Bosses are immune to status effects

>bosses are immune to status effects

>build your character around a skill/perk
>bosses are immune to it

>boss is weak to healing

>spend all your potions beating this tough as fuck boss
>get it down to a millimeter of health
>YESSS

>it suddenly has another form and the 2nd stage healthbar pops up

>boss beats you
>game over
>defeat boss
>boss beats you anyway in cutscene

>spend all your consumables trying to beat a boss
>drag the battle for several minutes and maybe even an hour
>end up losing the battle
>instead of game over you get a cutscene continuing the story
>the boss is unbeatable and you were supposed to lose to him anyway

>common enemies die in 1-hit

>epic enemies are immune to poison

>build your character around using life leeching abilities
>a huge section of the game has nothing but undead enemies which are completely immune to lifeleech

i'm looking at you, titan quest

>fight boss early in the game after a cutscene
>he kills you almost immediately in a single hit
>you were supposed to lose and continue the cutscene
>reload save because fuck you game
>Actually manage to beat boss
>cutscene shows absolutely no change, weather you beat him or not, he still walks off like you weren't a challenge and knocks you out because ???

Fuck you Symphonia 2.

>>spend all your consumables trying to beat a boss
>>drag the battle for several minutes and maybe even an hour
>>end up losing the battle
>hit reset to try again over and over
>you were supposed to lose, but never waited long enough before resetting to catch on

What build did you make?
I'm a Magician, and focus on buffing my weapon, summoning a lava golem, smokescreen, and a little arrow trap.
Wish I could refund some points though.

Basic how KoL is with stuns

in my first playthrough i just played a hunter/warfare hybrid and i had a fuckton of lifeleech in my gear, but that was legit unplayable once i got past the base game and went into the undeworld

after that i played an earth/storm glass cannon mage, got all the way up to ragnarok content on epic difficulty, but it's such a fuckin shit DLC i didn't feel like going through it the second time and quit playing

kek I can see myself doing that

>normal enemies are too weak to bother applying status effects

This
End up never using status effects on any enemy throughout the game.

Are there any games where a cut scene changes if you win a scripted to-lose-boss battle? Like the same scene but an extra line of dialogue with the boss telling you how impressed they are that you put up a fight

Time to replay this game

My friend told me that if you beat them you get Teepo as a party member.
Fuck him

I'm glad you add that last part, because my friend was asking if we're going to get the expansion. I will tell him no.

I finished BoF III two months ago, sometimes I would enter a boss battle and immediately lose it just to see if the game was fucking with me.

I'm sure there are plenty. But the only thing that comes to mind, is dalton from Chrono Trigger. When he spawns the golem on you in the throne room, you're supposed to be overwhelmed, die, and then Dalton laughs at your pitifulness. But if you manage to beat it, then Dalton gets annoyed and curses you. You still get trapped regardless.

>doing pretty well against a boss
>after some dialogue the boss starts killing full HP party members in one hit
>try to desperately keep everyone alive only for them to die on the next turn
>eventually think it's one of THOSE boss fights and lose on purpose
>game over

>bosses are immune to status effects
>bosses don't ignore stat buffs

recipe for a shit game

yeah, don't bother with it, maybe once you're up to legendary difficulty and near level cap on your characters

Ragnarok is just a lot of running and very repetitive quests, you're fighting the same enemies over and over, new items are very poorly made (and i mean they legit look like their icons were made in ms paint). But really the worst sin of this DLC is that you get these long stretches of running from one point of interest to another without anything interesting being between those points.

Goddang. Hopefully the devs get their act together. I want to see them succeed.

actually Ragnarok wasn't developed by Iron Lore, who were the developers of the original game and the Immortal Throne DLC, which is probably why Ragnarok is so bad lol
