This is the greatest handheld game ever made.
literally its only fault is that the controls suck if you are left handed
This is the greatest handheld game ever made.

I agree
lefthanders should be working on becoming normal instead of wasting time playing videogames they have a lot to catch up on
I agree
Agreed. It's really a shame that it released so early in the 3DS's lifespan and nothing as great has made its way onto handhelds since, everything's always been second to it at best. In a way I'm glad it's an uncommon franchise with barely any releases but at the same time they could do so much more with it. Although it's pretty hard to top what they managed on the 3DS, the content was and still is astounding, and the gameplay is still extremely entertaining.
Hyped for the sequel in 2038
>its only fault is that the controls suck
Full stop.
So I can't enjoy this as a left handed person? Dropped.
>the controls suck if you are left handed
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I AM JESUS FUCK
>tfw left-handed
>can do literally everything with my right hand except writing and playing guitar
Couldn't play it for more than 2 stages.
100 percent, this game was incredible plus the multiplayer was dope.
in my top 10 games of all time
How much longer until the next Sakurai game?
Casualfag
Lefty here, literally just get good. It's not like you have to write or anything.
Agreed, great game.
But I enjoyed the hell out of it and had no issue playing this left handed. Didn't even use a stand.
I'm a lefty and I had no issue playing it.
[Stand] you say? Are you cheating at vidya again?
uhhh
>Subhuman lefties having the right to complain about irregularities
only fault is that it's stuck on the 3ds, wish it had a wiiu port or something
>literally its only fault is that the controls suck
And that the writing is shit, and that the voice acting is shit, and that it rapes and spits on the corpse of what used to be a good video game series.
Fuck, I just discovered this gem last week despite owning New3DS for two years.
Ever since games on DS that used the stylus and the buttons at the same time, I've evolved to hold all my ds type handhelds with my pinky hooked around above the R button curled underneath the top screen with the bottom right corner is sat in the meat of my hand. The rest of the fingers have the stylus resting directly at the middle of the screen.
The left hand does its shit.
SO
When Kid Icarus came by and I got halfway through the game on the day, I look to see everyone complaining about how there hands hurt and I just didn't get it.
Then I look at reviewers who hold the entire console in their left hand, and dedicate the entire right hand to just the stylus , just short of holding the whole thing in their fist like a fucking ape.
My hands are really flexible, wasn't till this came out that I even notice, but some people just hold it like a retard and I see why the stands were necessary for them.
The controls kinda' suck period but they're the best they could possibly be for the game's format. I was excited for Citra to develop so I could give it a try with a trackball, which Pit himself even compares it to ("like spinning a globe"), but that shit's not happening since Citra is never ever.
Megamix was frustratingly easy until it brought the base games back as their "hard" versions, THEN brought the hard versions in as some ultra-hard version.
The 3DS is already an ergonomic nightmare. Kid Icarus Uprising is downright torture.
...
Havent gotten to the 3rd stage hard yet, but fuck this game.
I the "harder" variants being just the originals didn't pay off because they were just easier.
All the songs from the DS game are worse off.
The touch screens star shit effects are distracting as fuck.
Better off just playing the Wii or DS game.
blx atx
Yeah it takes a fucking lot of getting used to, scoring is based on a 1-100% scale of how accurate you are rather than having high-priority accuracy and low-priority accuracy through every segment so you'll get scored lower if you fuck up a crucial part. It's way too forgiving as a result, I've only ever failed by intentionally trying to do so or in some of the challenge-train ones that necessitate you get strings of Perfects.
Im left handed and I fucking hate this game.
it's the most underrated game in nintendo's history, even tropical freeze got the appreciation it deserved a couple of years after its release but no one ever talks about ki:u, really the only place that gives a toss about the game is this shithole
psst, maybe there's a reason for that. even kotaku praises god hand.
I was gonna get pissy about how easy it is too, but it goes without saying
>first game
>do so well only missing maybe twice
>get an OK
Maybe it helps that ive played the others recently just before i turned my 2ds into a little SD card slut, hungry for free games, that there hasnt been a single stage i haven't gotten a medal on my first play through.
Who are you quoting?
People still talk about this game? Wow what a sight!
Difficulty hit its sweet spot with DS and Wii I can agree, GBA game is prolly the most stringent out of the entire series and its games are a bit weird in practice compared to later ones. Especially that one about picking hairs off of root vegetables, that one I swear is luck-based half the time on a GBA.
Anyone who talk about terrible control need to git gud.
Also you don't need stylus to play this game, just use fingernail.
I downloaded it on freeshop and quit after like 20 minutes. I haven't destroyed my hands that badly since playing in duel rooms in gunZ as a kid.
l'm convinced people who struggled with the controls are hambeasts with jumbo sausage like fingers such as jim sterling
normal humans with normal sized hands can play the game fine, maybe they should try getting on a treadmill instead of still crying about it 6 years later
This game is either love it or hate it just for the controls alone.
>release a second stick accessory
>not compatible
>will never ever port it to another console
dunno why they are bother porting wii U games when theres tons of 3DS that are actually hampered by the ass hardware that would be greatly improved
We can't all be 5'4 with the hands of a korean child.
Yeah didnt the game kinda undersell? iirc Sakurai said the game sold under the expectations.
The most underrated game of this decade tbqhwyf.
>you will never experience uprising for the first time again
source
it broke a million, which means it was profitable as 3ds games cost nothing to make
Oh ok I kinda thought reading something like that somewhere. Then why isnt there a sequel then if it sold well apparently?
because sakurai doesn't like making sequels and nintendo have to find someone else to take care of the franchise
there hasn't been a sequel for luigi's mansion 2 either while it sold more copies than every zelda game released between twilight princess and botw
Oh well that´s a shame. Then the IP is pretty much dead at this point. :(
>Being left-handed
>sakurai doesn't like making sequels
unless if they're kirby or brawl, right?
It's like you're literally playing a Saturday Morning Cartoon. Best Girl is Cyclops Medusa
people make these jokes without realizing people with left hands hafe higer iq's. LMAO
Uprising, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Star Fox Command all have some of the greatest controls of their genre outside of M+KB games, every time people complain about the controls for one of these I wonder what they wanted them to play like on a fucking handheld and the touch screen controls are so much more precise than a controller
yes us lefites amirite *tips fedora* we are enlightened by our own intelligence
Their problem isn't that the controls aren't accurate, it's that it's a strain on your hands.
I agree though, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Honestly found it more of a strain on my L button, Prime Hunters gutted the one on my DS Lite from holding charge so often and MKDS did the same to R from snaking, the 3DS shoulders are a lot better though
The structure is a bit weird. Everyone agrees that the Chaos Vortex is the absolute highlight of the game, if not the entire medium of video games, but for some reason the game keeps going for 4 more chapters.
I don't hate the rest but it just never even gets close to anything resembling the climax of chasing down the Chaos Kin. They should have had you deal with Hades and THEN get turned into a ring.
Post god tier handheld games
God fucking dammit I've gotten so close to beating this shit on 9.0 so many times but the sheer length of the ground battle gauntlet has me fucking up eventually every time
Too many to list. Handhelds have been objectively superior to consoles and PC for well over a decade now thanks to lower production requirements allowing for a more tightly-knit group of developers.
>I'm gonna make Kirby and Smash Bros. look like a fucking joke
>tfw you can't beat any chapter on 9.0 except the first one
why do l suck at vidya
Well guess what, fag? I am left handed, pre-ordered this piece of shit and have regretted it ever since. Biggest waste of money since Dillon's Rolling Western. I even bought the CPP and the controls were actually worse. Fuck you, fuck Nintendo for their hatred of lefties and fuck Kid Icarus.
>ywn be tricked by the fake ending again
Pokemon exists in this timeline.
The controls sucked ass but the dialogue and writing were pretty fucking awful as well.
>I'm gonna make Kirby and Smash Bros. look like a fucking joke
...by making a unplayable game with cringy animu writing, and then shoehorning dark pit into smash.
I did every 9.0 chapter with my trusty high damage weapon except for the Chaos Kin, had to chimp the fuck out and use a Dark Pit staff that had like +8 Overall Defense
I still don't get the appeal of Sakurai Kirbs. Yeah I guess Super Star was neato but the best Kirby's ever been were the Shinomura games. To the point where the new director knows he has no talent so he keeps stealing ideas from it.
