In anticipation for his return, I was watching this:

I don't remember 4B+K being so safe, that's cool. Wonder if it'll stay that way. I'm also excited for the new things he's getting in SC6.

SP CONTENT WHEN
I've never played SC, are the combos like Tekken?
They said they're focusing more on the story this time, now that they have the time and money to fully flesh it out.
HISAKO WILL BE IN SOUL CALIBUR VI!
Essentially. Tekken is 4 buttons and back-to-block, right? SC is 3 attack buttons and a dedicated block button.
>focusing on the story
That doesn't reassure me at all, it could be just as bad as 5's! I'm talking important stuff like Weapon Master mode or that conquest mode from 3. Speaking of 3, even those individual story modes for each character would be good.
>it could be just as bad as 5's
Did you forget the second half of my sentence?
>a dedicated block button
Well that's interesting.
Hisako in SC6 as a guest would be pretty dope.
What's the hypest SoulCal tournament set you guys can think of?
youtube.com
Yeah, it's overall very similar to Tekken, but typically the BnB combos are easier. Or at least shorter. You normally won't be stuck in the air for 3 seconds if you fuck up.
The combat relies on horizontal strikes with square, vertical strikes with triangle and kicks with circle meaning the game is more about deciding about which attack vectors to take.
The one I had at my house every weekend with my friends.
SC is basically an action game that plays like a fighter. It's the only fighting game with 8-way run.
What if the writing is still bad? Big money don't matter much then. What even happened with 5's story? Was it outsourced or something?
They only had a few months (8 I think?) to do the entire game. If you look through the artbook for SCV, there are all sorts of relationship charts, story blurbs, and glossaries whose contents go unmentioned in the game. There were clearly tons of ideas that had to be cut due to time constraints.
don't make me feel like this user
Spending hours creating your own characters then fighting your friends characters, learning to read your friends strategy, everyone in the room getting hyped when a game gets down to the wire. Those were the best of times.
I really want to see another newcomer, Groh seems cool but his design is very anime. It would be cool to have a more grounded dude to contrast him.
When will we see ivy's clothing damage.
In the next couple weeks when we get more gameplay.
Isn't his father another alleged new character? It'd be funny if his dad were a completely normal dude.
That's honestly what I'm expecting. That or a big old dude with a beard and a giant weapon.
>mfw he ends up detesting his sons faggotry at every chance he gets
"Jesus Christ will you take off that stupid anime eye patch and stop dying your hair blue!"
"You don't understand me DAD! It's not a phase, this is who I really am!"
The twist is that he has chunibyo too.
Who else is guaranteed?
Raphael
Voldo
Maxi
Astaroth
Seong Mi-Na?
what are the chances of Cassandra?
Pretty high, I think. How much younger than Sophie is she?
Considering her outfit, I wonder how much could she lose.
probably just the gold bits and maybe some ripped up legwear
Block buttons are the standard in 3d games, Tekken is an outlier.
Hopefully her tits and ass fall off.
she was 22 or 21 in soul calibur 4
shed be about 16 in SC1 but im not sure that would be as relevant since zasalamel was added and he was from SC3
Zasalamel is immortal, so he can appear at any time he wants to and look the same.
>inb4 General Raam
half the bloody cast are immortal bud
Not yet they're not!
I'm not a fan of his armor overall, but after seeing his fight style I don't even care. He's going to be fun as hell. Hopefully he has some better alts.
So did that game flop or not? It hung around for a while despite being stuck on Xbone for ages and then that Windows Store where it's a pain to actually install anything
It'll be like Algol where just her necklace thing breaks and nothing else
KI was actually pretty successful for the shoe string budget they gave the devs. No one had hope for it at reveal but it stuck around long enough and was pretty well received. Pretty balanced, shame everyone constantly meme'd and parroted uninformed opinions.
What should I know when learning Maxi for the first time?
That he combos like a motherfucker without you even having to try. Which is great for a newcomer, and bad at the same time. If you're not careful with him, hell just go off doing a string of moves, and an experienced opponent will recognize them from a mile away, and wreck your shit.
The key to, Maxi is learning his moves, and figuring out the best way to combine all of them. Keep yourself in control of him, instead of letting him play you, if that makes sense.
That makes sense. I face Maxi players online and never know what I'm supposed to look for and lose horribly because of my lack of matchup knowledge. I decided the best way to fix that is to pick him up myself.
Is GOIN' SOMEWHERE? a high? I don't even know.
Aeon I hope
He's the Eddy Gordo of SC
Easy to mash with, but hard to be good at?
