too bad its was clearly rushed out.

How so?
Even then, why does that matter? Some of the best games ever released were rushed out - in a much worse state at that.

>mfw the reporters you can help turn out to establish Silhouette

Thanks for the wallpaper, man.

Can I do lethal stealth melee kills in MD or is it the same shit from HR?

agreed, and breach was hella epic!

>Breach somehow detracts from the main game

Still prefer HR tho, this one feels a little bit unfinished. I guess you cant have a deus ex game with a plot centered around a small scale event, you need to travel across the globe to different hubs or else it doesnt feel like you are facing a global conspiracy. Liked it a lot and currently playing trough it on permadeath mode but still i would have enjoyed a second hub, prague is not THAT detailed for how small it is anyway, it should be archievable to make a second hub.

Name one good side quest in the game, as a person who played through this I'm genuinely interested to hear what side quest was good in the game.

I don't think you're giving Prague enough credit - it's got so many places to explore compared to the other Deus Ex hubs. Not that I wouldn't have loved another hub.
All of them are great.
The standout is a two-parter; this is the first bit:

I liked the one with Eliza. Also the one with the serial killer memory transplant, which probably exists to set up how the clone you play as has Jensen's memories.

All the game needs to be absolute perfection is a sequel that continues the story

You now remember the Pre-Order Rewards shit.

What was wrong with his hairline in this game? HR was okay but here i was afraid it would eat his forehead.

I liked that it made true stealth options viable. And when I say true stealth I mean being a ghost. If you ever have to do a stealth take down on someone it means you failed at the stealth. Not only was it viable but the game even tossed a chunk of XP at you for doing it so you didn't feel like you were losing out

Yep, a third and final installement that resolves all the subplots teased on this one would at the very least complete mankind divided and create a single full experience even if that one feels as short at this one, as long as it gives closure.

The finished teilogy would also help eliminate the incomplete aspects of each one when played as single experience

>That slog of no quests to actually do around level 40 where you just grind.
>A huge chunk of the specs in the game are meant for PVP or flat out non viable for anything outside of 5 mans.
>Warrior is the only viable in the tank bar none when it comes to raiding.
>The mana cost of final level spells meant you actually had to use lower levels of spells to stay in the fight.
>Some classes were completely useless but brought to the raid for one single spell.
>Cap on active debuffs a boss could have so most classes werent even allowed to use all of their damage.
>Aggro mechanics that would punish Rogues and Warlocks for actually hitting all their buttons
>The absurdly long time it took to level up
>No quest hubs, quests were scattered around the map. or even better. The cases of moving NPC WHO WOULD TRAVEL BETWEEN ZONES
Vanilla had its redeeming features but I don't think the people who praise it so much even played it.

but they padded that sequel a bit too hard and got cancelled

Uhhh

Deus Ex:MD was a demo for their new shiny engine

A 26 hour long demo?

>Quest hubs are a good thing, exploring for quests is bad
Aaaaaand you ruined everything you said before, well done retard.

>needing to grind
I can't remember the FIRST patches, but with 1.12 you could level without ever running out of quests if you had a decent route.

Main storyline is nowhere that number. Even if you complete everything you will still clock at 22 hours. I'm talking multiple playthrough for different "ending"

>Fake ID sidequest has the unfortunate side effect of getting one unlucky civilian sent to the Utelek
>pirate radio sidequest can, if you choose one route, lead to getting them caught and arrested
>finding them arrested, you also find the civilian who was sent to the Utelek being transferred and stopped at the same police checkpoint
>you can help both of them escape the city into France
>they even set up the Silhouette terrorist organization later seen in DX1 that Nicolette Duclair is a part of
these sidequests man

>best hub
>takes 20 minutes to load between the north and south sides and is totally unskippable

Whoa wtf? I never knew that. Glad I helped them

I did absolutely everything across 2 playthroughs and hit 65 hours lad.
You probably didn't even know about the unlisted quests like the policeman whose been stalking you and has pictures of you and the black chick in his apartment.

I didn't like the game but what a cutie. Though police girl, eliza and catlady are cute too.
Did you rike her tweest?

A shame the only follow-up it got was in the Adam goes to jail DLC

The ending to A Criminal Past is fantastic
youtube.com/watch?v=wvpsFB-6b0I
You can even lie about what you did,
and she accept it

>oh no, the loading is unskippable!

do the world a favor and kill yourself

She accepts it because she actually knows the truth anyway because >Illuminati and doesn't want to blow her cover completely
Also remember her talking about the state of Adam's memories during the credits? The DLC's final question is technically all about that

I did. You just need to get good. Always use a GEP gun or equivalent fire power

breach was actually good

Saw it coming. She was an odd duck right out the bat

>You know, Guerrero was right
>About what?
>The terror attack. It never happened.
I don't care what people think - that's pure kino.

I don't think what happened in the DLC actually happened, it's just memories Adam has been given.
Hence

Elias Toufexis did a solid job in all of MD
The writing team also managed to give Adam a lot of great lines

>The writing team also managed to give Adam a lot of great lines
Do you know any off-hand?
I really want to replay it, but probably won't until I've replayed the rest of the series.

If you take down Marchenko non-lethally
>He's more useful in an interrogation room than the morgue

It's a pretty good game. I did a stealth/exploration playthrough with no guns a few months ago and now I feel like being a ruthless, heavily armed killer and invest my praxis points in shit like the dermal armour and recoil dampening. Is the gunplay any better than in HR? From what I seen, it looks better.

So hot, but eliza is best ai waifu. Her being illuminati helped a lot with that choice

>Some of the best games ever released were rushed out
Like?

...

>Not only was it viable but the game even tossed a chunk of XP at you for doing it so you didn't feel like you were losing out
Wot?

You get a ghost bonus for going through areas without leaving any proof you were there that more than makes up for the XP you'd get for tranqing everyone there

Well fuck me, here i was knocking everyone and their mother out like i did in HR. Worth it for the loot and emails, anyway

Just imagine if they had more time, money and an engine that could actually handle combat

Played through MD twice. Really enjoyable but HR had a much better atmosphere.

Mario Party 4.

>tfw ended up going for the pacifist achievement because there was no real reason to kill anyone except for the guys in Switzerland and London
>both were so far in the game that killing any of them would just mean a later playthrough would get dedicated to the achievement
>ended the game with 400 pistol and assault rifle rounds looted just in case

>casually kills the franchise

>casually implements one time use microtransaction praxis kits

Brainlet here, can someone explain to me why this was kino and what Guerrero was right about?

Kotor 2

>ghost bonus more than makes up for the XP you lose
1.wrong
2.you can get ghost bonus while also double close combat nonlethal takedowning everyone
>without leaving any proof you were there
It is actually for never letting an enemy or camera get alerted, but you can kill or destroy everything and leave them lying in the open, as long as nobody else spots them.

Evading enemies or simply killing as opposed to nonlethal takedowns will always leave you missing out on a lot of XP, which was a problem in the first game, and despite the claims that they adressed this, also in MD.

Knocking people out breaks stealth bonus?

Can you actually get lethal ghost? I feel like i tried but never got the achievement

Guerrero didn't believe the shaky Interpol intel about a terrorist attack. Adam got sent to jail to get Guerrero out of his undercover operation so that he could verify the intel. Guerrero insisted on staying undercover in jail because the intel suggesting a terrorist attack just didn't make any sense

It's kino because it means that Guerrero was right, but it also adds fuel to the idea that the event Adam described (what you played) never happened. It's a great way to end the DLC as it's another tease of something in the game (that something happened to Adam over the previous 2 years; there's speculation that he's a clone).
It's also just a very good delivery, along which works with the exchange between Adam and Delara, and the score, to make a satisfying ending.

Doesn't matter, plot was dumb and managed to not understand the previous plot which was already dumbed down from the original. Also, I have never found the designs since HR to be anything but immersion breakingly silly, but that's just opinion.

The main story and pacing of it was shit but the hub and side quests were amazing

>Hire a shitton of 3D modelers and designers
>Forget to hire writers and code monkeys
Barring the blatant pandering in the form of non-slavs in the fucking Czech Republic, city looked great

Way better than Human Revolution.

Sorry, I meant more, what else did Guerrero think that Adam thought he could be right about? I get that the premise of the whole mission was to verify whether or not the info on the attack was good

>blatant pandering
Why is it pandering? People always go on about how Deus Ex made predictions about the future - here's the developers saying there will be more non-Slavs in the Czech Republic.

true dat
shame but what can you do

>People always go on about how Deus Ex made predictions about the future
They meant the first game, not HR/MD

i'd like to play this but my toaster can't handle it, is the ps4/xbone version any good? i always played deus ex on pc

>kotor 2
>being anything more than a 7/10 at best

I know...?

So what the fuck are you on about?

Derk Suls

What? Do you mean the noise the lethal created?I think that in recovering the bomb there is a change in the news, but thats it
Has I said before, considering how small the interactions are , you can make up the personality of anyone except your boss

Jim Miller is a good guy

One thing the game really did well was the world building and all the backstory shit you can find. When you go into random apartments and storage areas, getting to find out mini storylines is kinda cool.

>break into Daria's apartment early
>find out she's not as well adjusted as she seems
>her telescope was aiming at Adam the entire time

Honestly, I really liked MD in terms of gameplay and world building.

My main issue with the game is that the main story was kinda weak because it didn't focus as much on the government conspiracy, like you reach the end of the game finally going into it and then the game ends right there. It's a huge disappointment.

It's actually pretty good on consoles - the controls work perfectly.
They take a while to get used to though.

I don't remember a single side quest from this game. what were the good ones? they were all forgettable.

>"the devs are blatantly pandering by putting in non-Slavs"
>given that, in Deus Ex, the developers 'predicted the future', maybe the developers of MD were doing the same with that detail
How the fuck is that hard to understand?

I did. you just talk to him and he goes away, that's literally it. its shit

Why would there be non-slavs in Czech Republic? Africans of all things

They're all great - I could say them off the top of my head.
Given the obsession this board has with being able to do quests in more than 1 way, I don't see how it's even up for debate.

Mgs2

Arab immigration or job relocation maybe?

Because of the mass migration that has been taking place in Europe?
Obviously we now know Czech republic didn't experience much migration, but it was a topic at the time - and still is.
