Have you ever tried reading /vg/ generals? Last time I checked /smtg/ wasn't really that bad, but generals like /pg/, /tsg/, /ink/, /drg/, any MMO general, ect. are god awful and you're better off making threads on Sup Forums even if they'll only survive for five posts.

I liked it. I haven't played the second game but hear it's iffy, but I'll get around playing it at some point anyways.

Overclocked is better than the DS version. It has an 8th Day for some routes, among other improvements. I played with voice acting off, it's not the worst, but Midori got annoying fast.

Nah, the 3DS version is great, and it makes some of the shittier endings less shitty with the bonus 8th Day added on. Plays better. I'd recommend it.

DS2 also plays better, but it's disappointing in other ways. Both are still great games, though.

One route takes all your demons from you and makes you fight with only your leaders.

I couldn't finish this game because somehow I made it to the very end of the game with only ever having cracked like two skills and now there is literally no possible way for my team to win. My MC's party can handle every fight up until the very last one, but I just can't keep up with it.

He's definitely top tier.

Use the tyrant racial ability to delay your foes turn when you attack them, take more advantage of the demons that can attack at range, and pair the demons that let you move after attacking with either the ones that can increase your movement range or the ones that let you attack twice

I thought he seemed ok. The angels all wanted to steal your free will, but God gave humanity a chance to deal with the problems through a trial.

But then in the law ending, it's the usual HUMANITY FEARS THE ANGELS AND OBEYS.

Day 8 lets you tell them to fuck off though, and God is suddenly angry and leaves humanity to its own devices.

Most of the humans are fine with the angels and say it's better. Humans still have most of their independence but if say some guy tries to murder someone an angel will pop up and smite him.

I grinded like crazy to make an OP demon.
In the end my mage MC just became the healslut for Kaido.

What a disgrace that was.
Overpowering the boss was still hype as fuck though.

To be fair the same can be said with terraria, FE:H, kingdom come deliverance and FGO.

i just started playing this myself, and i think im going to stop, this game is just irritating.
from allies appearing instantly from nowhere and killing enemies you are trying to skill crack, to enemy demons one hit killing members of your party. every stage has something that pisses me off.
im up the the beldyr fight and wanna know if it gets any better? because if not im kinda out of here. a real shame because i loved loads of other SMT games.

Mobility skills are just as important as damage. You should never neglect them, even if that means carrying demons who are ten levels behind.

At no point through the game are you supposed to be one-hit killed though, there has to be something wrong with your tactics.

But DeSu2’s ayylmao fights > most DeSu1’s Bel fights
Yamato’s fight was also a good time and by good I mean took me longer than anything other than SNK bosses

Pendragons OHKO most of my demons in the Beldyr fight with their physical skill. Some other enemies have managed to do it too when they hit a magical weakness.

It's rough as an SRPG, I'll give you that

The game is really good and ranks really well in the megaten series from both gameplay and story.
So time to Git gud or get laughed at.

God I love the atmosphere in this game. They really nailed the breakdown of society over the course of the 7 days. You could really feel the sense of dread looking over your emails at sunset and knowing you'll probably die tomorrow.

A lot of the fights in DeSu 1 feel interchangeable, there's a way too large gap between the first Bel and the other ones, Social Links lite, especially the joint skill crack, make the gameplay more interesting, and, generally speaking, DeSu 2 has better and/or more likable characters. I will say this though, I played the original DeSu 2 which I believe didn't have the aliens stuff, but I believe that the original DeSu 2 is better than both the original DeSu 1, and Overclocked overall.

Now that you mention it, that seems to be a common trend.

I agree that DeSu2's gameplay is an improvement in almost every regard, but the story and characters weren't very interesting. The Social Links thing gave them way more quirks and whatnot through the story which has no bearing on the actual story, but outside of that the DeSu1 characters and setting were way more engaging to me.

The law(Amane) ending of DS1 is the best law ending of all smt serie really.

Other way around, in devil survivor 1 the specific map conditions or gimmicks like the bel fights had a major influence on strategy, whereas in devil survivor 2 the fights all felt similar because all my characters were running around one-shotting enemies
