Hey you fellas wanna play a vidya? Posting because a few of you said you'd be interested when a demo came out. One thread now, and if it dies, another one in about six hours to catch that crew. Then no more shilling from me.

shame bump
cant play it rn cause mobilefag
That's okay user, just promise you'll set an alarm for the exact second you expect to get home so you can remember to try it.
of course!
>Can't play because mac
shieeeeet
>You are a toy in some nerds room
One step ahead of modders already I see.
...
How have your work with bots been going?
Alright OP, you've caught my interest with these webm's. What is this and where can I play it?
Of course it's in the OP. I am a fool.
Pretty well. I'm putting a lot of effort into them because I know there's a good chance that the player base dies off. Want to make sure no one feels like they wasted money. Their decision making could use some additional factors and they still need work and will always require tweaking, but I'm proud of what I've got so far.
It happens. But yeah, it's volleyball meets shooter. It's not a complex game concept by any means, but hopefully people will come to see that as a pro and not a con.
I was thinking besides different behaviors you could add specific bots with special rules, such as a bot that shoots two projectiles, a bot that flies and so on. This could really give a new unique spin on that challenge ladder you mentioned.
Yes, I am a big fan of that idea, and I can all but guarantee it will be implemented to some degree. I won't have anything to show for a while because now my focus is on spreading the word, and when I can put my energy to devving again, the netplay is my next big goal. But I will definitely not forget about that when it comes time to work on the challenges.
I'm just saying, getting the word around is just as important as having actual content for people to play.
Here's another idea, different stages with different rules to add replayability.
Thanks. When you say different rules, what kind of rules do you mean? Each current court (minus Gym) has a sort gimmick to it, and there are additional ways to mix it up... three intensity settings, three ball types, and five gravity types. Score, time, and practice are the main modes, as well. All of these things can be mixed up and interchanged, and can really honestly make the matches feel pretty different.
Do you mean like modes that aren't as volleyball-like?
VR support?
looks like average experimental VR game
The thought has crossed my mind, but having not tried VR, I can't be sure if it would be "too much" or not. Most VR games I've seen are shooting galleries with no movement because supposedly it makes people puke otherwise.
That said, I do have a 3D Vision setup and it's pretty neat in 3D. But not really any more or less than any other game.
Ice level that makes the player slide, open ended level that has wind in it, semi-open level where the shots don't ricochet off the walls, these types of things.
Also it would be good if you made the challenge ladder have specific rules for the map in which specific bots are faced.
Great minds think alike, I guess:
>Ice level that makes the player slide
Planned
>open ended level that has wind in it
Planned but maybe not exactly how you describe it
>semi-open level where the shots don't ricochet off the walls,
Bouncing is an important aspect, so I wouldn't expect this one. It might wind up as a negative effect in the challenge mode, though.
>Also it would be good if you made the challenge ladder have specific rules for the map in which specific bots are faced.
This has pretty much been my plan all along. The challenge ladder will be borrowing heavily from games like UT, Smash Bros, and other multi-player focused games that have a decent amount of well-thought out SP content.
Oh then you're set to go, other than maybe some cosmetic skins I don't see what else you could add to the game.
Oh I had an idea, maybe a hot potato mode where once the time ends the ball explodes and whichever side it's on loses a point.
Interesting... will keep that in mind. I think ARMS has a mode like this and I remember hearing it wasn't too good. Maybe it just didn't work well in ARMS though. Will consider.
looks breddy fun is it just bots now or does it have multiplayer?
Thanks user, I definitely hope people think it's fun. There isn't online MP yet, but the demo does have 4 player split-screen. You can do multiple controllers or KB+M with controllers.
You need to create some sort of grid so players can know where the boundaries end on those types of map. Soccer fields have them in the real world
downloading now op this better be good
>There isn't online MP yet
then what's the point
Yeah, on that court in particular there will be better identification of the boundaries. Right now it's just the corner poles, but it will be clearer in the final design. I do plan a court similar to this where the boundaries only appear when near, but that will be unique to that court. Most of the courts will have easily identifiable boundaries.
Thanks, I hope you rike it.
Proof of concept and, in my biased opinion, the bots are fun. Also splitscreen.
Linux support?
Not yet, but hopefully for a future version.
This looks really /fun/, friend. I hope everything works out with this game
Sweet, I'll check it out later
Stop making itch.io games! The marketing jews have taken noticed and added them to their powerpoint presentations!
Thanks broseph, me too. Tell your buddies.
Excellent.
I made it 32 posts before being called a Jew. That's actually pretty impressive.
Except I didn't call you a Jew. I said the marketing jews have taken notice of itch.io games and have added them to their internal powerpoint presentations on marketing
Oh my bad, I misread it... I guess the streak continues, then. I honestly never paid attention to itch until after DDLC came out, but it seems like a great platform for developers like me.
mobilefag here, played the game pretty fun and a great job from you, are you developing it alone?
Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you liked it! And yeah, currently it's just me. I'd like to bring on another modeler, or at the very least, an actual musician. But that requires funding I don't have yet.
You are doing a great job so far man, keep it up, wish you the best!
Great to hear, thanks!
