Physical DLC

Do I need (((amiibo))) to 100% complete pic related? It looks like a cool game, but I don't wanna spend shekels on a piece of plastic.

Look at this stupid nig with an unhacked 3ds

no

The amibo is only a few extra challenges or something like that

just pirate it on PC, you fucking faggot

No. Amiibo unlocks a couple extra challenges and a custom knight mode that just gives some useless cosmetics and gimmick relics (like a version of the Propeller Dagger that never stops moving until you hit something or what amounts to a beta version of one of Specter Knight's things) that lock you out of achievements if you use them anyway. It's a fun bonus, but not a 100% thing.

>just pirate it on PC, you fucking faggot
I pirate a lot of stuff, but pirating Shovel Knight is a crime against actually good games. Don't be scum like that, it's worth 10 bucks easily

>it's worth 10 bucks easily
user it's $25 now. Still worth it, considering you get 4 campaigns and a multiplayer battle mode.

>it's worth 10 bucks easily
That's a kilogram of meat and a bottle of vodka where I live.

>mfw bought it on WiiU when it was $10
>never actually beat it since I suck at these games and didn't realize when the bosses were in iframes they couldn't hurt you either (so played way too safe)
>never played any of the DLC
>don't want to hook up the wiiu again
I may just re-buy the game on PC. Even at a total of like $35 the game is fucking worth it.

Pirate it if you've already bought it

I'd go for it. PC version got the Battletoads fight for Shovel Knight's story now, so that's fun.

Completely forgot they were added to Shovel's campaign, will replay it after King

reminder:

Plague knight>spectre knight>>>>>>>shovel knight

Here too, so what? Still worth it.

>Plague knight>spectre knight>>>>>>>shovel knight

Plague knight (when you got gud) >>> Shovel Knight > King of Cards > Spectre Knight >>>>>>>>>>>> Plague knight (when you first time try him)

> King of Cards
oh fuck, is that out already?

>buys a multiplat on 3ds
>I don't want to waste money on a piece of plastic

Shovel Knight is worse than the worst megaman game.

This
Honestly the base game isn't that good, levels don't flow very well, I'm sure they made it so it'd be more an action platformer like megaman but then they made the downward shovel strike the optimal strategy for almost everything and it greatly took away from the action without adding that much to the platforming

>oh fuck, is that out already?
sometime in early 2018.

It's objectively better than any NES platformer, so you're clearly wrong.

alright, thought I missed the release somehow.

>Shovel Knight is worse than the worst megaman game.

It's better than Mega Man 5, worst of the classic NES ones

It's better than 7, the worst classic one

And it's a hell of a lot better than the worst Mega Man game period X6

sup

>tfw spectre knight actually made me care about this gary stu piece of shit

He's definitely an OC donut steel but how's he a Gary Stu if he's thoroughly defeated in any encounter and never mentioned again? Pretty sure that's the case with every game he's in too.

he's almost the definition of mary sue/gary stu.

In the eyes of the creator? Yes

In the context of Shovel Knight? Nah

and wesley, out of greater context, was just a talented starfleet cadet.

Hating on Wesley is a meme, just like with Jar-Jar Binks or Vanilla Ice. None of them are that bad.

I only care about Reize in the game though, not his shitty creator, and in the game he's lost every fight he's been in and constantly picks fights when he shouldn't.

What are you talking about? The context would be TNG in that case, in which he is shown to be exactly the Wesley everyone hated, there was no outside context. In this thread we are talking about Shovel Knight, where he's just some miniboss. 99.999% of people playing the game will have no idea he exists outside of it. And no one cares.

just get it on PC it's a great game and there are two mini adventures where you play as different characters.

I never said in the context of shovel knight. The other user was the one who narrowed down the context.

If you want to get specific, you'd have to go episode by episode with wesley since he only appeared in TNG. Reize crosses games and has a fuckton of lore that creators HAVE TO FOLLOW in order to put him into the game.

If you want to narrow down the context like that, then in episode 1x12, wesley is acceptable. in episode 1x13, wesley is acceptable. et cetera.

This thread is about Shovel Knight, therefor that is the baseline context.

well then, I stand by the "In episode 1x13, wesley crusher is a completely acceptable, not at all infuriating gary stu." statement.

no, you're judging things without a timeframe. Shovel Knight is worse because it came out LATER.

In what way? Just because it's later, it's worse? What are you talking about.

You can just spoof the amiibo with an android phone and a 1$ nfc sticker... look up amiibo spoofing if you care. I did a few for BOTW and its worth it to save hundreds. You can even download fully trained wolflinks etc saves time AND money.

Did they ever release specter of torment on the 3ds?

Yes

And if someone made a thread to discuss a specific episode that didn't feature Wesley, it wouldn't be particularly relevant to bitch about him.

Huh, time to dig through 3dsiso then

I don't know if it got a stand alone release, just the update that integrates it into Treasure Trove.

It's better than every mega man game lol

It isn't better than X, X2, X4, Zero 2, Zero 3, Classic 2, Classic 3, Classic 9 or Classic 6
