I've actually seen a resurgence in people telling others to lurk in recent months.

It might just be in my head, but I think Sup Forums has gotten better over the last little while. I think Sup Forums replacing Sup Forums and becoming new-Sup Forums - i.e. a rough-and-tumble gateway that most new users enter through - has been good for the site, even if the Sup Forumsposting is annoying.

I think when Sup Forums lost its relevance, but before Sup Forums replaced it, people tended to go straight from the outer internet into the niche boards like Sup Forums and /tg/, and they didn't learn the overarching board culture first. (I know Sup Forums is hardly a small board, but it still a niche board). Sup Forums is acting like a gatekeeper the way Sup Forums used to do, and I'm glad for that.

I really want to write an "oral" history of Sup Forums. This website is so interesting, and all of our memes and collective experience will be lost in time as users die, forget, or leave, unless it's written down. Maybe it's better that way, but it still saddens me to think of all the things that have been lost.

It might be sad, but I'm passionate about this website.

Any game that runs in DOSBox from steam cannot have DRM, or Valve would need to provide the source code of the DLL that hooks into it, so they just don't even bother adding DRM to them.

Some will work by just adding a text file to the folder with the App ID in it:

I will just point out that GoG is far better than steam for the sole reason that they fix a game up and make it easier to play some games
Take Fallout 3 for example, on steam it is an annoyance to get running
GoG made it so much easier by doing things that should be done for the steam version from the get go like
GFWL was removed
included bUseThreadedAI=1 and iNumHWThreads=2 in the ini file (prevents problems related to multi-core computer setups)
enabled LargeAddressAware flag in game executable allowing it to access more memory (less change of out of memory related crashes)
GOG installation process also sets any compatibility settings needed
