Why is this game getting rated so harshly on steam? don't people get that it's in early access and will have bugs? It's from the guys who made Crysis so i'm interested

eurojank
Because people know Crytek is doing one final cash grab before they go under.
Can't be bought with Crycash

its literally 3% away from having a Positive raiting. its much better than some other early access releases like with ARK or PUBG
they should have waited til the game was more complete, it was already getting enough attention from streamers.
>in development since 2013
>cashgrab
even for an early access game it's extremely buggy
it's also shit
I assume this is multiplayer only?
>in development for 5 years
>early access
Cryengine truly is the shittiest engine to work with
>lag is so intense it takes 5 headshots to kill
>the build they released runs worse than alpha, unable to get steady framerates on top end PC builds
>no time limit nor repercussion to just standing there at the monsters lair so the meta is to just wait until someone goes in first then kill them
Gee, wonder why
played 15 hours. had like maybe 3 bugs. its also fun.
How about doing these early access releases for free and then charge money when the game is 100% finished?
Back in the days alpha/beta testers actually GOT money from playing unfinished crap.
Where did it all go so wrong?
>lag is so intense it takes 5 headshots to kill
maybe youre just shit
I don't know what development time has to do with being a cashgrab or not. Also
>five years
>early access
Good thing they sold off their engine to amazon.
>b-but it's in pre-alpha!
>b-but it's just an alpha!
>b-but it's in early access!
>b-but it's a beta!
Neck yourself. If you think people should pay you 30 bux and still give your game a higher rating than it deserves because it's in development then you have serious brain injuries.
i think people shouldnt buy early access games and then cry about bugs.
>2018
>gunplay this fucking bad
Why do devs do this? If your game consists mostly of shooting things, why wouldn't you put even mediocre effort into it?
I think marketers shouldn't shill their early access games on Sup Forums with the same screenshots over and over but here we are.
Because it's shit.
>i know exactly how the game plays and feels like bcs i watched a 10second webm with no sound
Gamers don't have the patience for actual alphas and betas anymore, but publishers did it to themselves by using EA for demos and preorders.
HS is a really interesting game, I'll play it again when optimization comes around.
This game will have men and women, it takes place in Louisiana. Don't be a edgy retard.
>67% positive
>ITS FUCKING TRASH GARABEGE GRAAAAA
>73% positive
>GOTYAY BEST GAME EVER BASED SLAVS!!
so according to Sup Forums there's only 6% between a game being complete shit, and the literal goty
Because its just a nice looking flavor of PUBG. Despite what it claims to be, the game is full on battle royale PvP, and what little PvE there is in the game is uninteresting, bland, brainless, and heavily discouraged in favor of its PvP access.
It doesn't consist mostly of shooting things. Mostly it's sneaking and melee. I like that the shooting is slow, makes you consider whether it's worth giving away your position or not. This game would not have the same suspense if the gunplay was like BF or CoD.
The gunplay is so shit that a 10 second webm is more than enough to showcase it. That footage looks completely amateurish. There's no proper recoil or weapon sway from movement, the whole gun looks glued onto the screen like it was Doom or something. What's even worse, there's fucking CoD style hit indicators.
I'm not going to play an FPS game that fails so utterly at something so simple.
You missed my point. The gunplay doesn't look at all like the player is holding or shooting a firearm. It looks more like someone pasted an animation onto the screen instead of it being part of the game.
I do agree about the indicator, this game needs to have little to no HUD.
>Crytek
How did they even manage to fuck up so hard so many times?
Crysis was pretty okay even though Sup Forums likes to reduce it to a tech demo. They only had to improve on it but somehow they couldn't and became a trainwreck.
>What's even worse, there's fucking CoD style hit indicators.
whys that supposed to be bad now?
>their publisher was EA
>how did they fuck up so hard
Why is that even a question
I've been playing the game, I play a lot of shooters, maybe this is a horrible crime against FPS everywhere but it feels fine while playing it. Then again, I like Doom.
>caring about reviews
existence of niggers would be ok, but women in combat roles completely disqualify the game
I think it's bad because the game has great atmosphere, the indicator pulls me out of it.
I like it as well, but I very much dislike these half-assed systems where they put in aiming down the sights and all this shit, but don't even try to do it properly. Either keep it CS/UT/Doom whatever style shooting or do it properly.
Yes your mom is getting fucked by a nigger in the intro
Complete loss of immersion, ugly, stupid, useless. Why would you put in hit indicators?
>the whole gun looks glued onto the screen like it was Doom or something
I dont know maybe it has to do with the fact theyre using old WW1-era weapons and hes aiming down sight.
HUNT was originally a 4 player co-op shooter but they switched it to first person Battle Royale after that became the trend
>I dont know maybe it has to do with the fact theyre using old WW1-era weapons and hes aiming down sight.
Are you underage? Why the fuck would you assume this has any validity whatsoever?
>Large studio that should have tons of money
>Releasing a game as "early access"
>Charging over 30 fucking dollars for it
Its a scam. No AAA devs should be using the early access system, they should have the money. Indie devs who aren't swimming in cash at least have some kind of excuse.
>aims down sight
>WTF HIS WEAPON IS IN THE MIDDLE LIKE IN DOOM!!!!
>Large studio
not anymore
>should have tons of money
they cant even pay their employees sometimes
>I like it as well, but I very much dislike these half-assed systems where they put in aiming down the sights and all this shit, but don't even try to do it properly. Either keep it CS/UT/Doom whatever style shooting or do it properly.
As someone who shoots competitively I think its actually refreshing to see a game specifies the difference in readiness between holding a rifle, having a rifle shouldered, and actively aiming down the sights.
Running around the entire time with a gun "ready to fire" is extremely cumbersome and tiring, even with a light modern rifle and not the fuckhueg turn of the century lever-actions.
Also the setting and feel are fantastic. Someone actually bothered to do WWI-era weapons without going full "BF1" with all the bullshit that transpired there. Thats worth some points.
>I dont know maybe it has to do with the fact theyre using old WW1-era weapons
What in the flying fuck does this have to do with anything?
>WTF HIS WEAPON IS IN THE MIDDLE LIKE IN DOOM!!!!
Yeah, that's not what I said. You'd have to be underage, or very stupid to assume I was talking about the gun being in the middle of the screen when aiming down the sights, when I very clearly said:
>There's no proper recoil or weapon sway from movement, the whole gun looks glued onto the screen like it was Doom or something
And was talking about gunplay in general.
yeah then youre fucking retarded if you think its glued to the screen because its moving a lot when aiming down sights and plebs have already asked the devs for an option to "hold your breath" to reduce that
>As someone who shoots competitively I think its actually refreshing to see a game specifies the difference in readiness between holding a rifle, having a rifle shouldered, and actively aiming down the sights.
This game does? Or were you talking in general?
>Also the setting and feel are fantastic. Someone actually bothered to do WWI-era weapons without going full "BF1" with all the bullshit that transpired there. Thats worth some points.
I can't get excited over those weapons when they handle like a pasted-on animation instead of a firearm the character is supposed to be carrying. There's no weight to them, no recoil, no life. It doesn't look or feel like there's actually a firearm in the character's arms.
Yeah it's moving like a pasted-on animation. The animations of the gun don't fit at all what the character is doing. Shit gunplay on the level of freeware games.
How about you play it first because it's actually really fine.
>wahh m-m-muh realism im an absolute expert in this game bcs i watched a webm
>crawling back to PC
>with game where they can't just blame pirates no less
>How about you play it first
Lol, no. No way am I paying 30€ for that kind of gameplay. Hell, I'd not even play it for free.
then fuck off n go back to battlefield
This is pretty much 99% of this games. People camping at keyspots.
>n go back to battlefield
Is this the go back to CoD for you kids these days? What makes you think I'd play some equally casual other shooter if I find this game unattractive?
>This game does? Or were you talking in general?
Yes, it does. Its literally the most basic control element in the game outside of WASD.
If you're going to bitch about something at least look into it a little bit. But hey, what would Sup Forums be without misinformed idiots blathering their uninformed opinions as gospel truth.
Also when you're looking at early repeating firearms, the recoil is fairly accurate. Low pressure/low velocity rounds paired with the very heavy rifles/handguns does a lot to mitigate recoil and jump, its there, but it settles quickly back in because its a round every few seconds, not dozens of them like with modern weapons. Repeated impulses do MUCH more to throw off your aim.
BUT I suspect you've never actually handled any sort of firearm much less period appropriate ones like this. SO see above.
they started banishing so what else should i do.
i couldnt kill both of them tho
I've watched a little bit of this game. I like the premise and concept of the game, but I'm wary of how it will actually play. Graphics look nice enough though
>lag is so intense it takes 5 headshots to kill
haven't run into any lag yet
>the build they released runs worse than alpha, unable to get steady framerates on top end PC builds
no frame rate problems on my 1060 other than only getting 50 frames, but they are a steady 50
>no time limit nor repercussion to just standing there at the monsters lair so the meta is to just wait until someone goes in first then kill them
My only problems with it so far. No down side to just sitting back and letting someone else take the risks.
Crytek is never gonna crash, if you don't know it is part of amazon and the team crytek is completelly dedicated to experiment with cry engine.
After a new version of cry engine is released the old one is updated to a modern engine and called lumberyard which is literally cryengine-1.
aws.amazon.com
same
14 hours and so far I've crashed once and had the brightness from a lightning strike stay on my screen for an entire round
>If you're going to bitch about something at least look into it a little bit.
The fuck are you talking about as well? Why do you extend the discussion to this as if not knowing about this function somehow devalidates my complaints on the gunplay outside of it? Are you a damage-controlling dev?
>the recoil is fairly accurate
>but it settles quickly back in
That's not even recoil. It's just an animation that swings the gun around instead of actually pushing it up and right as it should, forcing the player to handle it. I.e. good gunplay.
There's also way too fucking little weapon sway when moving. Like his arms have inbuilt stabilizers.
It's the same for all the weapon animations. The guns just swing back and forth regardless of what kind of movement you are doing, like Counter Strike. It looks awful and makes for shit gunplay.
>BUT I suspect you've never actually handled any sort of firearm
I have, through conscription. As if that had even any relevancy in this case.
Because it's early access buggy, unoptimized, poorly balanced garbage? Just because it's Early Access doesn't mean people can't rate it poorly, you fucking dumb ass.
yeah damn crytek making it possible to actually aim! i wanted to play a guy with parkinson's
Crytek isn't a part of Amazon you dumb ass. Amazon just bought rights to use the CryEngine and had their own version of the engine made. Outside of that, they have nothing to do with Crytek. Crytek isn't t a subsidiary of Amazon like your stupid asshole thinks it is.
>buggy, unoptimized, poorly balanced garbage
>rate it poorly
>only a few % lower than KC:D, a game that Sup Forums loves
unfortunatley yes it's pubg with monsters
Yeah, you want casual, easy-as-fuck shit gunplay without a hint of realism or difficulty shooting. Good for you. Why should devs bother striving for more? For deeper gameplay that would reward those who play smart, who scout out in advance, cover eachother when moving? A game actually built for cooperation between individuals? But noo, that's just fucking parkinsons, m8.
aiming is hard as fuck when you stand still bcs the weapon keeps moving. its more stable when you move
>For deeper gameplay that would reward those who play smart, who scout out in advance, cover eachother when moving? A game actually built for cooperation between individuals?
You literally need to play like that though if you wanna win/live.
But you didn't even play it so it's okay since you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
And Sup Forums admits that KCD is poorly optimized and fucking buggy. The difference is that KC is actually more than some Tarkov ripoff with a shit matchmaking, shit gun plat, horribly designed game balance that just makes everyone camp and gank, and it's extremely casual because actually finding the person who has the bounty is just marked to he map. As soon as someone finds/kills the boss that location shows up on the map, and whoever picks up the bounty will also actively be tracked on the map as well. There's ammo everywhere and the enemies aggro range is horrible, so fighting monsters isn't actually required almost ever.
Kingdom Come has it's problems, but it's a good game unlike Hunt. To fix Kingdom come, all that would be required are some patch fixes. Fixing Hunt would require re-balancing the entire game. at a core level.
>You literally need to play like that though if you wanna win/live.
When you can fire accurately enough when moving, switching between ADS / low ready / high ready is that fast, no you don't. The lack of inertia and weight make it very much possible to play it casually.
this game is much better than tarkov you pleb and KC:D is absolute fucking garbage
>It's from the guys who made Crysis
Most of those are on Star Citizen now because Crytek can't pay their employees.
youre fucking dumb, if you play solo you wont survive long.
I like the premise and gameplay, but great googly moogly it's optimized like absolute shit. I'll hold onto my money until I see some performance improvements.
>this game is much better than tarkov you pleb
KEK, how? Becasue 'muh helsing aesthetic'? It has worse gameplay than Tarkov, has less weapons and weapon customizing capabilities, it's far more casual than Tarkov ever could be, has worse sound design than Tarkov, and it actually has shittier matchmaking and optimization than Tarkov. The only thinks that Hunt does better than Tarkov is that it looks nicer (Cryengine vs Unity), it isn't running on Unity, and it's cheaper. I don't even like Tarkov because it has little content and it's business model is retarded, but Hunt is far worse. Also just because you couldn't beat Kunesh in the first fist fight in Rattay doesn't make KC a bad game, you dumb coon.
>Still hasn't played it so he knows nothing about how the game plays, probably hasn't even watched an actual gameplay video.
>Thinks it's some Battlefield type of game
>defending Shartkov
Tarkov is absolute fucking garbage you russian subhuman.
>being an illiterate retard
>muh smug weeb reaction image
Concession accepted.
>defending crytek made garbage
Off with you, braindead
>literally defends a game that is worse than a game he called shit
>f-f-fucking ww-w-w-w-weeb
>thinks i'm defending Tarkov
>clearly didn't actually read the part of my post where I said it was shit
>b-but my anime...
>i dont like the business model
>L-LOOK I CALLED THE G-G-GAME SH-SH-SHIT!!!!
I'm watching some gameplay right now. I don't know what Battlefield's play like these day since the last one I played was BC, but that gunplay is just about on the same level.
>minimal weapon sway, even when walking
>can easily shoot when moving
>instant transition between readiness states, can start shooting almost instantly from the move
>fast as fuck weapon switching
>recoil is irrelevant, not actual recoil, just animation
>weapon animations do not match movement - look shit in general, very unnatural
>guns sound like shit
Really don't fucking like it. I'm no longer willing to buy this kind of shit gunplay. Especially when the devs themselves are talking about gameplay over graphics. A load of bullshit.
looks like you dont like shooters in general then
"In general", no. Since most shooters are casual run and gun games with shit gunplay. As I said earlier, either leave the gunplay on a simplistic level like in Unreal Tournament, without ADS, without this weapon sway, etc. or do it right. Don't half-ass the core aspect of your gameplay like this. Put in some effort.
Im not in total agreement there, but I completely agree there should be MUCH more sway when moving and using irons. It would do a lot to help mitigate the side-step tango that a lot of firefights turn into.
But thats really not a hard thing to change overall. I hate hiding behind the "its just early access" shield, but the nuance of actual gunplay is somehting thats pretty easy to change should the dev agree.
ok so you dont like it but most people do so..
I said the business model was shit and the game had no content. It also crashes too much, was made on a shitty engine, and lags like shit. It's still better than Hunt by a longshot because it isn't casualized nigger garbage made for the lowest common denominator of people who play video games.
I got it and refunded that shit for vermin tide 2.
>game is so buggy I keep loading in to team games solo
>get killed by a dog flying 6 feet above the ground
>the one good game I got in ended with them saying the severs reset and nothing matters
>oh boy three gun types!
Buggy. Broken. And they want 40$ for this shit?
Most people are shit.
>it has little content
>i said it has no content
why do you lie?
>mixed reviews
>EVERYONE LIKES IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heh, I refunded Vermintide 2 and bought Hunt instead ;)
>moving the goalpost this badly
Concession accepted.
>$30
>Crytek
You'd have to pay ME to play any Crytek shit.
