I love this game. Just managed to get my first two island win on normal. Pretty tough at times, but man did things turn around when I went all in and beat some harder levels earlier.
Bought the smoke bomb upgrade, the smoke push, the shield upgrade for the push bot, moved the smoke passive to the flyer and upgraded it, and finally gave the turret thing a secondary fire which did 1 damage aoe and push to everying surrounding what it was aiming at, let me pull of some combos.
Hell, I got all three achievements for those bots in this same playthrough. 2dmg clouds everywhere by the end.
I even went as far to sacrifice my own pusher to shut down the boss vek on the final map with smoke to secure the victory. (it was close. Went from full shields to just 1 left at the end of the fight. I had to let them take some at some points so I could max out the damage to keep their numbers under control)
I think the game is very worth it. Especially if you don't have FTL yet and get that for free too. Love it.

It's shit. I'm forgiving of TBS games because I love them. And that's how bad this is. Even I can't like it.
