Everyone tells me to buy the new 2ds xl because the 3d feature was shit because it hurts their eyes or some shit

>everyone tells me to buy the new 2ds xl because the 3d feature was shit because it hurts their eyes or some shit
>have been playing my new 3ds non-stop for 5 hours now with the 3d at full setting
>initially everything felt a little off but my brain adjusted to it just fine
>no double vision, no headaches, no strange sensations of vertigo after playing
>having a blast, the 3d affect is quite nice
>it's a shame nintendo dropped it and companies didn't feel the need to develop higher res versions of the screen

I don't get it, is this something that only affects subhumans with very limited neural plasticity or something? If so, is it these same subhumans that bitched and moaned enough to kill 3D on the consumer market, especially in the video game industry?

I like the 3d

It doesn't hurt my eyes but I can never line it up properly and some parts of the screen will be misaligned which gets too distracting
So i just don't bothet

The 3d is not bad but you dont want it all the time because it drains your battery and why you want 3d in grinding? The 3d it's epic with bosses

3d sucks because it's gimmicky shit the games barely made use of stop inflating yourself.

>barely made use of
>pretty much every game I've played has used the 3D effect in some way
>having depth perception in certain genres is great, especially platformers

3D works okay but being a human with glasses it dont work well since the camera cant keep an eye on my eyes (new 3ds included) just wish it didnt it affect the frames so its an out for me

In my experience, the 3d effect added nothing noteworthy to games other than the novelty of it, and if you didn't hold your 3ds directly perpendicular to your eyes at the correct distance, it ghosted and jittered like fuck.

Only games that have used the 3d properly are mario 3d land and link between worlds.

Whenever you see a group of people constantly complaining about something on the internet, they probably look like pic related.

>Bitching about 3D because their shit genetics gave them 20/150 vision? pic related

>bitching about the plot of The Last Jedi and wanting it struck from Star Wars canon? pic related

>giving a clothing store a 0/5 rating because it doesn't carry their size? pic related

>Liking capeshit? PIC RELATED

I love the 3D and it will forever pain me to know that not only is it dead going forward, but it was essentially killed off on the 3DS a few years in anyway. Pokemon didn't even have 3D except for the battles, which then then killed off.
The 3D really made shit 100x more immersive, adventure games like the zelda remakes, and flying games like Ace Combat and Kid Icarus really got a gigantic boost from it.
And all I've used was a original 3DS, I've heard the 3D on the new ones is even better.
Never experienced any of the complaints about headaches caused by it or anything like that, I have had to turn it off sometimes like in Pokemon when shit got too laggy, but otherwise 3D has never caused a problem, how are you holding your 3DS if not in front of your face anyway?

It's allows better judgement if distance and looks nice.

Playing Bravely default in 2d kills the game and completely takes me out of it

wasnt this some kind of reddit meetup? I remember this picture.

Yeah same here, genuinely never experienced a single issue with it except in Rumble World if you rubbed your Pokemon up against the front in the plaza.
3D is great, I always have it on unless I lack the charger with me. My sister with astigmatism can't use it though.
In particular I found it excellent in Animal Crossing NL, which I rarely see praise for though.

Funny how cute girls are keeping their tits in, because they know that men want them anyway.

I understand why some people don't like the 3d, but what I don't understand is why some people complain about having to put your head in a sweet spot to make use of it. Said spot is the neutral position your head naturally rests in when you're not moving it. Do people constantly move their heads around when playing handheld games? I've had absolutely zero problems with this, even when I'm lying down or using one hand.

The 3ds effect makes the picture look less blurry in SMT 4 and Final, playing without it on makes everything meld together.

This is also true for Dragon Quest VII

Because the screen has a real resolution of 800x240, there's just a filter on top that blocks half the horizontal pixels from the other eye in a "striped" layout. When you have the 3D turned on, the full 800x240 can be seen, but when you turn the 3D off the filters are no longer activated and the screen blends the two halves together into 400x240

To give you an idea, the PSP from 2004 had a resolution of 480x272

Is it true for MH4U as well? I swear some choices of font seem to be specifically kind of blurry. I can't test it with 3D myself because Ive 2DS XL.

The 3D was shit on the original 3DS because you had to constantly govern your view of the screen

On the N3DS it's amazing. I always play with 3D on and it's disappointing when they release games that don't allow it.

The New 3DS fixed the issue with the old model where you had to be looking at the screen from one very precise spot for the 3D to work. While the 3D effect is nice, it takes away from the visuals and even makes the frame rate tank in some games like Pokemon Sun/Moon. It's also not really worth sacrificing battery life for

Is that guy slightly to the left trying to dress up like Seto Kaiba?

The problem with 3D is that you need to render the same scene twice, slightly differently, to achieve the effect. All other things being equal, this means you need twice the GPU power you would to keep the same resolution and framerate of just a single 2D image. On a handheld, this is particularly bad, since handhelds aren't that powerful. I mean just look at the Switch. Most of its games run in handheld mode in sub-720p resolution. If they then had to render twice, most of the games would probably be running at around 360p or something. Most people would probably take a higher resolution over 3D effect.

Oh yeah MH4U looks absolutely amazing with the 3D on.

I hate this console, its uncomfortable to emulate, and the hardware is too shitty to give out money for

Oh good, a 3ds thread. Was about to start one myself. Anyone who owns the New 3DS (not XL) can tell me what it is like? Would you have preferred the XL if given the chance? I am on the fence of buying one.

It's really too small for adult hands, go for the XL, the price difference is worth it and you get a much bigger screen which is comfy as fuck.

Oh great a 3DS thread.
Radiant Historia have no business being this fucking good.

money isn't an issue
should i get a n2dsxl or n3dsxl, someone please redpill me
also i plan on hacking it via flashcart fyi

The 3DS is just higher quality, so I'd definitely get it over a 2DS, you might like the 3D effect

I always had the 3D at full and I was fine, even with the OG 3DS. I thought it made the games look better, which is technically did since it was basically giving you a higher resolution image between both eyes.

>you had to constantly govern your view of the screen
Only if you have severe ADHD.
