>kojima decides to make mgs5 into an open world game >it is indeed an open world game however the world is barren and empty with nothing in it and there is absolutely no incentive to explore. world is dead and lifeless despite ocelot saying there was a war going on between the russians and the afghani people
>konami makes metal gear survive >makes the maps like mgs5: master quest >there is good reason to explore the world, there are plenty of things to kill, collect, loot, people to rescue, can interact with the people in your base >people rail against it because konami is evil despite the fact that kojima was once chairman of the company with metal gear and other games being developed under those terrible conditions and he didn't give a shit
give it a chance lads, it's like metal gear solid 5 if it were actually difficult and the world was worth exploring
>the world is barren and empty with nothing in it and there is absolutely no incentive to explore. world is dead and lifeless despite ocelot saying there was a war going on between the russians and the afghani people You completely missed the point. You never were supposed to explore the world, the world is just a sandbox for the missions, and in between you go to MB, coming back to the map close to your objectives.
It's like people didn't even play PW.

>eurogamer go away potato farmer
Jack Nguyen
So that's the excuse after the Steam charts and this?
Noah Adams
Tough choice. 5's story is a total fucking mess but Survive's only has a few twists for itself, the characters are quite banal.
Daniel Cruz
everything i don't like is soy
Hunter Fisher
uh yeah?
The game had negative hype and zero marketing or reviews pre launch. Of course it's gonna come out a bit weak. That game itself is sound
Zachary Thomas
Listen up faggot. MGSurvive wouldn't even exist if Kojima didn't make it. Survive is just reusing assets from MGSV, which was made by Kojima. Yeah of course MGSurvive has good gameplay, thats because Konami isn't sabotaging the game like they did MGSV. What you are playing is just Kojima's true vision of what MGSV should have been, with an amazing deep open world. It is all Konami's fault, they sabotaged MGSV on purpose to get Kojima out of the company, and then they released the unsabotaged version (MGSurvive) to make money when he was gone.

Plot sounds stupid so I won't buy
John Williams
>The game is sound More like silence on the sales charts.

...for now

fuck off kojimacuck

>Replaying MGS V >Go to do a side op >After completing it want to explore on the way to the next side op >Remember there is literally nothing but sand and rocks in between missions, and there is absolutely no reason to travel between ops >Quit to ACC and deploy again because it's faster
Would've been neat if we got little faction battles and other stuff going on. This could have been a dope as balls Mercenaries successor. Pretty sad when a ps2 era game has more shit going on in the world
Julian Peterson
Nigga leave that shit out of this, people are discussing shit
Thomas Scott
Use Horse, a car or fast travel lmao.
>literally nothing but sand and rocks in between missions, and there is absolutely no reason to travel between ops Incorrect, you can use that space to hunt for animals to keep your demon score down
Easton Ross
That's what I'm saying man. Going to the ACC is faster and less boring than hosting around for the millionth time >Hunt animals If that's the only thing going on in the middle of a war, I need to reassess my outlook on the Afghan invasions. Like I see where you're coming from, and I love the game, but I feel like there's really just a lot of missed opportunities for the game world
Luis Russell
>faster and less boring Not really because how else are you going to hunt for animals and i'd personally play the game than hop through a bunch of menus and another chopper ride.
>If that's the only thing going on in the middle of a war, I need to reassess my outlook on the Afghan invasions. What the fuck is this autism?
Dylan Harris
>I feel like there's really just a lot of missed opportunities for the game world
All of it is used for side op and main op missions. There's already a reason to explore it to for capture cages and animal hunting. What else did you need? It has areas of activity outside the bases and those are what are marked as side ops.
Brayden Collins
Why did they have to fuck up the controls for MG:S?
Carson Moore
The slower pace works better indoors and all the extra environment shit. I can't see a replica of V's controls working in this game at all
Ryder Ward
...
Charles Barnes
Has anyone actually played it?
Its a great game. I do not understand the hate for it.
Xavier Sanders
...
James Kelly
To be fair, Konami acted totally shitty and the game had next to no marketing. There's some legitimate talent behind the game and whatever
Chase Rodriguez
The Chad side is fellating the lazor side a bit hard in my opinion, what about this?
Kevin Powell
This proves youyean is an idiot
Carter Gomez
>it is indeed an open world game however the world is barren and empty with nothing in it and there is absolutely no incentive to explore.
Really? I spent 270 hours in that game exploring. Building the zoo, researching, listening to history and philosophy podcasts I uploaded into the game's cassette archive, and foltoning dudes.
My only regret is I can't wipe my FOB and its resources and get a clean slate save without family sharing (which I may do anyway.)
