What's a good final fantasy to start with?

6 7 or 9.

...

VI, VII or X

4 is basically the most bare bones final fantasy you can think of that still has things like ATB and a focus on story. I don't particularly like the game because of how linear it is and how little freedom you have, but it makes for a good introduction to the series. Just make sure to not play the DS version or you're gonna have a really bad time

4 and play the DS/PC/Android version since it's the most difficult. Also try playing 6. Then play 5 since it's the most similar to those 2. Then play 1, then 3 then 7 then 9 then 10 and also try playing 2. A bunch of people complain about 2 but it's not so bad. Don't play anything else. Well I haven't played 15 but a bunch of people say it's bad.

>start with VII
how to spot underage 101

start with IV or VI

This is so fucking stupid.

As always, you play a series in release order if you give a shit at all. This is the only way to ensure you get the most out of each installment.

There is no reason to do that because the stories of the game are not connected. Also some earlier entries in a series might be shit and turn you off from the later better entries.

final fantasy dimensions

Finished I and XV

Partway through II, X, and XII. I think I started with two that are unlike any of the rest.

Basically dont do what I did lol

Where does XV fit in all of this?

Play them chronologically. It's undoubtedly the best experience. You can skip 2 and 8 if you want, however. No one with a brain will blame you. Stop at 12.

It doesn't.

FF13, 15 maybe 12 because of good graphic.

>Playing in old graphics.
Get with the times.

I started with 8 and subsequently developed an unhealthy FF obsession
Pic unrelated

Brainlet.

In order
FFXII
FFIX
FFVII
FFVI
FFX-2
FFX
WOFF
FFV
FFIV
FFIII

4 is probably the first true final fantasy. 6 is the best of the sprite age. 7 is the famous one. 9 is considered the most true FF by the creator. 15 is the newest. So probably 6. 12 is my fav.

>starting with VII
The most retarded thing you can do.
You start with either I, III or V as that introduces you to the old school turn based combat + job system which is what defines Final Fantasy. From there you can go for II, IV or VI for the cool plots and settings, and THEN you switch to the 3D era with VII, VIII, IX and X. The MMOs are skippable, XII, XIII and XV should be left for last.

You play Tactics when you fall in love with the series.
