Gaming laptops
It doesn't even need to be a gaming laptop to play all those indie games and console ports.
>taking a monitor, keyboard, and pc case on a plane, hotel, truck, etc
>2017+1
>gaming on PC
>Gaming Headset
>not having a phone that can emulate anything up to PS2 era
I have a 1060 and i7 7700hq with 16gb of ram
4k screen
roast me
>need a new peripheral but all the 'gaming' variants are sold out
how much did you pay for it
This. What the fuck has been worth playing on pc that had been released in the last decade? I was replaying warcraft 3 and homeworld on the train the other day ffs, most popular games on steam are updated mods that are around 17 years old
1049
>Gaming smartphone
>living in the PS2 era
it's not 2004 anymore
are you sure you aint forgetting a 0 somewhere in there
>not being able to live without gaming for a few days and actually enjoying your fucking vacation
honestly this desu
>Giving money to a company and getting nothing in return
Just pirate
It's very hard to prove videogames improved since gen 6 tho.
>TFW Regretting getting a Surface Pro 4 due to the lack of a Thunderbolt 3 port
it's 2018 not 2008. That meme is dead.
This, I have an 860 i7 from 2010 paired with a GTX 980 and can run anything on it so far at 1080 resolution which is fine for now. There aren't any games anywhere that upgrading to 4k and top of the line cpu/gpu combo would make worthwhile. The only thing I can imagine would be a VR setup, which so far has nothing interesting game wise
why is it bad?
I know you fags are just memeing around but
>have this friend
>he bought an Xbone and PS4
>ask him why he'd buy both
>he doesn't really know, just assumed it'd be worth it
>about a year later he still has almost no games for either, and he could have played most of them on his $2,000 PC he had just built the year before anyway
>he invites me over a few weeks ago to hang out
>since then he had bought a new PS4 since the first one broke, an Xbox One X and a PS4 Pro with PSVR
>he still has pretty much the same games he did the last time I looked and the only games he has for PSVR is the demo disc and Skyrim
>mfw he showed me all of the money he wasted
no it's a dell inspiron 15 7000 with i7 7700hq 16gb of gddr4 ram and nvidia 1060 with a 4k ips screen. all for 1049
At the same time, it's worth getting a gaming laptop now more than ever since gpus are fucking expensive and pc games have plateaued for the most part. This is assuming of course a person would need the portability
that's actually a pretty good price for what it offers + the mobility and options, like be able to hook it up to an HDTV or monitor. You can literally play anything on that with high settings and 60fps and then some, just not 4k/60fps.
because they usually pack overpriced generation old hardware
...
Pretty much or you can just hook up your laptop to your TV and save a few hundred instead of buying a monitor. I don't see the benefit of spending almost two grand to play the same games. You also get to take your laptop with you or can stash it if need be.
>1060
1060 can barely handle 4k at any decent fps. Way to waste your money.
she a cute
The manufacturer uses the marketing tag "gamer" to sell the hardware to an audience who believes said tag is how you reffer to people who play videogames as a whole like a 'culture' enabling them to sell it at overprice because elitism.
Everything that used to be a meme sounds viable/even preferable these days because of fucking shitcoin miners. They can't die soon enough.
Because they were overpriced
But now PC components are also overpriced
So what happens now
Great laptop. Would recommend
now its a matter of choice
My gaming laptop blew up. It wasn't even turned on for months and was sitting in my cupboard.
To be fair, some of them are pretty fucking extreme and worth the price point.
That is if you really want a laptop instead of just getting a desktop.
At the end you are just paying for fancy lights. Very few worth the retarded price, granted.
that thing weights as much as a mid tower
I know. I'm not saying it's practical or a logical buy.
I personally think laptops are a horrible idea to buy for gaymin, but if I was forced to, it'd be that one for sure.
gaming laptops look a lot better now then they did a few years ago. the main problems are still that they will overheat and that the cache sizes aren't as big, but with the prices of gpus being up until at least q3 they look even better.
Fuck off, Obamaleaf.
He could have bought a teenager from Laos for that sort of money.
w-why?
whats your point?
>i7 5820k
>strix 980ti
>ddr4 32gb 3200mhz
>remember pc has no games and only play AoE2
>play all multiplats on PS4 instead
don't mind me i'm just autism
You need a pretty fucking high end rig to run it smoothly.
Even mine can't run it on ultra at smooth 1080p60fps.
>high end
970
>4k screen
>1060
lol
970 is comparable to a 1060, which is probably the most used graphics card now.
The only real difference between the two is 1060 has less power draw.
a 980 is comparable to a 1060
>implying 4k is even good for gaming
144hz 1080p is all you need kids
Left is the 970, right is 1060.
1060 is still better, but they're similar enough in overall performance. I'm pretty sure the biggest difference is power consumption.
>being a NEET.
*spills your mountain dew onto it*
You're assuming people on the road are on vacation and aren't just working, like truckers or business trips, or maybe travel for other reasons . I also assume you've never been on a vacation long enough where you come back to your room to unwind before bed playing a comfy game
3.5 vs 6
>assuming everyone is a gamer neckbeard
I have one of these. Only lasted for 2 years until the battery died which became useless by that time
Although desktops are better in the long run, a laptop with a dedicated gpu in it isn't bad by any means. Nowadays they're only slightly weaker in terms of performance than desktop counterparts. I like the fact that I can take it with me to a friends house, hook it up to tv and play more couch co op games than any console currently has.
thing is you can now make mATX builds that are about as big as a beefy laptop
>comes to a thread on gaming
>shits on gamers
I want you to think of the logistics of that, a keyboard, a power supply, a monitor, and cooling , all in the same square inchage for less than $1100
...
i was talking to the person who said you can take your laptop and hook it to your friend's tv, and dont pretend laptop monitors are good, 17 inches is total dog shit, and yes an mATX build is more than doable
Hey, where else am I gonna play all my emulators?
Goddammit I can hear Kronk's voice perfectly
>gamers
Calm down zoe
>we live in a timeline where prebuilts are a viable choice
>2020-2
>gaming on soy-powered consoles
shouldn't you be slurping Tyrone's cum out of your wife's pussy right now?
All prebuilts suffer from having corners cut to save costs, along with your GPU being a shitty laptop version of a low-mid card that becomes outdated rather quickly
You're better off getting a laptop with 8-16GB of Ram, i7 and a Thunderbolt 3 port so you can plug in your own separate GPU
