>funny dialogue
>great targeting system with dismemberment
>fun but challenging
>money actually means something
>weapons pack a punch
>great soundtrack
Dismemberment is so satisfying. I have never seen a game that did it as good as postal 2 though
>was going to be ported to 360 with enhanced shit
>was cancelled for no good reason
Still mad.
The game is on the Wii too. Has anybody actually played that version?
>the game is 12 years old
Holy fuck
Seriously, why is this game almost unknown ? the game had kino voice acting, an alright gameplay, and a dope soundtrack. even the story was alright:
Isn't the PC port for this game awful?
It sold pretty well but nobody really talks about it. I liked it better than VC
No, where'd you hear that? It's perfectly playable as long as you run it on a single core.
>In July 2005, Vivendi president Phil O'Neil intimated there were plans to turn Scarface into a multigame franchise, saying "a Scarface 2, a Scarface 3, a Scarface 4, and consecutive iterations of that product [are] a really important component of what we're trying to do here."When the rights to the property were transferred to Activision Blizzard in 2008, however, Scarface 2 was not included in their list of upcoming games. Although the rights were later transferred back to Vivendi, no further news was heard
Can't have Tony spewing anti communist ideology in a game nowadays
I might be confusing it with another game. Should probably replay it
Go for it. I replay the pc version every few years I also have the ps2 version. Pc looks much better.
>that mission when you first meet the sandman
Yes, its very good. The Wiimote allows for very satisfying headshots.
Anything else different?
Literally the anti soy game. I highly recommend you find a copy or pirate its really fun
This game is so underrated, the m249 in this game is one of the most satisfying weapons i've ever shot in a game
My only complaint is my businesses getting attacked constantly. That shit was a chore.
It's not on any digital storefronts so it might as well not exist.
My nigger. Almost every gun in that game was satisfying to use especially with their sound effects. m249 was GOAT alongside with the shotgun
I don't get why the in-game radio had modern music playing. It really took me out of the game.
There's tons of old stuff. Just make your own mixtape in game and disable the modern songs
Henchmen and cameras bro

>as long as you run it on a single core.
You do not have to do that.
You don't?
I use widescreen fix. Initially starts the game to use 1 core but can later change the affinity to use all.
I wish I able to run it on PC. I never able to run it.
My biggest grip is how repetitive the missions structure is, but in the age of Ubisoft games, that wasn't so bad in hindsight
>they're making a new scarface
>it's being directed by a nigger
>the story is going to be in modern day but with a Mexican beaner instead of a cuban or Italian
Thanks hollywood
>tfw i thought you were joking
>get to kill the FUCKING DIAZ BROTHERS
>that chazzer Nacho Contrareas
>Gaspar Gomez and that cockaroach Sosa
>that dialogue system
>Tony actually grows as a person and learns from his mistakes
Even movies aren't as good as this these days.
the original was made around the era where cuban refugees were prominent so it makes sense a new one set today would have a mexican as the protag
>mfw you can either alpha Sosa to death and kill him in a cut scene or take him on in a handgun fight
Nani? I thought it took your gun away during the final fight? I know I fucked up one time without grinding balls and not refilling health then Sosa one shotted me.
WALK ALONG THE RAZOR'S EDGE
The pc port was terrible from what I heard
Love the latin, country and reggae music. For being a 2007 ps2 game looks great, buying the component cables and know the term ''jaggies''. Great memories.
Why do people keep saying this
So the same thing Brian de Palma did? The 'original' Scarface was the 1932 one focused around an Italian mobster. It was updated to central americans for the 80's remake.
No shit, user implied he knew that when he said italian
Is this scene in the game?
Giving the rights to vivendi pretty much means a Scarface game is in limbo, what a shame
But yeah i can see politics being an issue as well
The game is an alternate universe where Tony survives the mansion attack. It's not a film adaptation
is this game canon like The Thing game?
Then why did he act surprised that it was being moved to modern day with a more relevant modern day gangster demographic?
No doubt they will go with the "Mexicans are oppressed" angle, even though they can just hop the border & be given free shit for life
wait wasnt it supposed to be starring Leo Dicaprio?
Because of
It'll be some hamfisted shit about you know who. At least the 80s scarface took an anti communist theme
>button for cussing out your enemies or just random people or having roadrage outbursts
>button for going on a fuckin ballistic rampage
>dealing drugs
>having cars delivered to you by a driver
>massacring people with controlled bullet sprays
good shit, ahead of its time in some ways, too bad it runs like shit on most modern hardware
No, spiritual sequel where the Skull doesn't shoot him in the back.
You can't massacre innocents since Tony never killed that politician, his wife, and his kid.
>it runs like shit on most modern hardware
No it doesn't
You can in the game just not as tony. If you switch to his assassin you can
>try to run over peds with a car
>no matter what they'll always dodge out of the way
for a crime sandbox game it sure cares about the lives of innocents
Wow it's almost as if he's Tony Montana! You know, the same fucking Tony Montana that got killed because he didn't want to kill innocents
I just find it odd that it could be so accurate to the character and how despite being a GTA clone it still wont let you be a mass murderer(outside missions that is)
Is vivendi even around anymore? Does anyone even own the video game right to scarface
I didn't mind. There's thousands of bad guys to wipe out anyway
Because without fixes like either 3d ripper dx or widescreen fix, the game is graphically corrupted and is not playable
tldr; people are too retarded to google a fix
So anyone got a download to the PC version?
MEGA would be great
>Skull tries to shoot me in the back
>kill him first
best feeling
It's a better version of Vice City.
Which mansion theme did you choose bros?
AHAHAHA nope.
I wouldnt say it's better but it's the closest thing to a sequel to VC
It is though. From a pure gameplay perspective it's better. Cocaine smuggling from the islands to Miami in a fucking speed boat avoiding pirates and the coast guard is more fun than anything in vice city
It's has its pros and cons, VC has a lot of mission variety while most Scarface missions are just shootouts
The map was also way better.
It blew my mind that there's more to it than just Miami city
I love both games I just like scarface a lot more. There's also more to do in it than vice city.
>gambling/betting on cage matches
>drug dealing
>hiring henchmen that you can actually control
>mansion customization
>maintaining fronts
>racing
>assassinations
Playing as henchmen was pointless and if it reduced your agro then it would have a purpose.
None because Tony's mansion was fine as it was just too bad they replace the picture of Tony with Elvira with just one of him but I guess getting Michelle Pfeiffer back was kinda pointless.
VCS exists and is far superior to VC in almost every way except maybe soundtrack and story you nigger.
I consider Chinatown Wars a successor in some ways.
i know people who hated CW just because "muh topdown"
god people suck
I remember betting at cockfight on the island, and killing pirates with the gunship was so much dumb fun
>pointless
Nigger What? As the enforcer you can use him to reduce gang heat and not have to pay off vice as much. As the assassin it reduces cop heat
Did you play Sleeping Dogs? It had cockfights.
How do you reduce gang heat as enforcer? I thought all his missions were killing other gangs increasing heat?
>Upon successful completion of a mission, the enforcer will earn a random sum of cash (typically $40,000 - $100,000), and a fraction of Tony's gang heat will be deducted.
The nice kind of plot twist we all like in video games.
You still have your guns, but the game expects you to coarse Sosa at that point. You can just leave the room and take shots at him, which will make him to take you on with his magnum.
wow I totally forgot about this game but it was pretty good. I dont like how the drug dealing was just a QTE tho. same for depositing ur illegal gains.
Meh, Chinatown Wars economy system of buying low stockpiling then selling high was too ahead of its time for a handheld game.
Drug running was difficult as fuck when I first played it.
Every game should have a dedicated *swears in puerto rican* button
they need to either remaster or create a sequel this game
i fucking sunk so much of my teen life into the Wii version. I'm inclined to play the shit again.
tfw never beat the last mission and never went back to this great game.
YES! This game is fucking GOAT
>It's time to discuss the best open world crime game
Yes, lets talk about the Godfather
Solid game. Not nearly as memorable as this one - at least for me - so my inclination is to disagree with your assertion.
>All those unique conversations
>Balls rage mode
>That soundtrack
>You can find Gilligan's island
I fucking love the way they did Tony's character. He's fucking solid
>Tfw the Godfather game will never get a PC port to steam or GoG or a port to modern consoles
I rented this like 5 times back to back when it came out and it was fun as fuck damn
Gonna emulate it for nostalgia
Which version is best to port, you reckon'?
all that does is buy you more time for you to show up to defend the place
I accept your concession.
who /furiouslyfappedtotheassassin/ here?
It got ported to the 360 and PS3 with added content if that helps
Xbox ;)
PC
Did Pachino actually do the voice acting for the game?
