best battlefield
It was the best Battlefield.
Very good. Better than those immediately before or after by a long shot. The destruction engine is particularly good. It still has a relatively active community too.
Yea, but Dice won't ever make a similar game nowadays, because everything HAS to be big and "muh 64 players".
My favourite BF
Got gud at killing things as agressive sniper with sv98, was really fun
i remember the guns feeling nice, i only really played single player though, MP is probably dead
still play this from time to time still find full servers for it and vietnam.
rush was specially fun
Not better than the engine from Red Faction Guerilla. Nothing ever topped that.
It's still populated, but filled with autists who know the maps and all the camping spots through and through.

Best DLC
I still play it regularly and its still more active than a lot of recent mp shooters, the netcode is and always has been horrible but its the last good bf game
What games even have good netcode? I remember Gears 3's netcode being absolutely fantastic but then it got ruined after a couple months for some reason. I know it wasn't just me either since I played with other people and they said similar.
Overhyped because it was the first battlefield for many people since it was on a console
All these new fags.
Sup Forums used to have "funfield: pretty awesome 2" generals everyday.
>It Ain't Me starts playing
> open the game
> snowy mountains starts playing
> ping ping loging into account
Yeah that could be true. But as far as console shooters go, it's the tits.
battlefield 2 modern combat was on console.
Occasionally I'll plug in the ps3 and play it. There's a guy who I added on PSN back when I finally got a copy of the game (2012? 13?) and still he just plays this. Doesn't even have platinum.
I used to wag school morning care group to go to my mate's place and wake him up so he'd go to school. But in reality, we'd just play BFBC2 until 9 or so.

Tell me his username. I want to ask him why he still plays it.
>open game
> drums start playing
>server finally loads up
>that war tapes sound mode fills your headphones with reverb
Yes and no, technically it had a lot of issues with things like balance and netcode but it managed to just flat out be a fun game. I think in the end the best aspect of the game was the fact that maps matched the mode they were used for, they may not have been amazing but they worked.
Because he likes the game. What is wrong with continuing to play something you like?
There is some weird shit going on if you play the same game for 6 years.
It's not anything special, guns feel great, but it was obviously streamlined for consoles.
Of course people look back on it fondly because the games that came afterwards were way worse.
Online games are different. This isn't the same as an autistic speedrunner speedrunning the same game for years.
to me it was like GTA IV. a down-upgrade.
great graphics, physics, etc. but they downgraded the gameplay a lot and removed lots of things that did older BF games fun.
