>Pick Black
>Crouchblock spam the entire game
>Down+Heavy when an opponent gets too close
>Rinse and repeat the entire game
>Refuse rematches

The only reason to switch to Jap dub

>block your attack
>punish with a full combo
Are you perhaps retarded?

>Crouchblock spam the entire game
>Down+Heavy when an opponent gets too close
>get counterhit or whiff punished because 2H has like 20f startup and really long recovery

i don't know how to avoid being pressured on block it seems like they can just attack and overhead forever and call in a million assists and dragon rush and there's no chance to hit back at them at all

use reflect more and vanish in gaps to get out

Reflect out of it. Also blocking builds good meter, so it's not all bad, just watch out for the lows, highs, and dragon rushes, and reflect out once you thinj they're coming to an end, because with assists, you can only go so far on a block string.

ree make tribeam give blue life on tien

Most will say reflect and thats not wrong but until you figure out where and when you can use it, tag alpha counter is almost always a good choice.

After they go low they can only go high, unless they have a rare low special. They only have two assists so after they use them it's probably your turn. Multi hitting highs to low can be tricky though. The actual mixup in this game is not nearly as hard to block as Marvel or GG.

well yeah block pressure is insanely good in this game, that's why everyone who says "block spam" is obviously garbage at this game
anyway, you should find the timing to OS block a lot of the slower setups like iad button button / iad button land low
this would be pretty easy in any other game but dbfz has horrible training mode with only 1 recording option so enjoy
deflect and guard cancel are also good but you have to know where gaps are and what moves can be punished by guard cancel
extra tip if you plink vanish (like H~M) you can combo after guard cancel, the followups are going to be really scaled but you put them back in the corner with a slide knockdown so it's worth it

Clayton please translate your posts.
What does plinking a vanish actually do? Guard cancel?

if you plink vanish you get a wallbounce and combo if you don't you don't
basically vanish checks if you're doing a move and if the opponent is in hitstun to wallbounce
guard cancel recovers very quickly on hit so the only way to combo after it is to plink the vanish, immediately cancelling the startup of a move into vanish
this is also useful for converting off of projectiles that hit after you recover, like ginyu for example

I'll assume guard cancel means the tag counter right? The one that becomes sort of an alpha counter if you got 1 player left?

And even if you manage to get a wallbounce vanish from that, how do you end with a sliding knockdown from it?

Bad game design really, game promotes auto pilot gameplay. Try to reflect or teleport and hope they press a button.

yeah guard cancel is the alpha counter
and the slide knockdown is character specific a lot of character can get one with corner
and even if you don't you get pressure anyway

That's not Black

Who /onlyplaysarcade/ here?

>not ginyu force

Its so obvious you're gay

>It's a "faggot infinites with Cell" episode

Yeah bullshit, I just got juggled by a fucking Cellfag.

>nobody here has ever seen the Tenshinhan intro
Almost considering putting him on point just to watch it

post replay

>still no local party matches

at this point I've become an expert at getting raped by the hardmode Black/Buu/Cell final team on Snake Way.

And is it just me or is the AI getting better?

cell must be stopped before he reaches his true final form. or everyone will be sent to the after life for infinity years

>Yeah bullshit, I just got juggled by a fucking Cellfag.
what does that even mean

This is unironically better than the last ten episodes of Super.

holy shit this is fucking amazing who made this?

>that fucking gohan

the memes were far better than super itself

Most of it looks like edited Super animation.

Still good though.

is it sad that the final battle will probably have just as many recycled scenes?

Why does this look better animated than the actual show?

it doesn't
it's the same as the show since it's just an edit

twitter.com/Initial_J28/status/967974246717837314

>it doesn't
It definitely does

The choreography feels smoother and the pacing is way better since it isn't punctuated with retarded side comments from the viewers on the side and zenny

They used Super's animation better than Super did what the fuck

>character specific
Seems about right. Gotta start practicing those tag combos.

>ez to perform specials with the stick but dashing is tedious
>ez to maneuver with d pad but fuck up constantly doing specials
>can't do any combos other than the auto ones and L>M>H

I haven't touched a fighting game since Tekken on the PSP and holy shit do I suck. How do I git gud bros? And who should I use?

well yeah, the anime has to drag out those 5 bits of animation for an entire episode
if you count that then it does look "better"

Do you people even watch super? The actual action scenes tend to look like this most of the time and interruption is minimal, usually before and after the commercial breaks.

>The actual action scenes tend to look like this most of the time

lol do you expect anyone to believe that

no

>How do I git gud bros?
Just practice doing special inputs with d-pad. Actual practice. It will take more than one session for you to get used to it. But the good thing is, once you have mastered throwing a fireball input in both directions you will have essentially mastered it for life. All future fighting games will therefore become more accessible for you.

Thank you doctor for my dose

QCF is the only special move notation in this game. Ho would that be hard on pad?

>Do you people even watch super?
Of course they don't. They watched some meme videos about how terrible the animation was during the first two seasons and now just read summaries of Super episodes and pretend that Z was flawless.

incredible

except this is the animation studio tasked with creating a new season of one of the most globally recognizable series in history. Surely they have the budget to make a fight like this and then have enough to animation NEW scenes for a new fight later one yes? You understand that's how anime is normally supposed to work?

Toei is lazy as fuck and wants their toy show to be as cheap as possible. When you take their collective effort and sum it up into a 60 second webm it actually comes off as alright for once.

It really does. Super tends to get memed to death because every so often it has inconsistencies like off-model art and lazy/filler animation like ATATATATATAATTAATA but animation in the show is not just shit most of the time like people have been memeing about since episode 5.

did I just see a fucking mexican flag gohan

i'm not defending super lmao
i'm just saying the edit doesn't look "better" because it's just animation from the show pasted together

No one does that and the only people I know who watch super are half fucking retarded.

>budget
Nice meme.
It's about time, not money.

>creating a new season of one of the most globally recognizable series in history.
Super is not a seasonal anime. It aired weekly with almost no breaks for 2 years now with a tight schedule and having to follow the vague outline of an old dementia riddled man.

There have been MAYBE two good episodes this whole series, both times when they brought in that freelancer guy who worked on the old series. I think the first Veggy vs Jiren fight and the Kale & Caulifla vs Goku episodes. Besides those the animation has been utter garbage and the direction is even worse

I wish cell cam back in dbs

Oh fuck off with that. The quality of this arc has been consistently high and is better than Z ever was most of the time.

You forget how shoddy Z was at times.

>Toei is lazy as fuck and wants their toy show to be as cheap as possible.
That's not how it works. Even their actual toy commercials, Kamen Rider and Super Sentai, have decently sized budgets.

DBS had to be churned out at the same time as One Piece, Tiger Mask, PreCure, etc. It suffered purely because the animators were under time constraints and took a lot of shortcuts, especially considering the first two "arcs" were just movie retellings and those same animators had just finished animating those two movies, essentially.

I was just arguing that whoever created that webm had better direction than the directors at Super. To me that counts when I say "it looks better." Direction in my book matters just as much as animation. Case in point was that weird Naruto vs Pain episode. Great animation in any other series where that would have been consistent, but it's weird and is highly criticized because it came out of nowhere

that episode of the tournament of power where there is a flashback of Whis explaining the Ultra Instinct during the RoF saga is the perfect example of how the animation improved a lot since the beginning. The writing still is fanfic-tier tho, Jiren's backstory breaks all possible laws of good storytelling.

>There have been MAYBE two good episodes this whole series
Oh fuck off. Opinion discarded.

Z was FAR and away more consistent in it's direction and animation quality. I'm not saying every episode has to be a masterpiece, but literally every episode of DBS had me facepalming at least once per episode because of how absolutely garbage it is

The story could be better, I agree.

It's not as terrible as some people say (usually they are bitching about power levels rather than the story, anyway) but it definitely could be improved.

I'd honestly still take it over the Buu arc though...

Pablo Gonzales probably

Don't bother arguing with people defending super.

Most of the time they build arguments based on the assumption that people are saying Z and DB were perfect when in reality people are just pointing out it wasn't THIS bad.

The manga version shows how the story isn't actually bad, just is poorly executed by Toei writers

Go rewatch Z.
Not Kai.
Go rewatch it and try and do it without the nostalgia goggles.

I love Z, but it was not the masterpiece people remember. Even the epic Goku vs Frieza fight had its dodgy moments.

And stalling. So much stalling.
There was way more staring and looking at each other to avoid animating anything than Super.

>Z was FAR and away more consistent in it's direction and animation quality
Are you remember it as it aired or remembering re-releases or even Kai episodes? You have to remember all the moments of dead air, talking, charging up ki, and ki blast spam that was used to fill time.
And not to mention that after the Frieza saga, the show looked like actual shit at times.

kid Jiren playable when

>The manga version shows how the story isn't actually bad
Nope, the story is still actually bad in the manga. The difference is power scaling consistency and explaining things that the anime leaves unexplained.

>Most of the time they build arguments based on the assumption that people are saying Z and DB were perfect when in reality people are just pointing out it wasn't THIS bad.
The problem is that Super's animation regularly surpasses Zs and is often almost movie quality. While there are dips in quality for less important episodes this is literally how Dragon Ball, or indeed pretty much all weekly animé, has always been.

>the manga fixes the two main complainings everyone has about the anime version's writing
>but still is shit tho

>Those were the only flaws with the writing of the anime

to be fair I see people bitching about power scalling more than anything else

Because the plots are fucking stupid. I'm not going to pretend like Dragonball is a smart series or anything, but come on dude
>tournament between a twin universe that has deviant art characters
>evil goku and future trunks returns in the same arc with stupid time travel
>tournament with 80 fucking people in it that are all the strongest guys in their universe and we're supposed to pretend it has stakes even though End of Z is canon
>Goku is still going to get an autopilot power up that wins fights for him

Okay, sure thing senpai. You can have your own opinion about it. I wasn't really looking to know what it was but I'm sure you felt the need to share with me.

>senpai
>still getting caught by the word filter in current year

none of this concepts are inherently bad, only poorly executed by toei writing staff

and Zamasu was the most enjoyable villain the series had since Freeza

A regular user who lurks the DBS threads on Sup Forums, he made similar webms before like webm related

>none of this concepts are inherently bad,
are you being serious?

AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

>giving a fuck about the most useless shit possible
Suit yourself.
