Japanese third-party Switch games in 2018

Everyone's always talking about Nintendo game announcements on Switch and I wanted to give some spotlight to some Japanese third-party ones that are confirmed to be coming this year since there's actually a ton of them and I see most of them barely discussed. Which ones are you going to get, if any? In case of multiplats, are you going to get them, but on a different system?

Off the top of my head, there are, in no particular order:
>Octopath Traveler
>Travis Strikes Again - No More Heroes
>The World Ends With You Final Remix
>Dark Souls Remastered
>Megaman 11
>Megaman Legacy Collection 1+2
>Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection
>Dragon Quest Builders 2
>Tales of (if that's still a thing)
>Atelier Lydie & Suelle
>Gal*Gun 2
>SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy
>Labyrinth of Refrain - Coven of Dusk
>The Lost Child
>Touhou Genso Wanderer
>Ys VIII
>Valkyria Chronicles 4
>Shining Resonance Refrain
Probably forgot a few. Personally I'm getting Octopath, NMH, TWEWY, MM11, SNK, Ys and VC4 for sure.

Mega Man and Dark Souls are the only ones that really interest me for right now, and those because I can play on the go. Ys VIII, but I've already got it for the PS4.

Absolutely gonna get Octopath Traveller, since I really liked the demo. I love SMT and quite liked El Shaddai, so I'll deffo get The Lost Child, but tossing up whether or not I'll go for the PS4 version or not. VC4, too. I know Shining Refrain is just basically a poor man's Tales/Star Ocean kinda thing, so might just wait and get it when it hits the bargain bin.

For the non-memer importfags; is Coven honestly any good?

Looking forward to Twewy and Octopath
I don't get multiplats on switch I don't really care about the portability meme

how is the switch version compared to the ps4 version? Have you heard anything from the japanese release?

Any other titles on that list you're getting on PS4 or PC then?

I only care about twewy and NMH on that list. I don't get why people would want a portable dark souls

I don't much about Octopath traveller, can you sell me on it ? I'm mostly a SaGa, Bravely and Breath of Fire fan.

>2 remakes
>no sequel

It's amazing how poorly squeenix treats their cult classics. This is Chrono tier of shitting on fans. Then again even their high profile franchises get a terrible treatment considering how kingdom hearts went

I think you'll dig it, it's very much from the '90s school of JRPGs with a combat system that strongly emphasises taking advantages of element/weapon-type weaknesses.

Can't say I'm sold on the visual style, but the soundtrack's pretty good.

they made a 2nd gal gun?

Definitely digging that music, and I must say as a SaGa fan the artstyle is right up my alley, I'm mostly wondering if the gameplay will have the level of customizability and fun mechanics I enjoy. Not much into DQ stuff.

The one you posted, Double Peace, is actually the second one, the first one was simply titled Gal*Gun and was Japan-exclusive. They then went on to make Gal*Gun VR also on PC and thus this upcoming Gal*Gun 2 is technically the fourth game.

Guess what? Most of those are old ports that look/run worse on every single platform, while COSTING MORE.

This is more like picking up the scraps from the primary platforms rather than actual support. Once devs make larger games, the Switch is quick to be ignored. Even primary series like Dragon Quest get delayed months.

This isn't support so much as its Japanese devs porting before the system hype dies down.

>NMH
Neutral Milk Hotel is on the Switch?

Some cheap no more heroes game that's not even a true sequel

Only the Megaman Legacy Collection is an old port among that whole list, everything else is either original games or remasters that are coming out at the same time as other systems.

What are the odds of getting Dragon Quest Heros 2 and Dragon Quest XI?

salty

go away Sup Forums

Don't see why DQ Heroes 1+2 shouldn't come over, every other musou seems to. As for DQXI, I'm wondering if the silence on its localization is because they intend to bring the Switch version west at the same time as the PS4 and 3DS versions. I hope that's the case at least, otherwise Square Enix has been sitting on the localization for about a year for no reason.

DQ Heroes has already released in Japan while DQ 11 switch has yet to come out.

You're right, thanks.

Megaman Legacy Collection 1+2

Just found out you have to download 2. Wtf a switch cart cant hold a few sprites.

I was going to get Street Fighter but after having my eyes opened by ARMS I don't want to go back to competitive rock-paper-scissors fightan'. I'm just getting Dark Souls and TWEWY. Maybe No More Heroes but only if it's good.

Anybody else HYPE for that Castle of Heart game on eShop? It look slammin.

Isn't that TWEWY game a touch screen game where battles took place on both top and bottom screen on DS at the same time? How will that work on Switch?

Is there anything with an actual release date? Preferably soon

Just Capcom being cheap, both collections combined are no more than 4.85 GB.

Now that I think about it I also forgot some Bandai Namco anime games like the Naruto UNS Trilogy and My Hero Academia One's Justice.

Battles have been reworked to be on one screen like on the smartphone version, you still have touch controls available in handheld mode while you have some kind of different controls using the joy-cons while docked.

Yeah, not really a fan of 2D platformers normally, but this looks pretty fun.

Atelier is March, Dark Souls, MM Legacy Collection and Street Fighter are May, SNK Heroines and Gal*Gun are Spring, almost everything else is Summer with a few generic 2018s still.

The Lost Child is June-August. The PS4, Vita and Switch versions are all due on the same date, I think.

Lost complete interest in NMH when it was announced not even a sequel and doesn't even play like the other 2.

Plus I don't buy games for the sake of supporting since my interests always comes first.

Anyone getting Payday 2 tomorrow? I've never played it before and it looks pretty fun.

source?

If you mean coven the switch version is non-existent. Its a west only thing.

Don't be lazy and just go on wiki and check the development subheading if you want proof.

It's gonna be about indie games or something

it's still slated to have traditional NMH gameplay in there as well so I don't know what that user is on about.

The gameplay is going to be the same, the made-up indie games are the themes for the different worlds while the real indie games will simply appear on wearable t-shirts.
