Why does no one talk about this game anymore? What is it lacking?
Why does no one talk about this game anymore? What is it lacking?
Because in 35 days, it's gonna be obliterated by the savior.
Tick tock, Larianiggers.
>Why does no one talk about this game anymore?
because it's fotm garbage for skyrimbabies?
>What is it lacking?
everything that makes a game good?
HEY LARIANIGGERS
35 DAYS 21 MINUTES AND 55 SECONDS UNTIL YOU DIE
this game is like the opposite of skyrim in almost every way possible for a wrpg
The game is casual, imbalanced trash with zero challenge that pretends to be "tactically deep", but in reality every single system in the game is broken, starting with economy and ending with combat mechanics. I guess this shit became popular with normies, because it makes you feel "smart" by masquerading as a game with actual tactical depth while in reality having none, since you become overpowered and begin steamrolling through everything on the hardest difficulty setting a few hours into the game. Apparently, this is what soy-infused brainlets call "fun" nowadays. Though I hear talk that Larian have "fixed" the XP accumulation rate since launch so you might not end up outleveling most encounters nowadays, but the game needs a complete rework of its encounter design to be challenging, since its fundamentally flawed in how it allows literally any boss in the game to be instakilled with zero effort once you leave the tutorial island and acquire some levels and source spells.
The roleplaying is also shallow trash since almost none of your character building decisions matter past the tutorial island due to the availability of free infinite respecs. Even though all story characters get some unique content and at least one personal quest, the only quest worth playing is Lohse's, everything else might as well not exist, so the character building decisions associated with playable story characters barely add anything to the almost nonexistent roleplaying depth.
>easy combat
>leveling system that only a toddler could mess up
>bland story
>no real role-playing at all
It's not even finished yet. They should have put this game in early access since it's clearly lacking a lot of features.
It's an RPG. How many times can you possibly play it? It ran its course.
Really? I thought it was just buggy
balete dis
>what is it lacking
Balance
AP stacking
Also armor was a terrible idea
>What is it lacking?
A soul.
t.
its lacking a propper DM mode and mods in general.
it has the potential to be a second neverwinter nights but i doubt the devs will actually put in the effort to fix whats wrong with it.
also FUCK NECROFIRE
>it has the potential to be a second neverwinter nights
No, it doesn't. You know why? Because the modding community of DOS games is a joke and has always been a joke ever since the days of DOS1. Mods don't materialize out of thin air and you need a very dedicated modding community and community in general for a game to have many good mods like NWN games have. The problem with DOS2 is that the game is mostly alive due to people playing it mostly for the brainless coop combat and nothing else. A community like that will never produce or attract good modders. This is why DOS1 never had any actually good mods and this is why DOS2 won't have any finished good ones either.
all it takes is fixing some of the issues and then releasing an expansion to respark interest in the game.
modding community and potential aside, the actual editor is a glitchy mess
What a ruthless thread
Surprised to see this much hate for it.
I assume nobody talks about it anymore because it's about 200 hours long (thus only one playthrough for sane people) and came out a while ago.
>it's about 200 hours long
nigger it took me 40 hours to beat on the hardest difficulty
Not him, but it probably takes 40 hours if you skip most of the dialogue. I did 2.5 playthroughs with one of them being multiplayer coop and the other Honour mode singleplayer and I have around 250 hours logged total.
Holy shit
*BOOP
I love this game, but I only ever play it with my mates. We four are seldom on at the same time, but our ventures our glorious. It could use a better content creation tool.
>but in reality every single system in the game is broken, starting with economy and ending with combat mechanics.
But games like Heroes of might and magic 3 are so easily abusable even more so than Original sin 2 but people on Sup Forums praise it like it's the best game ever made
obshitian drones shitposted all the attempts at threads into oblivion, so everyone who cared about the game just went back to playing it
Pretty contrarian thread so far when game has so much of what Sup Forums loves. It's possible to like this game and be excited for Pillars 2 also you know.
Reddit writing ruins every good thing it has
the game is fun. It got plenty of discussion when it came out
you mean shilled
>What is it lacking?
like literally fucking everything act I has and other acts don't. you can literally stop playing after leaving fort joy and nothing of value will be lost.
yup
Shhhhhhhh
It's trying to hard to be "gamey"
How do you do that shit? pretty wild.
Also decided to replay the game and I can't grab any deathfogs anymore. Did they do something to them?
dropping containers of shit on enemies does damage proportional to the combined weight of the container itself and whatever is inside it. you could one-shot the final boss in the first original sin doing the same thing.
Surprised we didn't have the guy posting the screenshots with the cringe sex scenes
no
>Why does no one talk about this game anymore?
Long games usually aren't ideal for replays and it came out almost half a year ago?
It lacks true build diversity. Levelling characters with +5% damage upgrades isn't all that exciting.
"Balance" has never been the point of memorable classic RPG's. Obshitian games like PoE and Tyranny were dead in the water because Sawyer was more concerned with 'muh balance' than creative character building.
>killing helpless bro dragon
It's unbalanced to the point where you come across power spikes that completely kill any enjoyment playing the game because now you either stomp with this one thing or not use it knowing that you could be
> game has so much of what Sup Forums loves
well you are right on that, kiddinity is basically 80% maymays
We played it already. Some of us played it multiple times. We talked about everything there is to talk about. I don't know how the single player modding scene is, but I think the game master mode ended up being a non-starter. I have no idea why neverwinter nights was modded so hard and no one else can match that success. Except skyrim I guess, but that's not the same tabletop-esque experience.
The only thing wrong with it is that it needs MORE. Its longevity could have been secured if its online set up was more like Neverwinter Nights with user made modules.
>What is it lacking?
WASD movement.
Last part is mostly true about the companions. Loshe get a large hunk of the pie in regard to character story and main story. While the others are just kind 'there'
I never played magic so want to do a run with all casters. Recommended classes that aren't summoner for a fleshy mage
I haven't, but I'd have given it a try for myself already if not for the fact that when it goes on "sale" it's only at a $5 discount. I don't pull the $40 trigger on maybes from devs I don't know. Not when I build my backlog on $5~$30 games.

Its still probably the best Co-op computer RPG game though. Nothing comes close in terms of quality and depth.
Fane despite being a last minute addition has a shit ton of lore significance and is the only one able to talk to Amadia
Clicking should only ever be used for attacking, interacting with objects and characters, and selecting dialogue options. RPGs without keyboard movement are trash without exception.
That's hardly self-evident. Hot opinion, but pretty arbitrary desu.
gameplay of DOS2 is like this:
You are the special one. There are other special ones. Who will be the SPECIAL special one????
Combat flows like: "Hah, I got this all in the bag." *enemies does a thing to put you in an awkward spot* "Eee gads! I've been routed! Time to change my approach!" (wash rinse repeat sometimes with combat gimmick with certain encounters as all encounters are pre-made and can offer what amounts to 'puzzle elements' in regard to how you take advantage of terrain.)
The roleplaying is hit and miss. Your character presents themselves as 'mostly aimiable' for story purposes with the occasional chance to push NPC buttons etc.
The NPC characters that join you have their own story arc and sometimes conflicting interest at certain points. Lots of moral grey given the setting is a 'decaying world' like a lot of other fantasy games.
the battle system at best is a great series of tension and release with AI that has the same abilities and strategy you do (generally, sometimes the AI can't decides to waste its action point)
Sometimes the battles get REALLY down to the wire, and one mistake in the harder difficulties can set you back a LOT.
The story is 'epic' in scope more focused on the journey than the ending which is more or less an excuse to just have an big bad boss battle to cap the experience off.
The ending is kinda frustrating to me because while it tries to pay homage to classic PCRPG endings by showing you the results of your choices.... eeeeehhh it kinda focuses on stuff that wasn't that important and it almost feels humorous ???
In the game's favor there is no point that is really 'repeated' kind of like how Baldur's Gate 2 is. Everything you do is like, its own thing or 'event' and makes the world feel more lived in rather than a static playground.
The game rewards playstyles that favor: Exploration, clever strategy, and attention to the needs and personalities of characters.
Oh look it's the same Obsishit bait thread with the same replies.
>Oh look it's the same 'x' bait thread with the same replies
That describes half this board.
Not arbitrary at all. Click-to-move dramatically increases strain on the hand and the mouse itself. Your mouse wears out and becomes defective sooner and your likelihood of carpal tunnel syndrome increases. Meanwhile your left hand is hardly utilized for anything.
Oh look, it's a Larianigger having an existential crisis when faced when his incoming demise
DOS2 has a fuckton of problems and Obsidian is a shit studio that doesn't know how to release a game that doesn't have infinite bugs and/or is actually finished.
Everyone happy?
Because NWN had a much better server system and modding tools that were extremely easy to use.
Dunno, It was top 3 games of 2017 for sure.
...lol
Terrible combat, boring world, ugly as fuck. Divinity was heads and shoulders above PoE.
You're shaking in your boots
As he should be.
>people bitching about which one is better
>I'm just going to have fun playing both
>didn't even play the first ones
Feels good
