Well'p it's been nice knowing you guys.
The EVGA GTX 1070 SC I bought about a year and a half ago had its first artifact screen today.
Wasn't overheating or anything either.

It's only like $1,000 to replace it.
That cheap? Had to pay 4 large for mine.
4 large what? 4 large eggs? You still use the barter system?
>Guild Wars
You deserved it.
No warranty?
>implying they can honor the warranty without any cards in stock
Back in the day they'd make a replacement just for you but I doubt any consumer electronics company does that anymore.
looks fine to me
In Yuroland I'd get a full refund or equivalent store credit if they didn't have it in stock. Gotta love civilized consumer laws.
That's literally the point of a warranty. If they can't provide you with a product of equal value they have to give you one of greater value. If they have nothing to give at that time you either have to wait for a better card or you get a refund. Read your warranties.
$4,000, OP.
I sent mine in a month ago, they have plenty to honor warranties with.
>equivalent store credit
>refund
For the price you purchased it at. Nobody is going to refund you something at three times MSRP.
I'm aware. But money back is better than a middle finger.
Yes, store credit. If I bought an irreplaceable $1000 dollar card, I would be able to pick things worth $1000 instead of getting the out of stock card. I know that consumer rights are a concept alien to Yanks, but come on.
$4000 rupees?
Good point. I'm still within the 3 year warranty period.
However, I shut down my computer and turned it back on and the artifacts disappeared. Should I still get it replaced?
Also this particular version of graphics card had a problem to begin with with its VRAM heatsink contact and EVGA sent out thermal mods for the user to fix. I wonder if that voids warranty since you had to unscrew the GPU to fix it.
Also my version of GPU had two batches, first batch used samsung VRAM the second used Micron, with samsung being superior and the micron version having more problems, so I'm afraid if I send it in for replacement they'll give me a micron vram version.
We get store credit too but at MSRP. A $300 video card I bought before cryptofags shot the price up to $900 will only get me a refund of $300.
And? You expect more? Why would you? Getting your money back should be a relief you ungrateful shit.
put it in a oven it fucking works
i baked my gt 730 and it's working for over a year now

I'm not saying I'm expecting more. I'm just saying that a warranty on video cards is almost useless due to how expensive they now are along with the stock shortage to the point that a refund will only be enough to buy an inferior card if any at all.
>blanket melting all of the soldering points in the hopes that they end up precisely where they're supposed to
So you're complaining about your misfortune actually having consequences? At least some of those consequences are mitigated. Some people don't even consider registering their components for warranties and they get downright screwed. These are the same people that can't be bothered to mail a letter with a 30 cent stamp for a $50 rebate.
