and the controls are tighter than a 15 year old
For me, the games were NFSU2 and "F-16 Multirole Fighter" by Novalogic. I played the shit out of them while never bothering to learn the deeper mechanics like the LANTRIN pod or anything about tuning in NFSU2.
Here we have the wild newfag in his natural habitat, the Sup Forums board. The newfag appears to be confused by the image of a non-reddit wojak, and thus has retaliated by posting his favourite reddit-wojak from his collection. How fascinating.
So much this. This was the case for me with Final Fantasy 7 and the whole materia thing
Baldurs gate
>replay game from childhood you could never beat
>still can't fucking beat it as an adult
Maybe I'm just bad
Hell yeah.
Found my old SP a 2 weeks ago and I've already put 22 hours on it.
Spyro 1 and Hercules for PS1
>replay game from childhood once a year
>get and better and better to the point you can 100% it in one sitting
>replayed Thief: the Dark Project a few weeks ago
>realised how insultingly easy it is
>tfw had to remove this casual shit from the list of my favourites
>play hard game from childhood
>its harder than you remember
I have such good memories playing this game with my brother. It felt like adventure, with great music.
>got together with my brother last year after not seeing each other for 5 years
>hook up the old Gamecube and our GBAs all of which still work great
>played this gem again together and it was just as good as the first time
It's one of the few games I really wish they would give us a remaster with online multiplayer, or a proper sequel.
How fucking tight are the controls.
100% it a couple months ago and its still fucking amazing
alteration
>you now can understand the language and finally get what's going on
Heart of darkness was this for me. Game is solid as hell. Spooked me as a lad though
>replay Spyro 1
>it's actually absolute garbage
>worlds don't have any NPCs in them like Spyro 2 and 3, feel completely empty and soulless
>controls are unresponsive and floaty
>basic charge has oversteer like a motherfuck for no reason
>input delay on jumping
>turning is slow as shit
>cant flutter on triangle out of a glide, just fall back down to the ground like a rock
>tons of jumps where you just waste a life because you have to do a jump frame perfectly at the highest point of the jump/jump off the ledge at the furthest point or you won't make it, as there's absolutely no wiggle room
>no groundpound
>no fun enemies, everyone can be flamed, and if they cant and are wearing silver armor then you can just charge them
>no point to actually collecting all the gems, not like you can spend them on anything like in 2/3
It's actually crazy how garbage Spyro 1 is if you're spoiled by Spyro 2 and 3 having better features and didn't play 1 in a long time.
Freelancer
>replays shining force 1 and 2
>The game still held up to this day
What a time to be alive
fpbp
kys
Silent Hill 2 for me, there was a time where I used to beat it twice a day
>replaying S3&K
>actually knowing how to get past the puzzle in the Carnival level instead of spending hours jumping up and down
>can get all emeralds without having to replay the first levels over and over again
Remake for the switch when?!?!
>Replay game from childhood
>Its even better now that you know how things works
THIS GAME WOULD JUST BE AMAZING ON THE SWITCH OMG IMAGINE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES ON A 720P LCD SCREEN
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
>game has a story that deeply moved you as a kid
>replay it when you're older and realise the story is actually garbage
What's her name, Sup Forums?
Sonic Adventure 2
show me on the doll where the switch touched you user
Grandia 2.
I was in middle school at the time and raised by devout Catholics, the idea of the Church being a lie and the Pope being the final boss was fucking amazing. I went back when they re-released it on PC and wish I hadn't
What's wrong with wanting to play games on the switch user? Are your parents too poor to buy you one?
you're replying to the wrong person, he clearly likes the switch
Freedom Fighters definitely still holds up today.
Soldiers of Anarchy.
Pretty awesome RTS type game I got in a PCGamer demo disk as a kid. Went back and played through it a few months ago for the third time.
Games with inventory management and vehicle management get me hard.
this guy posted it:
>tfw Dark Dawn only made it worse
>he
Did I ask you to answer for him user? No? Then why do? Why pretend to be someone else?
Sonic 2. Hard as fuck as a kid, crazy fun as a young teen, still actually enjoyable as an adult with gaming exhaustion.
>You can understand the language
>Plot is shit
I wish I hadn't replayed Digimon World DS
It's like, hey, I can jump out of a roll, mother fucker.
Lego star wars
Fighting games in general
Warcraft 3
final fantasy 2.
used to look up to ceicelso damn much, but looking back on it now it was a really generic rpg story.
Not relevant when such good games are to be played at least 5 times a year
Max Payne
>replay jrpg from childhood
>get stuck on a boss so reload to a save I made years ago around that boss
>I was better at the game 5 years ago
I fucking love this game
GodHand
Any Contra game. How the fuck did I beat them as a kid.
Is this game still good?
I never really did shit in video games as a kid except for run around the map and "pretend". Like playing with action figures or something
>see upcoming game screeenshots in a magazine
>never get to play it until i'm older
>when I do I realize the screenshots of the magazine ended up being scrapped content
wrong pic
Sequel NEVER
I wish the reboot wasn't tied down to the movie, it ended too soon
>replaying a game from a childhood
>have a great time
>can't talk about the game with anyone because nobody else played it
Aged like a fine wine
This game is only good for graphix. It's pretty, but at it's core it's just a less interesting zelda clone.
This game has really good multiplayer but the main game is really short. One of the better games on the gamecube imo.
>Replay a game from childhood
>Realize how bad the controls were
Guitar hero/rock band. I keep thinking I'm fired but if I pick up a control I can go until the pain in my perm damaged finger is too much
S3&K
Thanks. I remember the multiplayer maps for Assault being pretty good
Skyrim
This fucking game, holy shit.
Last time I played this was at my cousins house like 14 years ago.
Ahhhhhh
Jet Set Radio, now it's Future that I want.
>Digimon World
>Spyro Series
OSRS once everyone signed back up
>play game from childhood again
>you cant handle the controls
I can barely play spyro since I have to use a d-pad to move around, just feels weird
Sonic 3K will always be good to me
This
Halo trilogy
I agree with you. I play through them all the time.
>Replay game from childhood
>It's as good as you remember
>You're still garbage now and it taints the experience
I still like the story of the first 2 games.
This thread is full of excellent taste. Makes me wonder where the shitty threads that keep showing up on this board come from.
It's a fucking 10/10
I love JSR but this has much better controls and gameplay. Xbox support when...
>replay game from childhood
>it's as good as you remember
>but your life and self are much worse dragging the experience down
Stop
