You caught on fast. Akatsuki's normals, nearly every single one, beats out Hyde's in terms of speed. You're best bet is to try and zone him out a bit unless you got frametraps

The system can detect if you have CFW on your system and ban you outright, you can jump through a bunch of hoops to get online every time you turn the console but I think I'd rather just wait a month or so to see if there's any news on the PC front
I bought EL on Steam in December and I fucking love it, I just don't feel like buying it for PS4 where I'd have to pay for online and then have to buy it again when it comes to PC

Puddle pressure is pretty fucking annoying to deal with.

this all applies to seth, a character who's way better at setplay even though it's not even his niche

like all things with carmine you just have to sit there and build GRD while he kills himself setting up puddles and throwing projectiles, then kill him

character doesn't do enough damage anymore to really justify losing 600 health every combo

I don't play him, I'm just wondering why he even exists in this game when seth, byakuya and hilda all got hella buffs in unist that make them better at setplay and better at close/mid/far range respectively

carmine is the SF5 ryu of setplay, he does everything mediocre

you don't know what you're talking about. meaty wheel gives carmine safe meaty oki that other characters have to spend meter or chainshift to get that. His damage used to be among the highest in the game in uniel, he was so buff in that version that in this version he received almost nothing but nerfs and his oki is STILL ridiculous. with just blood wheel you can keep pressure on even when they shield his assault, his 22C tracks fullscreen and sets up oki, 6B is unbelievably fast, he is a really good character.

I'm in Cali. Maybe I should restart my router or something because the games were fine yesterday.

The entirety of today was pretty nice. I was capable of finding a room with ~4 people in it every single time I went online.

I wish I knew this too. It'd be fun to finally fight against Walds, Mikas, Carmines, and Chaos instead of just being the one who uses them.

I feel like I've entered a losing streak ever since the english version dropped because I haven't had as much time to research more stuff because I've been busy with dbfz. gotta get back to watching more stream footage.

seth and hilda say hi. their oki may not be quite as meaty meterless as carmine (keeping in mind that carmine needs to land very specific starters or cut his combo short to properly get this outside of the corner) but their mixup tools are much stronger to compenstate. carmine wishes he had seths mixup or hildas ability to convert into setplay off any stray hit

this is a pretty cool callout move but it has lots of stuff where it just straight up whiffs (assaults are a big one)

it also does no chip and causes him to die. carmine 6B is just a move that exists to make you stop hitting buttons in the game where not hitting buttons in insanely strong because of shield to build vorpal

Man, Brain fucking loves Hyde's half circle move. I don't think I've seen a round where he doesn't use it.

Notes still fucks around with him but he's still THE Carmine player. I found this guy called Bokuno who has a understandably low win-rate but his Enkidu is pretty damn cool. Battle Arena wasn't recording the region he was from so I found a different arcade's upload channel.
I haven't seen too many Akatsukis in the arcade stuff I'm watching but just watching Squish or something should help you learn some more nasty tech.

so literally only two other characters, and again seth can't actually get the fireball to be meaty unless he tries for a reset, which requires the opponent to tech, guard cancel is nearly useless because if carmine commits to nothing while the wheel happens he can punish it on block or just throw it on reaction as its pretty slow, and the chip on 6B doesn't matter because it sets up a puddle that there forced to deal with which allows him to pressure from afar while getting in. I agree that he's probably worse overall then seth but don't pretend like he doesn't have the means to oki people to death.

I'm not seeing him use Pale Bringer all that often, he seems to prefer 22C more.
Which is good because it's utterly fantastic. He could get more out of the combo before he throws it out though.

I think you misunderstand. it's not that carmine's oki is bad. it's just that there are several other characters who have better oki, so why play carmine when oki is literally his only strong point besides puddle gimmicks that lose to just blocking in a defensive game

I did you see use something with j.c one time off it but I hadn't been able to mess around with it yet. I don't experiment mid-match /that/ much

No one here except Jo really plays him here so you'd probably get a better answer from someone who actually uses him.
In that regard, I see more Carmines than Hildas in the arcade scene.

seths oki is much weaker than people think. with the exception of resets, carmine has stronger oki because the wheel allows him to force high/low/throw mixups when the opponent has no meter. when seth gets you to block his teleport move, air shield stops 9/10 follows he has. It's much easier to deal with meaty seth teleport than meaty wheel.

Thinking you were fighting walkup should have been more than enough.

Not him but Seth's meaties are more disorienting to deal with, especially if he sets up a side-switch and actually cross you up on wake-up.

I'm more afraid of Walkups byak then his aka.

People are already averse to spending money on PS+, I doubt too many would actually double dip for a Vita copy. Even then, I count around like 2 people who did here and they only did it for the story mode.

seths oki is a bit weaker but seths everything else is way better. every combo ends in orb and then he has tons of options he can throw out knowing he's pretty much safe (in particular dash C, which beats the overwhelming majority of reversals in the game and can set up a crossup or a bunch of other followups. it's not quite as swingy if you keep guessing wrong as carmine, but its overal way better because of how many more options/damage seth has

also, seth has fucking unblockables and an overhead that doesn't instantly stop pressure

The Vita doesn't need PS+ for its online.

I don't know about that, mostly his Byak and maybe his Hyde.

no, these lobbies are literally filled with people who know their connection is bad but play anyway because they've mastered online tactics, then you wait 30 minutes as the full room scrolls back around to you

There's a hilda who gets destroyed but has a few nifty CS set-ups where she sets up 623B, Chain shifts, and dog piles more shit on the opponent. Plus there's a combo you should probably learn because you can actually confirm off j[C] but you never do.

Couple of things. he popped veil off twice and I'm used to him throwing out supers so I didn't wanna mistime anything I couldn't recover from. The other being I wanted to really AA the teleport that never came. Just got tunnel vision I guess
