One takes effort.

The other is legit just stealing everything from MGS5 and making a game out of it.

If you check Metacritic you can see how well that payed off.

A shitty online game with microtransactions will make far more than an excellent single player remake ever would.

because they can get the same amount of free money while also spending less money???

Konami seems like it's run by bitter retards.

>Not letting Kojima actually finish MGSV
>"WAAAAH HE SPEND TOO MUCH YEN"

If they'd actually let him add the final chapter and the rest of the shit he wanted to do they would have sold way, way more copies. Are they just a bunch of rich kids on coke running the company or what? Either that or Kojima fucked the CEOs wife or some shit.

This. Survive is like 99% reused MGSV assets. all they did was make a handful of monsters, wepons and buildable stuff.

It's like they don't want to put the effort in even though it would likely pay off in spades. I would love it, that's for sure.

And new gameplay
and ia
and new mechanic

>Not letting Kojima actually finish MGSV
user, I dont think anyone wanted to wait till 2020 to play the game.

I just really fucking hope they don't try and continue the story without Kojima. That would be an unbearable trainwreck to witness.

Why not? The game feels pretty unfinished as is, but you can see flickers of greatness underneath.

>new gameplay
No.
>new ai
No.
>new mechanics
Yeah, adding hunger and thirst must have taken years.

>Metal Gear 1 and 2 in the Fox Engine
They would just be basic room challenges you'd beat effortlessly with the mechanics of V.

If they made Hard Mode the standard then maybe not.

this guy is right.

For a remake, the game need to be remade completly, even the boss need to be fleshed out.

>Hard mode
That won't change a thing.

The setup of the rooms and terrain is going to be deathly simple compared to what V provided.

You're better off just making MGS1-4 level packs for V as missions you can select.

Shadow moses is tiny and you can probably dash through the whole of it in minutes with V's engine.

They need to remake completly the map, or change the gameplay to a more classic metal gear experience.

I think if they made it into a much more punishing experience it could work.

After years of their money pit Kojima throwing away capital at has been actors and other nonsense, Konami was financially crippled. They needed MGSV to be a huge success and it was clear it wasn't going to be. Now that their chief plagiarist is Sony's headache, they need to recover financially, and that's what Metal Gear Survive is. MG Survive is cobbled with assets from MGSV, so the production cost was low. Review bomb sites aside, it's a top seller on Steam with mostly positive reviews, so it's pouring much needed income back into Konami. With this capital, they can now wisely remake a classic like MGS in the Fox Engine.

They'll stick with mobile games and other easy, guaranteed money makers like that. It's unfortunate, but most people are idiots and that's what they'll pay for. They really should have had a strict guideline for Kojima to follow from the start. Maybe then they could have compromised much more clearly and worked out something.

The game isn't selling that well, but it's alright i guess, maybe they are waiting to have more money for the next game.
Beside, they already game a shitload of money with the last bomberman on switch.

I would love a MGA3 on mobile .

Remaking MG and MG2SS is an inherently terrible idea.

Also MGS1 is already basically a remake of MG2

>remake completly the map
They could.
Or they could just design a new game instead of just trying to update something archaic and dated.

I love MGS1 but thats a game that functioned in the design it had.
Completely remixing the design of the locales would kinda just a "whats the point", "This could just be a new game/ mission"

You'd be creating and remixing locales that'd be easily completed and retelling an already told story with remade cutscenes with just money poured into it, instead of treading new ground and developing it further.

MGS1's been done, Twice. 2 won't be much of an improvement to remake either.
If anything 3 laid down a good groundwork for an adventure, but even that could be run through because of how simple it is in design.
If 6 is made, I'd love to see it be 5's stealth mechanics in the spirit of 1-3's adventure/journey-esque design instead of the mission format. But I want it evolved, not retreaded. Those games functioned in their systems and would only be broken into pieces with newer systems.

Not retards, just business men. In Japan they are still making loads of money with much less effort. So while it might look shitty from the gaming industry's point of view, they're still successful in making loads of money doing other stuff.

>YWN blow up Venom and light Naked on fire, both voiced by Kiefer

I know, but they could potentially make a ton of money off of remaking the early MG games if they marketed the hell out of it.

I hope they get Kojima back and give him stricter guidelines. I would love to see more MGS.

Nigger Kojima has wanted to stop since after MGS2, let the guy go already.

yeah, I would like to see Kojima back for 6 but with a more linear, less open-world format. Like, going to Africa was cool in V but there should have been other places to visit as well, and more frequently. You don't need a huge map for every single locale, either. Maybe something like the newest Hitman game, for example.

No Kojima, no buy, though. I'm solid on that, no pun intended. It would be a travesty for the MGS series to end right when games are getting as advanced as they are.

It's the main reason why he made snake old in mgs as well.

Venom should be voice by kiefer, Naked by Doyle.

I actually hoping next metal gear will be a reboot.

The would fuck it up anyway, MGS is dead, let it stay dead.

>reboot
>without Kojima

For the love of God, why?

They likely will never do that. I'd be shocked. The most I'd expect is MAYBE a full series collection release. But getting MGS4 to run on anything besides the PS3 would be a nightmare, which makes the whole idea seem impossible. I don't see Konami putting that much effort into gaming anymore, it's just not worth the payoff. They might make a lot of money, but it would cost a lot of money to make too. Same reason Valve has mostly stopped making games. They've found ways to make more money by doing less work. Business 101 and nothing is really going to change that.
MGS is dead, as well as Kojima and Konami relations. I don't see Kojima ever going back, and he really doesn't have a need to. He has the following and money to work on his own. But MGS is stuck with Konami, so he has to give that up to move on.

Was Konami actually financially crippled though?

They have bemani and pachinko money too, which make up quite a bit of revenue. I don't doubt that Kojima could be quite a financial burden though.

Because the people won't cry anymore about the "don't mess with Kojima canon!"

They could reboot the serie, and continue the original timeline with Rising 2, developed by Platinum.

>tfw you'll never face Frank Jaeger in a fist fight in Zanzibar
Go play Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake then, you faggot. Stop being such a graphic whore and accept the MSX2 games for what they are..

I mean, maybe if they created all-new characters? And put them in the MGS setting? Anyway, I'm against it but they would probably make money doing it.

Well, I doubt people would mind reused assets that much but Survive is just a corporate checklist for a game since they want to milk some money from the Fox Engine which is now completely useless. They only make PES which is shit and nobody cares about anyways.
The point of creating an engine is to make many games with it.

Its not about how much Kojima drained their resources. He did, but he also made them back in multifold after the game releases. The crux of the problem is Konami was no longer confident in the return of investment.

They don't have their finger on the pulse of the real gaming world anymore.

who needs metal gear remakes by a pachinko company when square is already ahead of the game?
youtube.com/watch?v=Emxwk5HIqcg

Fuck off faggot

They did a new Bomberman game on switch, since the release it has constant update and is pretty good.

MGS1 has already been remade
And if they remake MG 1 and 2, the people sucking Kojima's cock for it 3 years ago will talk about how a remake ruins them.

i dont think theres any more metal gear games coming out

It took Kojima around five years to finish not even half a game. He still needed to do Chapter 3, 4 and 5 in addition to an epilogue (this is obvious based off of early leaks and how chapter 3 doesn't feel conclusive).
The shit we got wasn't even finished. Chapter 2 is obviously not done as it pulls a DMC4 on us and the big reveal is just a replay of the first mission. Chapter 1 also isn't finished as I'd say 25% of the main ops have nothing to do with the Skullface story and feel more like Side Ops that got shafted.

You guys are pessismistic, you said the same thing after 4, PW and V.

Oh yeah.

I really hope Konami makes new games but I doubt they have much people left working there.
Fucking pachinko

The Survive staff are all old guys from old metal gears.

In 2016 they recruited some "new members" for the "next metal gear", and it wasn't Survive since Survive staff are all old guys.

>He still needed to do Chapter 3, 4 and 5 in addition to an epilogue (this is obvious based off of early leaks and how chapter 3 doesn't feel conclusive).
[citation needed]

Who do I blame for Zone of Enders cancellation? I feel Kojima is somewhat responsible for that.

There was some leaks way back in 2015 that got the names of the first 3 chapters right. They're probably on reddit, I don't care enough to find them.
But, try and argue that Chapter 3 was supposed to be the ending. It doesn't feel like an ending, it feels like it's close, but there's still a lot missing.
Skullface talks a lot of shit and we get barely anything from him. Quiet just fucks off at the end having done nothing interesting and leaving nothing interesting. The only thing that feels like it was set up and done according to original intention is the Huey stuff.
Even the truth tapes don't feel right, they just come out of nowhere with no explanation other than 'You beat the game', but as we've gone over, that was far from where the game was supposed to end.
There's also the point that MGS4 has 5 chapters, a prologue and an epilogue.

I don't think it was ever really being made or even considered. It was just proof of concept. They only showed very early production drawings, thats all they had come up with when they showed it off.
Looking back, Konami was probably pressuring Joakim to diversify alittle and he shit out something to smoke and mirrors someone. Us getting shown anything was definitely a mistake. But the way they presented it, with the begging attached, I knew it was a pipedream the moment I saw it.

>But getting MGS4 to run on anything besides the PS3 would be a nightmare
This is a meme. The only reason it wasn’t released on the 360 was because it would have taken too many discs because of the cutscenes.

There were no leaks, you're a gullible retard.

I hate it when creators aren't involved but producers/suits order new stuff.
Reminds me when Harris was kinda forced to write Hannibal Rising because the producer said "If you don't write it, we'll get someone else"

Anyone know how to get this fucker

>There was some leaks way back in 2015 that got the names of the first 3 chapters right. They're probably on reddit, I don't care enough to find them.
Some user making shit up online are not leaks.

everyone who didn't buy the HD Collection

Is he right, Sup Forums?

Is he?

Not really a meme. No one is saying it is impossible, but it would be a lot of work with not much payoff.

Unironically yes. There were zero (0) good first-party Metal Gear games after 3. People bitching about 4 or Peace Walker or V or Survive is just bitching over which particular flavor of shit they prefer.

V is the only Metal Gear with phenomenal gameplay so no. The story is fine, it just had some structural issues.

hey.
That's not how Z speaks faggot. Why are we still at 9.5k?

More like it's inconsequential and serves only to rectify one tiny detail about a videogame made in the 80s back when they were made strictly as games.

I would have.

What if. What if. To solve the dilemma they just released MGSV episodically?

If they did that, which might have been smart but still stupid because pointless world map, then Ground Zeroes still would have been the best part of it. At no other point in the games did I feel more fun then extracting Paz to a full alert base.
