Green is pretty great this banner. Guunthra is the "weakest" of the pulls and since she's a Leggo she'll always be rotating in every other month or so. I have a BIke, but I'm hoping to pull another and Dorcas. Then I can safely melt the 2 BIkes and put them elsewhere.

Fuck, Dorcas and Bike make green by far the best pick.
I just want Ephraim but Shiro and Corrin are such trash, at least Corrin has good artwork I suppose.

Not compared to def or atk. He has one less res than my +atk - hp Hector so I can just switch him out and not much will change. Also distant defense can help.

What is the appeal of this game? I am genuinely asking as someone who hasn't played it. Is it just a fun game to play on the go? Is it style of coming back and slowly getting stronger and stronger? Is it just good gameplay? ...Waifus?

For me it's a bit everything personally i still don't know why i haven't dropped it like every gatcha game i've played

If you want my opinion, it's because the game has a slight pvp slant and a good difficulty curve that rewards min-maxing and tactical thinking among a lot of other things that some people might find appealing.
