Why do people play gacha games like Fate G/O or FE Heroes? they require thousands of hours of grinding just to give you a .jpg that does 5% more damage than other .jpgs

I don't see the problem. I don't lay in bed dedicating time to them. I just click randomly most of the time in FGO while I'm busy doing other things at my desk. For Fire Emblem heroes, I just log in for free shit and let it auto play itself. I don't bother actually playing, and just collect waifus.

idk about fgo but a friend of mine really likes fire emblem but i dont so i play heroes to familiarize myself with the series so we can share an interest. also the unit building aspect is pretty fun.
