Which series is better Sup Forums?
Which series is better Sup Forums?
PW.
Not even fucking close.
Ace Attorney by far.
Ace Attorney.
Ace Attorney.
AA
I've never played an Ace Attorney, and I've played and watched every Dangaronpa.
Ace Attorney.
eat your fucking hamburgers, Danganronpa is greater
Only the first three AA are good.
I've like every Danganronpa.
Ace Attorney
I consider DR just an edgy and less polished version of Ace Attorney
*blocks ur path*
No, danganronpa not only has much dumber execution, but every single ending in the entire series has been pants on head retarded
don't compare these things
Yeah, the endings always ruin it for me.
Kodaka is a fucking hack.
The trial gameplay is better in Danganronpa, mostly.
AA for early episodes, DR for finale chapters.
AA, but Dr2 case 5 destroys any case from AA and DR1/V3.
So is this actually good or am I just getting memes on? What’s it about?
it's literally the best piece of writing to ever exist
Danganronpa has higher highs, but overall AA is a more solid franchise.
AA in every aspect, DR is just edgy vn for ironic weebs
best ending in the game right here and it isn't even canon
What’s it about though? Because so far the only things I know about it are it involves something about witches and trannies and that’s not much to go on
How is liking AA more than DR an American thing? Stop using your obsession as an argument.
...
Both are great. I love them equally.
10 Little Niggers mixed with Ace Attorney, 600 gorillion meta layers, magic, romance. All at over twice the length of War and Peace.
This thread makes it seem like DR is shit. I do agree AA is better, but it isn’t like there’s a humongous gap between the 2. I love both.
V3 sucked regardless of the ending.
SoJ is on par with T&T
DR 2-5 > AA > Rest of DR
I appreciate DR's faster pace and unique style, would be boring if it just ripped AA off.
AA is better
but
I like DR too
DR has absolutely terrible writing
Ace Attorney can be enjoyed by both older kids and adults. Danganronpa has no target audience outside of weeb teenagers. So Ace Attorney, not even a competition.
AA threads talk about the cases. DR threads talk about waifus and memes.
I like both, but people are kidding themselves if they think DR is the better series.
DR1 starts off alright but then goes full retard by the end.
DR has better characters and gameplay
AA has better mysteries and cases
OST is good on both games.
You have to realize that DR's selling point are the characters and interactions, the VN sim stuff.
AA's selling point are the cases and mysteries. I hardly give a fuck about its characters. I just want to solve trials.
Both franchises have their goods and bads.
DR’s gameplay uses random gimmicks like fucking taxi driving. AA’s gameplay is basic, but it’s better.
...
Come on, stop droning, please.
The Argument Armament is miles better than Thought Route aka "just pick the right answer"
Sure, you might not like some dumbass minigames like the taxi or mining, or the hangman, but it's not like AA's shitty gimmicks like the bracelet or mood matrix are any better.
Overall DR gameplay is way more dynamic. AA gameplay has been stagnant and it's honestly nothing special anymore.
I think he tried to make a joke about AA's localization
I actually agree, when you talk about the testimony stuff.
AA still only has press and present... and that's it. That's all you do in testimonies. You just find the contradiction and present the evidence to proceed. Just like it has been since the first game.
DR has the disagree points, agree points, and even the lie mechanic that makes you flip around your thinking and overall makes finding objections or agreements more complex.
AA obviously.
DR shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same sentence, it can go hang in the third-class tier along with 999/Virtue’s Last Reward.
DR is ZTD tier, not 999/VLR
that's kind of the point of danganronpa dude, to be crazy and stupid
Ace Attorney has been painfully dull since trials & tribulations. Spirit of Justice was the closest it got to recapturing a bit of dramatic weight since the fucking gba games, and even then it kinda fell flat still. There's really not much soul in current AA games, Danganronpa at the very least still manages to understand why people liked the original.
>AA threads talk about the cases.
You mean shipping faggotry
I played all the danganronpas and none of PW but I'll still go on a limb and say PW is better.
Ace Attorney
VLR was worse than ZTD by a mile
and 999 was worse than VLR
This, I like both but PW are better by a mile.
I would agree but Clover
Athena’s fingerprints being on the lighter in DD’s finale case was a pretty big mindfuck.
It was a huge fucking red-herring and made the villain obvious as fuck.
Ace Attorney the fuck are you smoking to even ask this question?
Can I start with When They Cry 3?
AA is just dragging on a story no one really cares about anymore.
>woo wee Phoenix and friends up the stakes and will bring a courtroom revolution!
At least DR had the decency to end before it just became a soulless cow.
Newfag.
Congratulations for letting everyone know you have Mirai Nikki on your 3x3.
Danganronpa executes while making fun of anime tropes in a crazy and unhinged self referential setting that doesn't necessarily takes itself seriously but plays itself straight enough to manage to have moments of intense emotion mixed in all the nonsense.
While the game play is all over the place and most of the cases are bad, it's not any worse than AA in that regard, the cases have never been good except the last of every game, and AA's constant refusal to have meaningfull continuity and character arcs that matter means it's characters are stuck in limbo, condemned to never amount to anything and never have any defining character building moments because the status quo needs to be preserved for the next game. Pearl is exactly the fucking same character in SoJ that she was in JFA, which is frankly inexcusable. There's really not a spark of charm or promise left in its cast, and the only way modern AA games could ever be considered any good is if they focused on making the cases good, but honestly AA 5 and 6 suffered from extremely dull cases and trivial minigames that don't add anything.
All in all, if both series have shit gameplay, I'll take the one with good music and presentation that can make me care about its characters, so Danganronpa will always win untill AA can prove it can bring a real case like Rise for Ashes again.
I never even fucking played it
>DR had the decency to end
I'll eat my hat if there's a danganronpa game released in the next 3 years
Not him but there's possibly another game on the way, with them hiring. Plus the 10th anniversary is on the way in two years.
We can probably expect something, like a spinoff like UDG but they won't release a new numbered entry in a long while
So fucking accurate
>DR had the decency to end
What? Where did you read this? If you got this from DRv3's ending then you've misinterpreted it. DR will not end, it's their most profitable game.
When any case ends on LUL LUCK then no DR2-5 is GARBAGE. 1-5 from AA is how to do a multuilayered case correctly. That was a murder made to look like manslaughter made to look like murder, and no faggy mary sues like Chiaki or Nagito
Never played Ace Attorney, but I'm pretty interested in playing it one day. Is it easy to emulate? Are the iOS ports really bad?
mary sue doesn't mean "character I don't like", nor does it mean "character with a large amount of influence/power"
what order can I play When They Cry?
can I begin with umineko when they cry question arc?
umineko isn't a video game
Its very easy to emulate (gba or ds version)
Yeah, no problem.
It's only very slightly related to Higurashi.
Higurashi is also a great read, so you can start with any of them, really.
Only 1-5 lives up to DR2 2-5 and even then barely.
Yamazaki was a mistake
DR2-5 doesnt even live up to AA2-3
>Literally the most annoying and worst written character Takumi write
Weird way to make a point
I suppose I'll go that route, then.
You're right, it surpasses all.
Kek stay mad drfag
Ironic
>annoying
I can understand why people might find him annoying but this is ultimately subjective
>poorly written
Elaborate. What's so poorly written about him?
If you wanted to question Takumi's writing ability you could just have used Klavier instead, then I'd see where you're coming from.
There was a precedent for relying on luck in that case.
Danganronpa is better by far. I've played every AA game and I don't care about any of the characters that died.
DR by a mile. It's just more engaging and juggles its 20 different dramatic tones far more adeptly (in the mainline series that is, spinoffs are fucking garbage).
PW is great but there's no mounting tension or dread because most of the victims and perps get killed off before you care about them. It's just kind of flat.
AA
AA since I don't hate any of the games in the series.
God danganronpa's art style is so fucking ugly
I love Junko!
Not going to choose, I love them both. They're the only games I drop everything else to play when they release.
Ace Attorney has better story, humor and art style.
>but the game doesn't make you care about the victims!
So what? You play as a lawyer, the one you're supposed to care for is the client.
>the one you're supposed to care for is the client.
To be fair, AA is usually terrible at doing that too.
>So what? You play as a lawyer, the one you're supposed to care for is the client.
I wouldn't call it a shortcoming for AA but DR goes a lot further in trying to engage the player through emotional manipulation, and that's a plus. Very few pulp writers can do that very well.
AA, I still enjoy both though.
Dangan is good, but nobody on thios board will actually say DR is better than AA. Theres literally no contest when AA actually has gameplay. DR is more like a parody of AA/ZE and spike chunsoft outright admits to it.
>Inquisitive deduction is Annoying
Read a doyle novel sir.
>All at over twice the length of War and Peace.
fug. That's counting both question and answer arcs and whatever bonus episodes they have?
It's kinda cool to know that Asahina wouldn't have a problem to alternate fuck with three guys.
999 is filled with baby puzzles. only three, including the final puzzle, are actually challenging.
>implying the Q room in VLR doesnt shit on every single puzzle 999 throws at you
