FFXV WINDOWS EDITION DEMO

How's your performance?
I can only get the game to run on 4k with a 30fps framerate with my 1060.

for a 1060 that's quite impressive actually, where's the demo?

where do you think it is, silly?

game looks good and runs well on max on a 1080ti, the draw distance is terrible though, hopefully its tweakable in the full game

Steam.

It runs fine on my 1060 too. I didn't think the demo was anything special but I'm still considering getting the game just for Noctis. He's so cute.

You can already tweak it in the ini files.

The benchmark demo was already very tweakable, to the point that people with some Intel HD graphics managed to get playable framerates.

It gets up to 40 to 50 if I run the game on low preset in 4k.

in hindsight it was obvious.
Is it a long demo? I don't want to download all that if it's less than an hour

the draw distance is fine maxed out, the main problem is dithering

it's practically the whole first chapter.
no, you won't be able to import your save to full game.

you won't get rid of dithering without either succumbing to TAA or downscaling, or both. Japs have started to use dithered 1-bit alphas for transparencies in their games, and it's pretty annoying when all the screen filter is removed. You either go with vaseline coated graphics, or deal with the pseudo-Sega Saturn looks of hair and flora.

>it's practically the whole first chapter.
I don't have a frame of reference for how long that actually is in this game

I find the game to be more appealing on low preset. Am I insane?

I don't know why I thought it would be a better game at 60fps

depends on how much you do the numerous sidequests and grindan. The story of the game itself is fairly short, even by FF's standards.

skin SSS holy shit!

Game is still shit even if it was at 120fps.

It's on PC now, it's amazing.

said no one ever

Any performance tips?

It definitely looks smoother on average settings. The dithering on especially the hair is just ugly to look at.

Unless of course, your PC has the muscle to have everything on high/ultra, when it looks like absolute sex. The middle ground is worst.

Very late re re re re re reminder 15 is shit

I'm just here for Cindy lewds

Poorfag here, currently downloading. GPU drivers from november 2015 btw.

Is turfworks worth a 20fps drop from 60 to 40?

I want 15 to become nothing more than a sex mod. I want a 100% converted and overhaul of pure dirty sex.

Says every mustard. They even praised XIII.

no they didn't

I turned TRAM from high to low and it went from like 40-45 to 58-60. TRAM even on average just wrecks my machine. God I wish I had the sense to buy more ram ages ago.

There's a post on steam talking about performance impact from each option that seemed accurate enough.

For a mediocre PC, update drivers first.

Borderless fullscreen: From the ini in \Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XV PLAYABLE DEMO set
FullScreenModeOnStartup=1
HardwareFullScreenMode=0

60 FPS cap, no V-sync. TRAM to high at most. Geomapping and Ambient Occlusion off. Everything else to average. NVIDIA shit off.

What does tram even do?

They can shout to the gods that thr game is amazing it will still be shit trash garbage of a ff game.

Death to square enix praise to the gods that are squaresoft may they bless us all

i5 4590 + GTX 1070
Resolution: 1440p
LoD: Average
Filtering: Low
Lighing: High
Shadows: High
Ambient Occlusion: High
Anisotropic Filtering: High
Anti-Aliasing: Off
Motion Blur: Off
High Quality Assets: On
TRAM: Set to use as much Vram for textures as it needs
Render Resolution: 100%

I get 60fps easily, with very rare drops only when everyone is doing some horse shit. I fucking despise the anti-aliasing options in this game. FXAA is a blurry mess, TXAA is also blurry, and the screen filtering option is ANOTHER form of post processing blur (that is more taxing than you think).

TRAM uses higher quality textures. The quality and speed at which textures are streamed in greatly increases because all the texture data is being kept in the graphics card's memory.

No Nvidia feature is worth it. Turfworks dramatically increases the amount of foliage in areas as well as adds some more physics based interaction with them.

But the game already looks good with the flora it ships with, that sacrifice is not worth it.

>Turn on the FPS counter ingame
>Says it's using 0% graphic memory

Is this normal?

What's even the point of posting results with high-end PCs? You have 500+ dollar GPU's/CPU's, of course it fucking runs good.

Of course. Japanese coding magic is just so good that the game, in-fact, doesn't use ANY vram!

Man, i wish theres option for download only 1080p textures. 19gb for 8k textures is just ridiculous.

1070 is a $380 card from 2016, user. That's not high end. His CPU is 6-7 years old.

And it doesn't matter what hardware you have, bad optimization means the software isn't taking advantage of what you have leading to absurdly poor performance for what you have. Example: Nier Automata running like ass even on things like a 1080 Ti when all settings are on.

No, it's horse shit. When I was playing the demo I used Rivatuner Statistics Server and kept an eye on the VRAM usage.

With TRAM on Average: ~4.8GB
With TRAM on High: 7.4GB is the highest I've seen it use

Absolutely, the option to pick and choose what assets you want to download needs to become the norm. I don't need fucking French, Russian, Chinese audio or these insane textures ballooning the size of the game.

weird TRAM for me was set to high and my VRAM usage never went over 4gb

Yeah, my VRAM usage definitely climbed when I set it that to high. Consistently, whether I switched it on-off in-game or from the main menu before loading the file.

I definitely suggest setting that to low because there are some performance gains to be had from doing so.

>TRAM: Set to use as much Vram for textures as it needs
What would that be? High?

Highest, and for those wondering it's related to texture streaming. Set to low and watch many of the world's objects stay in their muddy state for longer before their higher quality texture streams in.

This was a picture I took on the BENCHMARK, Maxed out, did they fix it or it was not considered important? (although in first person mode I suppose one would see it immediately)

>VRAM
Actually remember reading that if under 4GB VRAM graphic card, then you need more actual RAM for this game. more than 8GB.

Does it have any noteable performance impact?

>4k
>1060
Why would you buy a 4k monitor when you only have a 1060? That's dumb.

Cant wait for Cindy gangbang sfm porn

Downsampling works fine for mgsv

>Tried FF15 on console
>Buttery smooth 15fps, could only pick up a single hunt quest at a time
>On PC
>Looks better, solid 120fps, there has been an update to let you pick up multiple hunts
>Modding
>No DRM
Thanks for beta testing.

Not that user, but my GTX970 ran out of VRAM with it set on highest, and the game had 2~3 second freezes all over.
probably because of my shitty CPU too (old i3 shit)

Yeah, if you're trying to squeeze as much performance as possible that should be set to low. Other hogs are TAA, the vague "screen filter" setting, and the LOD setting.

>19 gigs for a demo

The game overall just looks horrible.

Be wary with TRAM on high or highest. If you set it too high, the game will use a shitload of Vram. We all know what happens when a game exceeds the amount of available vram.

shoudn't take you longer than 20 minutes to download

>1360x768
>maxed out

It's the entire first chapter of the game.

So when's it coming out?

March 6

why are you even trying to run 4k with a baby dick 1060? it's literally the white male penis of modern GPUs

>No DRM
No Denuvo EULA on FF15 store page doesnt mean the game doesnt use Denuvo.
It Will use Denuvo.

I am getting pretty much stable 60fps at highest setting at 1080p.
But holy shit I'm getting mad stuttering for some reason, and the characters sometime look really jittery too.

1440p, 60fps
Everything maxed out, even Nvidia stuff
55~60fps
Never noticed any stuttering

I'm on an i7 7700k and a gtx1080

Game looks and runs great for me.

>expecting no DRM when even their low mobile port FF garbage use denuvo

Anyone else getting weird flickering with clothes and some models?

>How's your performance?
I cannot get rid of the blurr. I have everything maxed out but the face of noctis and his surroundings looks out of focus
Btw why did these fucks cap the fps at 120?

getting 90-110 fps on gtx 1080, 1440p high settings

it's not a good game anyway (boring standard combat) so who cares

you should probably reduce some settings to get better fps. the highest settings often make no big visual difference. i got the same setup btw

the 1060 is more powerful than you think

>thought people were memeing about holding buttons combat
>they weren't

40fps 1440p or 60fps 1080p?

>This game from them uses denuvo that means all of them do
Retarded brainlet. Its already confirmed FF15 doesn't use denuvo.

I own one and it really isn't. Its not a 4k card, you'd never hit 60 at 4k, and who cares about 30.

I enjoy the hair and turf effects. They look really good and at 1440p I've yet to spot a jaggie. I have a 144hz monitor but I only really use it in MP games. I can live with 60fps for a single player RPG.

I'm happy with it. I think it's going to be a pretty damn good port.

I do. In mgsv, street fighter v and tekken as long as kuma isn't on screen.

>you'd never hit 60
meme if the camera doesn't move a lot i play a lot of turn based games so i don't much about fps

No you don't.

Turf works without AA is a complete mess.

Yes I do.

Isn't that true for pretty much every Nvidia's XXworks? I remember hairworks looking like shit in Witcher 3 without AA.

No you don't.

>mfw when I didn't fall for the 8GB ram meme

>We all know what happens when a game exceeds the amount of available vram.
what? i have a shitty 2gb card and use 3gb of vram to play gta5

The full game is over 100 gigs.

Ryzen bros where we at? Is it true the game loves our babies?

Maybe your card is broken. I own a 1060 6 GB and street fighter cranked up to the max settings runs with a smooth 60fps on 4k

well i have a 1060 6gb and 8gb of ram so i dunno

I hear the demo is the very beginning of the game. Can you import your progress to the full game? I don't want to repeat it when it comes out.

Just fuck my HDD up

It was more than enough when I got the ram I just never bothered to get more or replace it.

Does Nvidia shadowlibs cause insane shadow flickering for anyone else?

Anyone have a 7870 in this day and age? How does it do?

Does the world look better later in the game? It looks pretty shit at the start, character models are nice though.

worst drop is 40 during heavy fight with everything on ultra and jewnvidia effects on

Can I expect worse into the game or this demo is a good general benchmark ?
