Square even said this is the largest team they have had making a game. Nomura is using ALL of the Osaka Team, 100 members of the Tokyo Team and some outsourcing to make KH 3. Square has given this man an unlimited budget and he his going fucking crazy with it. His plan for the final world is something he's always wanted to do way back when he started working on FF. Didn't someone in previous threads theorize that since Castle Oblivion would probably be a world for saving Ven, they'd bring back the card system solely for that world?

I'm sure it's hyperbole but there seems to be a lot more verticality to the maps to use the drop-like feature, especially with Olympus Colosseum and Tangled world

I doubt that'd be the case. Maybe the area of the explorable zones, but not necessarily the actual length of the content in it. The size of the explorable areas in the older games are tiny, even combined. It's not unrealistic for a single worldspace to occupy the size of all the disney worlds in KH2, which only consists of a small number of zones each.

Honestly, making every world the size of a game would just bore me. I'm content with spending 3-6 hours in each world before moving on.

Better than Birth By Sleep is very debatable, overall the huge ammount of contents in BBS gives it an edge although i find the raw combat in Re:Coded better
But better than CoM and DDD? Very fucking easily, CoM has a fucking great story but the card system's novelty tires out FAST and DDD stripped so fucking much from BBS it's embarassing

The series peaked a hell of a long time ago. Beltan Zippers and an incomprehensible story ruined the franchise.
